...Gonna need to stick a bunch of the shorter dramas I'm watching on hold I think. Both this and JoL's special edition (and second season ofc) are gonna eat up so much of my free time 🤣. (Also not complaining, I've been looking forward to this drama for over a year now).
Oh, and it's part of the Lights On series too...(probably should have caught on to that more quickly, gonna blame the current heatwave where I live). Episodes 1-4 just dropped on IQIYI anyway, happy watching guys and girls!
I just noticed this...the episodes are over an hour long each and episodes 4-5 are out tomorrow (and it seems…
I'm just watching the first episode as I'm about to head out but...
So far they changed the beginning to include a hospital scene and the "present" Fan Xian dying and being reborn (and transmigrating) rather than the previous one where he's pitching his story concept. Closer to the novel.
From there it looks like they added/lengthened a couple of scenes (there's a couple of things I don't remember) and the first episode of the SE is episodes 1-2 of the previous, 46 episode version. Not sure how much they'll add but it will be fun finding out.
OMG , Joy of Life Special Edition released by Tencent!!!there are 3 episodes i think
I just noticed this...the episodes are over an hour long each and episodes 4-5 are out tomorrow (and it seems like two new ones every day this week). Guess I know what I'll be watching until season 2 comes out lol.
Wow, already ep 32, only 8 more to go. Every one of the episodes have been really interesting to me. Again, like…
I remember reading one comment on here saying MDL watchers are allergic to non-romance dramas and finding that very amusing. You get some excellent dramas getting a higher rating (War of Faith was sitting roughly at 8.5* whilst airing, but just checking it now it dropped to 8.3* - still decent IG).
For the most part I just ignore ratings and look at comments. Currently rating this at a 7.5* as the violence is a tad excessive for me (I know, violent time period, just feels a tad much at times) but I'll probably bump the rating up depending on how the last episodes turn out. Quite the interesting drama to watch until JoL season 2 starts airing.
Hmm... this one is a bit odd, and not exactly in a good way. It's definitely not boring, but there are many potential…
I'm on the fence here too. I quite liked the first episode, it was certainly very distinctive and not what I had been expecting. But certainly I feel this is one of those dramas that could be exceptional if the writers do a good job and I sure hope that's the case. May is sort of a chaotic month for interesting k-dramas anyway so I'll wait until this is done airing (and reading the comments) before watching it. Fingers crossed everything goes well and people enjoy it.
Mainly here for Kao and I legit fell in love his character at first sight. Empathic, highly articulate and intelligent, and simply very likeable. I'm curious as to how they'll depict an asexual romance here (if it gets to that point). I don't end up watching many romcoms but the drama is genuinely hilarious and all the characters have diverse and interesting personalities. Yak especially was extremely funny and wow is Great easy on the eyes...what a gorgeous-looking man.
it was especially the *psychological* that drew my attention, lol. I'm not into fantasy but I am happy to see…
Likewise. Anything psychological will always catch my eye as it's one of my favourites (also looking forward to The 8 Show!). Out of curiosity I just did a search for psychological/ fantasy and there's only 13 dramas listed - well, 14 now with TAF. Certainly a rare combination (I'm not the biggest fantasy fan but I don't mind it).
...Psychological *and* fantasy genre tags? OK, this has my attention as that's a promising combination. (why are there so many interesting-looking k-dramas airing in May? O.o)
🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩...i am curious how they will act out this kind of 🚩 relationship.
It is going to be very interesting finding out... Up is doing such a great job as Ming so far I'm honestly curious if I'll wind up despising the character as much as I did in the novel (especially if they have toned down his actions). Other than that, the first two episodes were excellent and next Friday seems so far away >.>.

Might be why I was confused too tbh.

I'll never say no to a good crime drama anyway.

Not wanting any spoilers but is it done well?

(It's such a huge shame we won't see the guy in dramas anymore :( he's an excellent actor and I really miss his work)
