Ye sorry I meant tag not genre, I've had an insane week. And I didn't mean to imply they were similar shows, just agreeing with Rain and coffee the past few k-thrillers I've watched have involved infidelity. My bad!
I didn't know this was getting a second season or it was airing like right now...that's awesome. It's always nice to have a mystery show to look forward to watching over my morning coffee.
I'm going to get some flak for saying this, but Wu Xing Jian's Yan Bing Yun is a vast improvement over Xiao Zhan's…
No I think you're quite right, Wu Xing Jian is certainly doing a stellar job. I loved the scene between Yan Bing Yun and his father discussing the future of the Investigation Bureau (especially when YBY flat out insists his own father he can be replaced but Chen Pingping can't lol. I love his personality tbh).
Quite agree with the humour (albeit season 1 could get quite slapstick at times) but I'm hoping that settles down once the story progress...also yes please yet Fan Shi Zhe return soon! Broke my heart seeing him leave :(.
(I might be weird but I quite liked the yodeling music. I just wish I hadn't taken a sip of water the first time it popped up)
I swear, cheating husband was never my thing. But this is going to my third show about it..
Yep, the preview looks decent but...after My Happy Ending, Hide, Wonderful World and Nothing Uncovered (dropped the last one) I'm getting fatigued over the genre. No harm in at least checking out the first episode or two IG.
This is certainly making me remember and relive certain parts of my life. Honestly, if I never hear the term "one day you'll find someone special and understand!" again it will be way too soon. I'd imagine it's like a gay person being told they'll find someone of the opposite sex and understand...not a pleasant thing to hear and certainly quite uncomfortable. There's nothing worse and more painful than loving someone completely on both an emotional and spiritual level, everything clicks, and then having that person turn around and accusing you of lying or leading them on as you don't feel anything sexually - everything is fine, then sex and physical imtimacy comes up and all went to s***. Took me a while to open up and trust someone again after that. As well as coming to terms with my sexuality. Anyway...certainly a very important and interesting series.
Episode 4, just WOW, what an episode. I LOVED how Joe stood up for himself and left Ming and I also LOVED Sol…
I think this adaption does an amazing job of helping us understand (well, as best as we can) Ming's motivations and thought processes. That phone call especially when Tong was ordering Ming to keep Joe away from the press conference was perfect. The moment Sol's name was mentioned you could that darkness creep into Ming's eyes and honestly Up's so beyond impressive in his role - I couldn't think of anyone better tbh. He makes it extremely hard to dislike the character sometimes (but I'm still trying my best to do so 🤣 ).
Ming is...honestly a character I despise but that last scene from episode 4 got me. The very idea of him always returning to Joe's house, making sure the lights are on and the smell of food lingers in the air (as Joe mentioned earlier) was very touching and I don't tend to tear up easily. The very picture of grief and loss really and I could honestly believe he'd done the same thing every day for two years.
Tong however I fully agree with you and have much less mixed emotions over him. The guy's got some severe bad karma racking up against him and I hope we see the full force of it hit him upside the head in the near future. The guy has no positive qualities and is a manipulative and conniving little s***
Joe, well, what can I say? I love the character and he deserves so much better, be it with Sol or someone else. Poom's no less than Up when it comes to excellent acting and they're really making this drama something special (even if it is *very* hard to watch at times.
Now this does sound very interesting and it's quite rare we get female-centric stories that aren't focused on romance, so something a bit different! Plus a historical thriller no less and I love the genre, wish we got more of them really. Ye Ping An sounds like quite the intriguing character *adds to list* c-dramas are pretty much 🔥right now which is awesome. Hopefully this airs soon.

A little but not nearly enough to understand and appreciate an audiobook unfortunately...I do have a pdf of the novel and I'll try and pick out a nice text to speech voice that doesn't completely butcher character and place names 🤣but thank you!

12k pages....I think that's something I'll "read" through text to speech whilst exercising. But yes that will certainly take a couple of weeks to get though.

Ah, well that's certainly nice to know :). I've read the beginning chapters before but I wanted to wait until we got season 2 until I picked it up again. It's certainly next on my list.

:( Oh trust me, you have my full sympathy ! But I hope you enjoy the re-watch (and don't get too mad ) But definitely it's nice to see TZJ is gone and not forgotten even after quite some time has passed. I remember throughout season 1 people kept referring to him as "just a guard" and Fan Xian's reaction as that's his first true friend :( I just wish we'd seen more of the character really.

I still gave it a 10* as I love the series but I agree that was way too painful and I refuse to ever re-watch that scene (but I simply adore the scene where Fan Xian avenges him, it's amazing).
Teng Zijin won't be back!!! 🥲🥲🥲If only he faked it too!!!
😭 (JoL was one of the first ever c-dramas I watched and TZJ's death I think traumatised me more than just a little bit. I still don't think I'm over it lol).

Just wonderful, I'm loving the new characters a lot.
