I almost missed this! Great article. Did know know that Godzilla was an allegory. Wow! I probably saw the first one, I'm that old. It would be a rerun and I was a child watching a black and white Admiral cabinet tv.
Darn I glanced through the reviews and why why didn't they lead with SPOILER ALERT? Ugh I hate that. I do NOT want to know about the ending till I get to the ending thank you.
This should have a comedy tag. I'm up to ep 30 out of 39 . This is NOT a serious drama, it isn't your typical historical drama. Mu Guiying is good at strategy but her character is stubborn to the point of stupidity at times. The leads are supposed to be like 18 years old. And somehow Luo Jin reminds me of Pee Wee Herman in this drama. There, I said it. Sorry.
It's flat, 2 dimensional, the characters are like cardboard cut outs. The actors/actresses are very attractive, nice set but they don't make you care about them. I got through ep 8 and then of course stupid plot devises were deployed to set things back and I got tired of it and stopped. Haven't gone back to see next ep that was awhile ago.
What does it mean to be human? Do you have to be organic to be alive? AI is developing and there are even rights groups discussing what it will mean. If a being is sentient, will it/he/she have rights?
First impression 'this seems better and looks better than The Destiny of White Snake', later after seeing several…
the writing is better in The Destiny of White Snake. There's real relationship building. In Legend of White Snake there's "instant romance" like suddenly the leads love each other. How did that happen? They just looked at each other? It's entertaining (enough) but it doesn't make you care about the characters - there's not a lot of depth. I didn't like the last part of Ep 8 but might re-start the drama and fast forward through irritating segments.
Y'all it's finally available at Amazon, all 39 eps, all subbed! Some of you helped by nagging at Amazon for over 6 months. Well done! I'm starting it tonight after work!
will they commit to completing the subs? It's so frustrating when a group says they'll sub, they start then they slow down, then they just stop. This is why I never watch a Chinese drama unless all episodes are completely subbed. #LearnedMyLesson
It's too late to help me but it might help many people who haven't seen the drama yet.

But yeh the plot holes.
