Thank you for the long response, which I love. I completely understand and agree. I was hoping your answer would add to the the convo and it does, tremendously.

True. It's known that a significant number of lottery winners face severe financial troubles within a few years of winning, with many of them filing bankruptcy. One would think the first decision would be to obtain a financial advisor.

Why do you think the writer used Yeonsangun in relation to this drama? This particular king? One would think that given his history most writers would want to steer clear of such a historically despised king. Granted I've watched only 4 eps, still, using one (of two) of ROK's worst monarchs to 'romanticise' appears to be reaching for a low point in writing. What did using Yeonsangun bring to the story?

I feel like this show had a 10 episode script, and they used flashbacks and heavy editing to stretch it to 12…
I agree about the flashbacks. They hit a nerve with me when they rehash the old and offer no new info. It's lazy writing, purely and simply making the viewers feel less than capable of retaining what we've already seen. My rating is lowered for excessive 'repeat scenes' in a drama.

Person Ro Woon
"his agency confirmed that Ro Woon officially began his service on October 27, 2025." WOW, His agency are fortune tellers. They should be able to foresee all future endeavors that will be regarded as masterpieces and get their actor in as the main lead. Today's date October 6, 2025 reading of the profile.

I am hesitant to start this drama. Generally i like nostalgia and very emotional youth drama otherwise i feel…
Being older, this year, I decided not to add any youth dramas, based on high school in particular. The older I get the more I see them as kids. Like little kids. TL is dif. Very few in school scenes, and those are included to show the relevance of the class bully who isn't the typical bully we've seen in all the other dramas, and the teacher who will be in the leads' lives. Still, she isn't the typical 'teacher' like in the other dramas. It's immersive. The relationship dynamics of everyone involved in the mains' lives, and of them, were a heavy watch. By the 3rd Ep I made myself not binge the rest. I could only take 2 or 3 eps at a time. I checked your list and going by your ratings, TL might or might not be a drama you'd like. Your ratings are quite mixed. I liked it, a lot. Enjoy wouldn't be a good description while watching.

Too much. I'll go with I'm thinking too hard about a fictional drama. Maybe on a rewatch I'll see it more clearly. Thank you.

1. It's wrong to take a creative/fictional approach on such a sensitive matter.2. It is redefining our belief.3.…
"And also l'm sure Netflix's PR team likely researched the cultural sensitivity of this show carefully before it was even allowed to be released." Very unlikely. There are multiple examples that Netflix does not review the shows on its platform before they're released, nor reviews the translations.

Not if they think autism is caught or developed after a trauma. It's genetic.

You can't become autistic. It's not something you catch or develop, It also has no cure. Who the heck wrote this,…
Ludicrous, isn't it? I was astounded by the synopsis.
oppa_ Oct 5, 2025
Does the drama actually attributes the ML's autism to the loss of his mother? If so, that is ludicrous.

Alright, I have a question...why did Ye Yi Bo decide to move his wife's body and not right after he killed her? Why didn't he leave her wherever he buried her or whatever? What did I miss? Was it just a plot to prove he did kill her way back then, as told from the 2026 perspective?

I thought it cruel for Yu Nian to still remember her dad, Yi Xun/Zhi Jong, as evidenced by her looking at his name & phone number, when she woke to a brand new existence at the end. If the past was changed YX/YZJ wouldn't have been her dad, the one who'd raised her from 2005 to 2026 bc he wouldn't have met her bilogical father, Yu Zhi Hong, in prison since he didn't kill Ye Yi Bo's accomplice.

Why did they keep her memories intact when the past had been completely altered?
Wouldn't changing the past also wipe the knowledge of the letters bc there would BE no letters?
Wouldn't her 'memories' be more like a dream she'd had, and not reality?
She woke in a new reality so why weren't her 'memories' erased too?
Was allowing her to keep her memories to show the rest of the drama happened, or to provide a little HE for the viewers?
Am I thinking too hard about a fictional drama, or am I questioning why a fictional drama hasn't answered the 'problems' with most Time Travel dramas?

This is my first time watching Wang Ying Lu and Zhou Yi Ran, and I'm impressed too. I have been meaning to watch…
I had to question myself whether I viewed their immersive acting as based on both being new to me, like you, and it being a tragedy, until I compared it to other actors in highly rated dramas that are the same age, some with way more years under their belt than these two. Too, if the leads in those other highly rated dramas were the leads in TL would the intensity still be there, so my conclusion was No.

Both haven't been in the inustry too long (one for 7 yrs and the other 5 yrs) and they're already providing what veterans, who chose the entertainment industry as a lifelong career for them, have taken years to fully commit with their acting. There's a huge dif between the acting quality of 'Lifers' and the 'in it for the money but don't want to give it my all' actors. Thank you so much for adding your perspective!!!

I definitely haven't viewed them as actors playing their characters like I do in most other dramas. They've enbodied their roles.

I've never seen a bigger demon than Ye Yibo😭
His character is the typical Covert Narcissist. Every bit, his being the abuser and turning it around to appear as the victim while painting the one he abused as mentally ill, crazy, disturbed, is the 'real' abuser, etc was spot on. Narcissists in public, as referenced in the scene where Hai Tang was telling Yi Xun how her father acted in public, versus how he acted in private was represented in the dialogue perfectly, leaving nothing out. Her cutting all ties with him is known as No Contact. It's the only way to completely severe from a narcissist.

They don't behave like this once in a while. It's 24/7 with them. One doesn't wake wondering IF the narcissist will be different today. They wake wondering what new behavior or tactic will they be subjected to today. If anyone is questioning someone they know, their behavior, and wondering if he or she is a narcissist all they have to do is watch any scenes referencing this character. Or research like most of us did who were practically destroyed by an Overt or Covert narcissist.

We become experts on narcissism. People who have had a personal relationship with a Covert Narcissist (like here) or Overt call them demons bc they are. These demons aren't the normal selfish arrogant type of people. It's akin to a demon actually taking over the human body and wearing human looking skin.

His scenes hit me hard. It was still painful watching after having escaped from one 7 years ago. I've had 2 Overt and 3 Covert close relationships. Yes, I was a narcissist magnet. WAS, now in my older age.

Why do I comment at length about the narcissist in this drama? So others will be WARNED these demons do NOT change their ways. They get worse over time. The only thing to do is escape. Go No Contact. They retain what tactics have worked in the past, while trying new ones. They have no empathy, no compassion, do not love (the concept alludes them), and do not care for anyone (including family members) but themselves. Everything they do and say is to benefit themselves. They lie with every breath, which describes someone so habitually dishonest that deception is constant and involuntary. There are currently no psychology and psychiatry methods that are able to treat narcissists.

The only thing I dislike about TL is the fact that the character having been written so well tells me that the bro and sis writing team knows someone personally who is a covert narcissist. It's something no one who has ever had a relationship with one would hope anyone else has to experience.....hence my warning and probably their's.

*spoiler for length
