If you want to know why the birth rate in South Korea is the lowest worldwide, around 0.68 children per woman, then watch this series. It answers all your questions.
Be careful, anything other than rave reviews here will get you yelled at. I'm halfway through episode two and…
Yeah, seriously. I mostly blame the director. Gawin was never an outstanding actor, but he did well in his previous work. I liked Joss in 3 will be free. The whole production screams low budget.
have you seen the first ever trailer for the first season of Only Friends? cause it was just as bad if not worse.....…
Honestly, I think the first trailers are always better. The 1st Only Friends trailer had a more intresting story, and I liked the soundtrack in the second half. There are many other 1st trailers that are better than the final real product. KinnPorsche (I know not GMMTV): 1st trailer was badass! Great fight scenes that never made it into the final product, dark theme The Eclipse: very dark and interesting, final product was much lighter Thame Po: great soundtrack and great 1st trailer, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, 2nd trailer was nothing like that Peaceful Property: great series overall, but 1st trailer was better and more emotional Just to mention a few ...
That's what they got for all their hardships: bratty children. But they are still happy about it like fools. I will never understand what's going on in this generation's minds.
There are only 2 good things I can say about this episode: - The Thara woman seems very fierce and is a good actress. Normally, the older actors in BL are doing a terrible job, but that woman is good - The plot has some potential. The whole idea about the Golden Blood and what it is about, is very good. I wasn't expecting that.
Bad things - Gawin's acting is terrible, sorry, not sorry - The director has no clue how to create a great scene, from the music to the way the scenes are filmed and acted - there is no artistry. It looks very cheap.
This hits a bit too close to home for me since I have such parents, who were poor and did everything to bring money home for the family. But well, let's be real for a moment: Why popping out babies if you can't feed them? This stuff is not romantic. I lived through it, and I'm bitter and angry like the 3rd generation daughter, while my parents were proud that they somehow never gave up throughout their misery.
Okay, I'm now at episode 4, and this story is depressing. Since her mother's spirit is with her, and her mother cherished her so much, I thought this is the story of a strong woman becoming a poet, living her dreams, I sure like hell didn't expect a teenage pregnancy. The love story was also underwhelming until now. They used a lot of comedy with all the exaggerated crying. This is not meant to be criticism, since the writing is great. It's just that I feel depressed being a woman watching this series.
I'm only at episode 2. I love the storytelling, the nostalgia, the emotions and hardships of the characters - but I don't like the main leads. I love IU, don't know the guy, but it's not about the actors, the girl is soo dramatic and tsundere. The guy seems simple-minded and stupidly in love. I will keep watching for the story, hopefully the characters improve.

Selling the house? Now the daughter will feel the pressure and guilt forever, if they did so much for her.
But they are only 40. Was this intentional?
But they are still happy about it like fools.

Exactly.
It's depressing. They don't even try.
