Is this a good series with a good story or is this just something people drool over because of the good looking actors and the BL subtext? Because it really feels to me that this is a rather cheesy production, the acting isn't outstanding and the story is not engaging at all. The bad voice acting of Chinese Dramas is also something I have a hard time get used to ...

The guys of Addicted/Heroin became stars over night. That was before the ban though. China has a strong BL fandom.

LOL, funny to see how the exaggerated rating drops. This started out INCREDIBLE strong, but went downhill with lightening speed. I would say the first four/five episodes were pure masterpiece, but well ... talking about missed opportunities.

Regarding Trapped: those livestreams were painful to watch. Like @Sayd said there was so much drama ... I have never seen this before. The director had to apologize for this and that. Every fault they found in the series was somehow the directors fault. I think it was Chris Wu who felt the need to step up for her, which didn't make the situation any better. He talked in an interview about a "hot" scene and this was somehow misleading, so he apologized. (We got a hot scene in the end though). They threatened her so she even deleted her social media accounts. This was insanely stupid. Those fans were extremely demanding. It was horrifying.

The story is all over the place. XHT falling in love so suddenly with YXG is the biggest weakness of the whole series. It just makes no sense. Everything is so exaggerated: the romance, their feelings, the humor. The result is a rather empty idea of love with lots of fan service, but not much depths. They should stuck to less episode. I feel they get lost along the way if the series has to many episodes. Still it was a nice watch, but yeah, it could have been definitely better. Like in Trapped I felt there were many unnecessary scenes while important things were left out.

The people on this site are very critical and like to discuss. This series is overall well received, so people will argue when you don't like it. But it's the same the other way around. Enjoy a show others are hating – good luck with that!

"PeteKao weren't a good couple since KMA. I think people misunderstood them with TayNew." The quality of a couple is mostly defined by their chemistry in this genre. They had chemistry and they had some good dialogues and the development of the relationship wasn't that bad either. There was some growth and change in the characters. But their story was very cliche and questionable. I'm still not over that scene when Kao knocked Pete out until he was unconscious. I wonder to this day why the writers went so far. It was not cute.

Korn&Knock are also popular, but they always had a very questionable and rather toxic relationship. People are going crazy over Tharn&Type lately. Their relationship is also ... strange. Tin&Can has many fans – also a very questionable relationship with a character who was more or less forced to kiss the other. Oh, and there is Addicted/Heroin ... the list is long.

TharnType is soooo bad. Let's be real for a minute. I wanted to give it a chance, but it's getting worse and worse. I feel like losing brain cells watching it. It doesn't turn me on either, otherwise I would still follow it. I'm not that high and mighty to drop it just because the story is not to my liking if other things work for me. But this is just ... sigh. Both characters are just weird if you think about it. Tharn was lusting for Type from the very beginning (creepy!) and Type is just playing very ugly games. And then they sell this as "love". Jesus ...

In KMA Kao seemed rather open about his sexuality. I remember clearly how he looked at Sun with those heart eyes LOL. I thought he makes it so obvious that he is into men and I didn't feel like he would be a person to hide it. He was also well aware of Sun being interested in him. Of course this doesn't mean that he will tell happily his friends and his mother that he is gay, but still ... I didn't expect this.

When I watched the trailer I thought Kao would mess the relationship up. Well, in fact he is, but still they make it look like Pete is at fault. This is extremely annoying.

Whoever thought 3/4 pants on Kao would be a good idea? He is dressed so silly in this series.

Well, I guess, there always must be that ONE person who ruins the party and in this case it's me. I'm not enjoying this anymore. I'm not interested in those rather pointless making out scenes. Maybe if you're a gay teenager this is nice to watch. No idea. For me some of their romantic scenes are too cheesy, the comedic scenes too cringy and exaggerated, and all of this combined with the NSFW scenes it's just a very strange mix. I think there is a lot of chemistry between the main couple (it really feels like Wayne is into HJZ), but at the same time their love feels so empty. There is more chemistry between the actors than the characters. I just cannot fangirl over this anymore. I'm surprised and sad that this series doesn't appeal to me at this point, because I was the biggest fan at the beginning. This will be my last comment. I don't want to ruin the fun for others :(

Compared to the other shows airing at the moment, I start to think DBK is a masterpiece. I mean it's painfully slow, but you can find some depth occasionally. Objectively speaking it's really not that bad. I guess I'm just really disappointed in this season ...

The Pete&Kao scenes were nice. It felt a lot like Our Skyy with the date, the bus ride etc. More such scenes would be appreciated. Kao also seemed a bit more like the Kao we knew from back then, but maybe it's just my imagination. He was a bit more lively in some of the scenes, not having such a dull expression on his face.

Now you make me curious about ep 8. I completely forget that I can watch it with subtitles now ...

It's too easy to say "People don't like it, because there are no kissing/sweet scenes". I remember how much I loved Korn & Knock in Bad Romance and there were only two (very stiff) kisses. People even complained that those two guys are homophobic, because they looked like they don't want to kiss. But the chemistry was undeniable and they even got two sequels as main characters. What many people dislike about DBK is that the chemistry seems lost and the plot isn't exciting. I didn't watch the last episode (apparently that was a good one, I'll watch it later), but until now I'm not impressed by the intimacy that is portrayed mostly because I dislike Kao's character a lot and everything feels just off and strange. In KMA he was my favorite.

I wish for some emotion rollercoaster too.
Lately they focused more than necessary on cute/hot romance stuff and comic relief scenes while neglecting the plot and the characters. I feel like there should be more about the characters, but maybe ... that's it? For example I'm still waiting for some kind of character development regarding XHT. At the moment his character is defined by his love for YXG which I'm not a fan of. He is so in love that he wants to do his best and change his ways. So what would happen if YXG broke up with him? Going back to his old self? The whole falling-in-love happened so fast that you really wonder if the falling-out-of-love will happen at a similar speed (I know it won't, this is HIStory after all). I just hope the next episode offers more than "Now we are preparing for having sex" though I'm sure people will go crazy over some hot scenes. I'll too.

I know about HT getting into college. But 3 episodes for this seems a bit too much. Maybe they will surprise us ... I'm not really wishing for some kind of conflict though. I'm just confused that people are like THIS IS SOOO GOOD NOW AND BEFORE IT WAS SOOO BORING, when there is nothing interesting to look forward at the moment.

This is still the most entertaining and unique series of the BL season, but personally I lost a bit of interest. All we get is cuteness overload. I just feel like they have finished telling the story at this point. With only three more episodes to come I don't think we are in for big surprises. I really liked the bullying plot (first 3 episodes), then they suddenly felt in love (very suddenly), but it was nice to see how it played out (ep 4-6), now ... what's now? The question how to have sex so it's not painful? Jokes aside, is this the calm before the storm? Or is there no storm?

No plot? There was the bullying and they showed us the hard life of Yu Xi Gu. I teared up two times, I did not again since them. This was some quality content for a simple BL. What you know see is just relationship stuff. Ep 4 felt a bit disconnected, thats true, but ep 2 and especially ep 3 were great.
