"but if he harms one hair on Ling'er's head I'll be so beyond upset."Wdym?
Ye I know that now as I flicked through the raw of epi 25, it's just where my paranoid took me whilst getting ready for work. Put two and two together and got five.
"but if he harms one hair on Ling'er's head I'll be so beyond upset."Wdym?
Gonna guess that was Wu Zhu sneaking into the room the moment Wan'er left to fetch the cold medicine. Lot of foreshadowing also with with the serial killer making his way back to the capital (and seeing Fan Xian but not allowing himself to be seen) plus Cheng Ze finding out about Wan'er's brother's involvement in his assassination attempt. Hopefully I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling...
Uncle Robot returns! (properly this time). I've never missed a character so much...but if he harms one hair on Ling'er's head I'll be so beyond upset. Also 8.7* rating...nice <3 Well deserved.
Fingers crossed it is... I'd love to support their live stream financially but the opportunity just isn't there for the country I'm in so I'm cool with waiting. In the meantime the videos popping up on YouTube have my full attention (both Billy and Babe have the most gorgeous singing voices).
"Dream" didn't really hold my attention tbh. I wanted to like it as I I loved the couple from The Sign. They were way too cute together but IDK something didn't click with me. As I've tried GAP, Blank, and Dream it might just be me not vibing with the author (not a criticism of her work ofc, more a "me" issue). Not saying any of them are bad, just not for me. (I will give it a second look when it's done airing). However *this* looks very much my thing so I'll probably have more luck here as I love historical dramas...looks like a lot of fun. Also I can't think of many historical GL settings outside of (censored) baihe stories like Couple of Mirrors.
I blinked and this drama made it to an 8.8* rating..which is too awesome. So happy that so many people have enjoyed it as it's in my top three dramas for 2024. Looking forward to re-watching this in the future anyway <3 I'm just happy it's getting so much exposure after it's initial release date. Truly a work of art.
The CGI. make-up and costume design are all on a whole other level here...visually it's one of the most beautiful dramas I've seen to date, Whilst xianxia isn't necessarily my favourite genre it's fun to shake things up and keep trying new things. Quite captivated by this with all the gorgeous visuals and scenery <3. Onto episode 7 but I'm glad I went with my instincts and gave this one a try. Just what I needed after all the heavy murder and political dramas I usually watch lol.
My guess is we'll end up seeing Nirvana in Fire season 3 early next year but I hope I'm wrong. If we did get NiF and JoL I think 2024 would be a phenomenal year for dramas from those two titles alone (and tbh 2019 was pretty much amazing...it's around that time I fell in love with c-dramas).
Otherwise, I agree with everything you said. This is one series that was certainly worth the wait and quality takes time. I just hope it's sooner rather than later as I'd love nothing more than to see further seasons of Sword Snow Stride.
thai dramas are not always great... i only liked few rest for me ...1. to much sexual content over the plot. 2…
From my fairly limited experience (I've watched c-dramas almost exclusively up til a year or so ago)...when Thailand makes an amazing BL drama, it truly is amazing. There are a fair few I'd consider as works of art tbh if we're talking about the likes of A Tale of Thousand Stars, Not Me, 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us etc ("Sunset" seems to have slipped my list, once I've dabbled in j-BLs I'll be sure to check it out so thanks).
Not gonna slight on k-BLs ofc until I've looked more into them.
Alright, after today's JoL episode I think I'm going to start watching this as I have zero impulse control and no new Heroes episodes are subbed yet 🤣(not a complaint, Heroes is a wonderful series and I'm fine with waiting patiently for it). I'm quite looking forward to this, it feels like years since I've last watched a xianxia and when I looked through the first episode our lady foxes were beyond beautiful.
I've never watched the first season but decided to try the second season because the trailer looked good and I…
I watched the first season and for a reason I can't quite remember I rated it quite low...I might have to revisit it when this season is over and with fresh eyes I think. I started watching this mainly for the Thai setting and there aren't many detective shows currently airing. I'm glad I did, the character interactions are priceless sometimes and I'm enjoying the cases a lot.
Off to watch the new episode anyway! But I certainly have no complaints over this season so far, it's been great.
Ah, nice...feels like I've been waiting forever for this <3. (Honestly, I was beginning to get scared we'd never get to see it and I love this series).
Yes I noticed this so thank you! Otaku isn't allowing new people to register until next month (I think? not a problem as I'm patient) so I stuck the drama on hold for now until I can get on there. Hopefully, all goes well their end.
I am fine with this actor being a cheater, as he is not handsome, famous and has played mostly negative and grey…
That's an interesting take but honestly I can see the logic in it. And hey if it helps you enjoy the drama all the better right (high BP and stress levels are never a good thing). Currently watching the first episode myself and it looks like I might have another drama to watch as it airs >.> this is way too good and interesting...
I mean, there is one scene quite late in The Sign where they name-drop both GAP and Secret Crush on You in quick succession and I found it hilarious. I'd checked out both dramas previously and if I hadn't I'd have been tempted to check them out at least. Going on what you said it sure seems like less is more.
I wasn't too sold on the first episode of this back when it premiered. I find the two lead actresses adorable together so I really wanted to like it but it felt off...I hope it gets better and I'll give it a second look when it's done airing. I am glad we're getting a lot more GL dramas however.
How about those that dont like it move on to another show and let those who want to stick discuss the aesthetics,…
Very much this. Criticism is great but personally I'd just want to say something once (if it all as I'm lazy) and then move onto to something I like and enjoy watching. Trolling exists but I'll never understand people posting spoilers, acting aggressive and putting so much time and effort into convincing people to be miserable and hate something just because they do.
To those enjoying the drama, great. I'm looking forward to checking it out once I've finished Heroes.
Teng Zi Jing's murder traumatised me more than a tad, and likewise Lai Ming Cheng's flogging to death was plain brutal 😭 I love this series a lot but my lord does it have some painful moments...that sequence in the rain with Fan Xian holding his (previously cast-aside) umbrella over LMC's body was so haunting.
I must agreed. Her eyes is so beautiful and her forehead as well, lol. You are watching Heroes, how was that?…
Heroes...I think the way I'd describe it is it's very much a classic wuxia in a late Qing Dynasty setting which I find quite fascinating. Certainly a unique drama and I'd recommend at least trying it out (especially if you like the actors (Liu Yu Ning and Maggie Huang are very, very good IMO). I'm also watching JoL season 2 and completely love it, it's my favourite airing drama right now (closely followed by Uncle Samsik). I'm planning on watching Connection as well, possibly Bitter Sweet Hell. Way too many interesting dramas airing this month really so I'm trying to work out which to prioritse first. But certainly Yang Mi is a stunning (and talented) actress...she was very good in In the Name of the Brother so I want to see more of her acting I think. Plus it's been a while since I last watched a xianxia and I'll take it as a sign if it's caught my eye :). Happy drama watching!
I don't think I'll have time to watch another c-drama right now but the previews look amazing. Yang Mi looks so beautiful and she really suits playing a fox spirit! The lady has the most gorgeous eyes. I hope this drama is fantastic and everyone enjoys it (I'll probably pick it up when Heroes is finished airing).
