OK, I freely admit I am a complete fangirl but I'm loving this so much. I'm so happy most of the OG cast returned (although I do miss Xiao Zhan :( he's a fine actor but I do like the replacement YBY well enough) and the first two episodes were great. Starts with a bang and it just gets better from there, and Wang Juan's beautiful sense of humour is as on point as ever (especially coupled with Zhang Ruoyun and Tian Yu's perfect sense of comedic timing).
Few things live up to the hype (especially five years of hype no less) but this is the exception I think. Thank god we get episodes daily.
Does anyone happen to know the artist/ title of the ending song for this? I seem to have acquired a new track to obsess over and I've had no luck finding it on YouTube as of yet...
Now *this* is the sort of drama I'd love to see more of. Political scheming, bromance, complicated and interesting characters, a fascinating historical period...just perfect. Well worth the wait. (also I'll probably want to re-watch this as I'm currently captivated watching this instead of getting ready to go out like I should be 🤣ooops).
What an interesting and well-written drama- going to miss looking forward to this each week :(. Think I'll track down the webtoon and perhaps re-watch this again afterwards (kinda went into this blind on purpose).
It's going to be very interesting to see how this one turns out... (I'm gonna stay neutral until it's out, I half expected this adaption to never get aired NGL).
Eeeehhh...the trailer for this is so cringe-worthy. I'm not generally opposed to vampire stories, but I couldn't…
What I'd love is a vampire story with horror elements...not necessarily completely dark and serious but certainly more Anne Rice than Stephanie Meyers. I'll still check out the first episode of this as well as Revamp to see what they're like.
This has been so, so enjoyable to watch this week - time-consuming sure, but I couldn't resist as I love this drama so much. JoL has always been one of the rare series to get a solid 10* out of me, not because it's perfect (indeed, what is?) but because of the fantastic acting, the interesting and thought-provoking storyline, and the fact it just seems to get better when you re-watch it.
The only reason this gets a 9* not a 10* is because I wouldn't re-watch it. Whilst I get this is a streamlined version they cut too many of those fun, character-building scenes (like where Teng Zi Jing confronts Fan Xian over stealing his son's sweets, too funny) which I adore too much, A great drama for anyone wanting to re-fresh their memory of the first seasons' events leading to the second season.
I'm sorry for being extremely off topic with this question but are there any character-driven j-bls you'd recommend?…
Yep, I've seen 180 Degree and I loved it but I appreciate it won't be for everyone (the same goes for 7 Days Before Valentine). It was the ending I expected and my only real complaint with 180 Degree was if there was a prequal drama with Wang's parents and In it would probably have been an easy 10* for me. I just wanted more backstory I guess as I liked the characters so much (In especially, I love his mindset). Especially Wang's mother which surprised me a little. Out of habit I seem to gravitate towards heavier dramas but I'm not adverse to something lighter if the story and characters are interesting. I took a brief look at The Novelist and it's the sort of drama I can appreciate the need to take your time with and possibly re-watch (not an issue, I love it when a drama gives me a reason to give it a second look). And yep, they won't run away :). May is just too good for upcoming dramas. But thanks, I think I've checked out most the Thai BLs I found interesting (for now) and am quite looking forward to watching the ones I've made a list of. Have a great day xxxx
Assuming there will be one more week of flashbacks and then back to present day (the pacing is making me cautiously optimistic nothing will be rushed but we'll see).
Also, both Ming and Tong are complete arses and should not be allowed around decent human beings, Joe deserves way, way better and Sol is surprisingly adorable. It's quite nice how May is a sweet and supportive sister and I'm assuming she'll be the one to give Ming a much-needed telling off somewhere in-the-near future.
Still in awe at just how good this adaption is...both Poom and Up are fantastic. Only six days to go until the next one :(.

That's a shame about the manga...I'll be watching this drama when it finishes airing anyway. For some reason May is just chaotic with so many interesting series coming out! I'll take a look at your rec's so thanks a lot for that. The no HS/ college thing is a preference not a rule - if the plot is good and the characters are interesting that's all I'd look for. Funnily enough The Novelist was one of the two series I'd been looking to start with, the other being Utsukushii Kare, But thanks so much again I'm making a note of those titles to check out after (bad/ open endings aren't a problem with me, I quite enjoy them if the story's good).
I just had a conversation about Deep Night with someone who thinks, love is only between two people, and if three…
Ah yes. It's always interesting when someone thinks what they believe and experience about love and relationships applies to everyone else. Like with so many people all with their own thoughts, values, and experiences there can really be a "one size fits all" when it comes to these things (no pun intended ofc). So long as all parties are consentual and honest with each other that should be enough right? ...And thank you. That was a very interesting comment to see returning to this page to see if I'll take another look at this drama or not 🤣
I tried to stick with it because JBLs have always been my favorite, but I'm done. I see that many commenters identify…
I'm sorry for being extremely off topic with this question but are there any character-driven j-bls you'd recommend? Preferably not in a school/ college setting. I really enjoyed the first episode of this and have been downloading it week to week (I love the concept). I'm just wondering if it's a good idea to read the manga first.
Honestly, I'm fine with Joy of Life being a trilogy as long as they maintain the same quality. The novel was quite…
Hopefully the quality will hold up. Assuming the third season will also be around 36 episodes that will be (roughly) 118 episodes to cover the 746 chapters. Plus we're into the "fun" part of the plot now, and given how excellent the first season was that's saying something. And with some luck we won't be waiting until 2029 for the third season! (and perhaps even hear something of a second season for Sword Snow Stride in the meantime. I can dream >.<).
Not overly sold on the first episode unfortunately :(. I'll give it a second look when it's done airing I think as there's just way too many good dramas coming out in the next week or so. Both leads are so frikken beautiful however...

(also who am I kidding? Of course it's going to be awesome).
Six hours left and counting <3

Thanks so much for the link.

Bad ending if you wanted Joe/ ZX to get the F away from that guy.
