Confrontation between Kang hoons dad who has similar abilities to the north Korean spy with jang ju won and after…
I SO agree with you, Erkan. One season format is what many like about ROK dramas. Rarely do multiple seasons do better or as well than the original 1st season in dramas.
Chalk it up to Westeners wanting to control the narrative in EVERYTHING. Agreeing with booaugust, I searched using…
Folks I know who have seen the movie or who have read the novel who are from the North (Yankees as Southerners called them) really didn't care one way or the other, since they know they were dipicted that way because of the writer's bent toward the South. As my Yankee husband (now an ex) said at the time, the writer published her disappointment in the South the best way she knew how.
I am scared to watch after reading most of the comments 🫠
Same. I put this on hold when it started airing due to the comments, and started today. Not half way in on the first episode and it doesn't "feel" like S1, so...

I'll rephrase: I didn't have sympathy for the South. I "rooted" for the north knowing the Union won IRL, not rooting for their behavior depicted in the movie. In the movie, yes, the Northeners/Union soldiers were depicted as such. Remember this was a story written by a southerner and had an extreme bias toward the southern way of living in that era. Actually if you talk to many now in the south they still think the south won and they'd have slaves if they were allowed by law.
That kiss was too vanilla for me. The 2 main leads are inspired by 2 basically avant-garde, mainstream and popular…
I wasn't referencing everyone I have not met in real life. That would be absurd. Offering explanations of WHY the kiss wasn't "passionate" were met above with distain, yet you focused on my comment of the differences in perspective. Totally agree with the "more goodness" aspect.

I'd have to read that 20 times to understand what the heck you said. I abhor bullying. I pointed out the difference in younger viewers who haven't the life experience and older viewers who have, the dif in cultures also.

"and what's immature is for someone to judge the audience's interpretation on something subjective." Then we are ALL immature. The only problem I had with the "scene" was the editing. Someone did a poor job.
This is actually not the remake of it but inspired for some parts only as the writer points out
So you spew "Some lines are literally straight from the novel." yet won't post the lines. LOL. Knew there weren't any and I've noticed you like to sling in hopes it'll stick in many of your comments. LOL. If the writer could read your comments, LOL, she'd have a great defamation suit. You do know what someone is called when they say "I have no need to back up my words.", don't you?

Very well stated, Kate. EXACTLY THIS!!! It might be the lack of maturity/life experiences of some of the viewers to have wanted a "passionate" kiss between 1 person wanting to protect who he loves and 1 person who (at that point) didn't know if she liked him or not because her heart was still with another. We tend to forget it depends on the country, the age, and maturity level of viewers when they comment. Westeners are used to seeing "Hello,-falls-into-bed-together-the-next-second" shows and I'm sure it's hard for them to contain their controlling nature by having multiple complaints when it comes to other countries standards.
people has been mentioning GWTW a lot here, is it a drama? or novel? i want to know more about it 🧐
Chalk it up to Westeners wanting to control the narrative in EVERYTHING. Agreeing with booaugust, I searched using Internet Archive Gone With the Wind full length movie using Google, and bam, there it was. I watched it in theater when I was barely 13. Read the novel in my teens. Both are ingrained in my memory since I'm from the South (and I was rooting for the Union).

Before the next episode is out, could you list the "More than inspired by… Some lines are literally straight from the novel." for everyone who has never read the novel or the movie? I read the novel in my teens and saw the movie when I was 13. I'm 67 now, so if you could remind me... It would be greatly appreciated if you could back up your words.
as "Sword of Aramun" releases next month, Season 1 of Arthdal Chronicles is now streaming on Disney+ in Asia (seen…
On the largest streaming site one can find Arthdal Chronicles episodes 1-18 under, of course, Arthdal Chronicals. So don't search the internet for 3 distinct "seasons". It has 3 parts, as most chronicles are a continuation of the previous part.
Is it possible for you to reword your review to reflect Arthdal Chronicles has 3 Parts named accordingly with 6 episodes each? It isn't broken down into "seasons". Arthdal fans know it's a continuing story rather than 3 separate "seasons" which stand alone (as a season is defined). Thank you so much in advance.
