And that is exactly what I like about the relationship portrayed - it requires growth - they both helped each other grow- he came out of his hard shell and he helped her find her true identity and independence. The female is absolutely wonderful so determined, so strong willed - it’s just amazing

Giving up is always the easiest thing to do. But at the same time it is hard to give up someone you have a very deep relationship with - they had formed that kind of relationship- it was not just romance for ZY. What he had given her was her true identity - no one can give up on that

Like I said I stated my opinion and stand by it . Complex characters require a lot more thought and creativity and complex stories do too. That is a fact.

Yes a lot of people label LX. As toxic- but he is actually not. These people have no idea of what they are talking about. And they call ZY obsessed with LX which has a negative connotation . But what she actually is -is loyal , devoted and dedicated . These people who make these judgments thing that there is only fluff in a relationship which is a very immature way of thinking about it. LX and ZY admire and nurture each other and let Escher grow so much. They also go all the way for each others - tp call something like that toxic is not right

She is the only one who stood against him and questioned his competence in the beginning for the right reasons. It was not a competition for her. She just did not like who he was . There was no instant attraction here. For her it was not about being better at programming - it was more about how he treated people and everything else. He was so disrespectful.

In the beginning I also felt bad for Zhu Yun - not Gao . Gao was just annoying and had this superiority complex and went around boasting as to how he wants to do all this stuff. But Zhu Yun did not deserve that bullying from Li Xun and no that was not cute at all.

But yes in the initial episodes he is just plain unbearable and he improves later with Zhu Yun’s influence

No one writes stuff to just appease the audiences - if so then creativity would die. This drama has the most realistic portrayal of characters. The fact that the focus is such a damaged male - full of flaws is great. And yes all the characters have their flaws and these imperfections are what make the story interesting . Disclaimer: not being defensive - just stating my humble opinion. For story development the characters are important and here these flawed characters drive the story forward and make the drama an interesting watch

What people don’t get is that they both helped each other to grow and change throughout their relationship. LX became a better person because of ZY and ZY found her voice and her courage to make her own choices through LX. Th ey complemented each other beautifully

I love the way they are unwrapping the whole thing- dark crime dramas are the best !!

What a great analysis - completely agree. Gao really was a good for nothing with no achievements of his own. And yes LX had character development throughout the drama and ZY really nurtured and changed him from who he was in the beginning.
