Did she think she was a good person? No she did not - Zhang Zhe was that pure good person for her that she was not. So she thought she could redeem herself a little bit of he chose her .

Zhang Zhe would never lover her the way she is. If you noticed she never could be herself in front of him. According to me Yan Lin could have been a better match but not Zhang Zhe. I am actually glad she backed off.

He really was not a red flag but had lost too much in his life including his identity. He respected and loved the FL a lot and accepted her for who she was. TBH she was not a great person and she was self righteous . But he accepted her for who she was. But she not so much till the end

It is not as simple as that. the FL ‘s feelings for Zhang Zhe and Yan Lin were very different. Even though she had a bond with Yan Lin she always considered him as a friend - she was very clear about that. With Zhang Zhe I would say it was a fantasy - since she thought she was a bad person her solution was to become good by being with Zhang Zhe - she wanted to possess some thing good and pure. But with Xie Wei they understood and trusted each other from the beginning. She could be herself in front of him and he accepted her for who she was from the beginning. Jiang Xuening was very ambiguous towards him and actually used him a lot for her own selfish purposes and it’s only towards the end that she was convinced that she should be with him. He definitely had a selfless love for her but not her so much - she always weighed the pros and cons of everything

He actually understood the character and played it beautifully. He was not scary at all. Xie Wei is a very intense character to play with a lot of layers to him and ZLH really brought that essence out. He seems to be well suited for darker more complex roles.
