I do agree, I am liking this story a lot, simple, but well executed, good acting, and JungWoo is...... too much…
Both of their friends would have been a better choice. Both are a bit shorter than the 1st male lead, since gymnasts aren't that tall. Both have a better posture and a good body. Both radiate enough confidence. But they went for the cute/clumsy/shy trope. Wasted potential. I sound bitter, sorry.
Cute story, typical Korean style, which means beautiful filming and good acting. I have butterflies watching it, and it really feels like Semantic Error: similar characters, similar personalities, similar development of the story. But like many others already said: the 2nd lead is not believable as a gymnast, not regarding his body, not regarding his personality. This character feels so made up in a sense that you wouldn't find him in real life. Doing competitive sports is hard on your body and mind. Han Ji Won comes across as your typical shy and cute guy who doesn't go much outside and never meets many people, a manga reader rather than an Olympic gold medalist. Everything about his body, the way he moves, how he runs, how he stands - it's not convincing. Same with his personality. They try to tell us how competitive he is, but we don't see it. Since we are watching a cute BL, let's not be too critical, but I wished they had casted someone else. There was this scene where he had to cool his leg, because apparently he was showing his skills earlier on some kind of event (I went back several times since I thought I missed a scene). But they just skipped it, because obviously he is not athletic. Out of topic: I still think about Dark Blue Kiss, where they opened up the series with Tay in his swim wear diving into the pool, and it looked soooo bad. Then the scene at the end, where he is already in the pool and New is diving in very randomly. His character was portrayed as clumsy and shy, but I‘m still laughing to this day because his dive was perfect. New was a swimmer. Just saying couldn't they find someone who has a tiny amount of experience in gymnastics? Or some other sport? Someone who has some muscle, good body control and a good posture? Since this is based on a manhwa, it really feels like the author just went for the cool/handsome and shy/cute trope without giving it much thought, if those characters are believable.
A man kissing a woman. You hardly find any women in BL, you sure like hell never see them kissing the main guy. Even in a series like Be My Favorite which basically was a love triangle, and the guy even married the woman in an alternative timeline - they never kissed.
I have never seen a hetero kiss in a BL before. Even in a rather explicit series like My Stubborn they make sure the main leads only kiss each other and no one else. It's like an unspoken rule nobody every dared to break.
I don't know why I keep watching this every week. Sorn keeps pissing me off more and more, now it's more than…
Lately, It got worse. I was praising this series, but come on! Sorn's logic makes no sense. He doesn't want to date a younger guy. But as long as nobody knows, it's fine. He just wants to hide it. If he hadn't done anything to Jun, because he is cautious, or if he avoids Jun, the logic would make sense since he doesn't want to be found in the same situation. Btw: He didn't avoid Mail either! He was kissing her. Jun just has to tell everyone what Sorn did. Like ... what are you complaining about when you can't keep it in your pants? And the whole "Jun is a kid", when Sorn is so childish and jealous. Apparently, they are only around 6 years apart or something. Jun is no minor either. "Sorn only cared about what he wanted in the end" - that's a thing too. From the very beginning, he was very tender and making sure Jun feels good. That's also the reason I forgave him a lot. He was madly in love with Jun, and despite some manipulative words, he was very caring in bed. Lately, it's just all about him getting off. It's honestly not nice to watch anymore. It makes me feel uneasy.
Why are you bothered? If this is not softporn, I don't know what is.
People are whining about everything here. That's MDL for you. I find both sides amusing: the ones who are thirsty af, and the ones who apparently don't like seeing sex scenes, which makes me wonder how they handle that stuff in real life.
It says for violence and profanity. I hope it doesn't turn into one of those violent bullying series.
I don't think they would rate it 18+ just for bullying. This rating indicates there is either graphic violence (I don't think they have the budget for that) or sexual scenes (I don't think Korea is going that far).
I started watching this and was pleasantly surprised since the beginning was unique and interesting. A stoic apparently rather cold blooded girl finds her dead uncle. Then the puzzle pieces. A serial killer. A police officer who suspects her of the murder. I was sold! Then she returns as this quirky strange genius profiler *yawn* Still, I had hopes. I almost dropped it, because I thought her character was unbearable to watch. I didn't understand her personality. People say, she had autism. Everyone who behaves strangely has autism nowadays. It just made no sense, if she had a trauma or not, or if she was just naturally quirky and annoying, but it was not fun to watch. Then the guy started trusting her and working with her. At the same time, I started to like her more. So I was in for the ride again! But then the next disappointment: the whole case is about corruption. Yeah. How unique! Is there any damn thriller/crime kdrama that is NOT about corruption? It's also always the same type of corruption: some big redevelopment projects start, politicians and police officers are involved. It's every f*cking time the same! *yawn* Looking back, I felt that none of those characters had a personality that was in any way relatable. And that has nothing to do with the quirkiness, but with the writing. Who even were those people? No idea. They didn't make me care for them for a second.
Okay, I read some comments. It seems people liked the bathroom scenes. I didn't. It was the first sex scene I didn't like. I praised the series for the raw and beautiful looking love scenes. There was nothing beautiful about that scene, that's for sure. But I don't mind. I feel like watching a different series though, because this was emotionally a very heavy episode. They are really going down the drama route. Both Jun and Sorn showed strange behavior after that bathroom scene. I'm baffled how complex this is, despite on first glance looking so simple and "without plot". It's past midnight where I live, but I will make it short: You must really trust or love someone if you let him treat you like Sorn treated Jun in this bathroom. People are all into different stuff, I know, I know, but there was some humiliation involved for sure. Jun looked very vulnerable later on, he brought it upon himself this time, though. Still, he isn't the type to hook up with everybody. Lots of men around him (delivery guy, blond guy, Franz guy etc.), but he didn't do much with anyone of them. So now he lets Sorn do this to him, but they are still no boyfriends? Then the issue with the marks on his neck. He got again in trouble, got accused of something which wasn't his fault. Sorn coming to his rescue, standing in front of him, shielding him, not doubting him for a second, was a very important scene. I guess it was this scene that lead Jun to telling him, he likes him more now. In the car Jun moved back when Sorn came closer. Jun looked not that well throughout the whole episode. Sorn inviting him to his hometown was the right move to bring this relationship to the next level, because it seemed that Jun was slowly retreating despite telling him that he likes him more now. How he made sure to introduce Jun to everybody was very wholesome. He looked like he was proud of his boyfriend and wanted everyone to meet him. Jun not wanting to drink alcohol, because then Sorn is scolding shows at least that Sorn's influence isn't bad - compared to his brother. Well, enough about their emotional state, let's talk about the sex scenes again: I'm as intrigued as I'm worried. If they keep this up, and I mean the actors, not the characters, this really feels like watching gay porn with the only difference that you know (or you think you know) the people on screen. Their scenes are very raw, their chemistry seems real. I feel like they reinvented the genre, because I have never watched such scenes where I could connect so much with the characters. And before someone thinks, I'm praising the series for this - not really. I'm worried how far they will go. We are only halfway through. They shouldn't overdo it. Sex sells, we all know, but this is getting ridiculously explicit. Whatever. You need some balls to pull this off.
I sound bitter, sorry.

That said, Jun didn't have much control in that scene though
