I really like OST in this show, my Spotify feel pressed.
Me just going through each song to 'like' it and the whole play list. I had to come on here to see how everyone's Chinese name was spelled so I could see who in the cast was actually singer vs who had a different voice. It was fun.
One thing I wish is that GS would cook all by herself for once or at least help MQC cook. He tells her all those…
I'm going to break a few things down to help maybe better understand the characters if that's okay. But I do understand your perspective, I just want to give you mine and see if it makes you see things any differently.
It's said a few times by her friends and family that the girl can barely boil water without messing it up somehow. 'We love her, but please don't make her cook for us' kind of mentality. The way he expresses his love aka his love language is acts of service. He isn't very talkative and he doesn't express himself well sometimes so he does it through food, and giving to those he cares for. She loves quality time and I want to say a bit of gift giving. Even if that means watching him cook/being a helper and shoving snacks at him(though I'm pretty sure that plot point is there solely for advertising purposes, those who've read the novel let me know).
Everyone expresses their love differently, and even though it may seem unbalanced from an outside observer, you can never truly know how much the other is receiving in the relationship. She gives him sense of peace and home just by being present imo.
Small spoiler ahead for those who haven't finished the show.
He's been infatuated with her since he heard her voice two years prior to him stumbling into her Circle. He didn't know how to talk to her. He heard her talking about food, so he gave her a recommendation just to be able to speak with her and express his interest.
He's clumsy and awkward as he practically raised himself, and then just focused on school and work. She's young and inexperienced when it comes to relationships and too shy to overly show her interest. She's a gifted composer and he was always her fan before they ever spoke or saw each other.
One of the repeated images is Sheng Sheng running into Mo Qing Cheng's arms. Over the course of their relationship you can see how much more comfortable she is with showing affection physically.
I hope the wall of text didn't deter you from reading it, as I like discussing content I've seen and getting and giving different perspectives and takes on it. As we all have different lived experiences that we bring into watching shows we will all have slightly different views/takes on them.
and the award for worst friend award goes to...An Do Ra. Seriously you going out for alcohol on a snowy day with your friend who is a witness to a murder where the victims die on snowy days & every witness has been murdered...ma'am. If SSTL was a person.
This and Hidden Love have made my 'God Tier' rank level for shows this year. Loved the slow burn of this show. It honestly felt like a hug every time I watched it. If anyone knows of shows like these that are in the pipeline for 2024, please give me a shout. I'll be there with bells on.
What is up with Mu Mu? I think he smiled maybe three times the entire series, and he walks and talks like a robot…
I think it's honestly the first time an actor has accurately depicted those character traits properly. Because even when he's being sassy it's with love. He did a really subtle job of it and it was perfect for the character.
Atleast this drama doesn't romanticize crappy behaviors like in I may love you, Got a crush on you, only for love. This…
This show was like therapy tbh. This is the perfect show if you've been watching heaver or tragic dramas. It's so light and loving...from every character. The only conflict, if you can call it that, in the whole show is that she, as a fan, is sad that he wants to take a step back from lead parts in his voice acting work. And that's not even a conflict so much as a human processing their emotions. I loved how every character was a shipper of the couples in the show as well. Like green flag friendships, lovers, and family. 10/10 would always recommend.
I don't understand Mandarin as well as I do Korean so I'm going to have to be patient and wait for viki or other subbers to step in. Thank you for the website though, I don't think I've used it before, or if I have, it's been some time.
This has to be the first drama I didn't binge right away. It's pretty heavy sometimes and you just gotta pause…
I think what you said perfectly incapsulates the reasons why I've been holding off on watching this. I just can't do a show like this during the winter. I work nights so i rarely see the sun or get to go out and touch some grass in winter, so this would just be too heavy for me at the moment. I want to watch it because the cast is amazing and the cinematography/production as a whole looks amazing. But knowing myself, I just don't think it's right for me right NOW.
Really enjoying this drama, but the second lead syndrome is real. Poor Jang Dong Yoon. This is bringing flashbacks…
The man is booked and busy. I think this must be a record for most main roles in a year. It's not uncommon for the supporting actors to be in like sometime 5 or more projects in a year. For someone to play a main lead in 3 shows and 2 feature length films, and a secondary lead in a fourth show is actually wild to me. Can't forget the short film. I hope he is taking care of his health and that some of these were actually filmed last year or something. Cause that is sooo much time on sets.
This is not the best drama i've ever seen or something, it's simple and sometimes predictable, but i've caught…
100% agree. I find myself giggling and kicking my feet like I'm a kid. The pure joyfulness that comes from watching this, no matter how simple the plot, is so worth it. The perfect escape.
i have never been more greatful that my sleep schedule is the opposite of most in my time zone. it will be 4am when they drop. dont know if viki will actually get all of them or not, but I'll at least get to see one before going to sleep 😄
ep 7 was the best yet. backstory for how Jin Star met GuWon was so well done. I love it when they actually take the time to round out the supporting characters. I was losing my shit laughing during the "Hyung-nim' scene, and then swinging to those final scenes ㅜ-ㅜ....solid episode.
This drama is a love letter to voice actors, foodies, and the people behind the scenes on all the projects that entertain us. This show has a god tier soundtrack and the cinematography is some of t he best I've seen all year. Absolutely amazing...and the food shots....like, you didn't need to go that hard, but you did. If you are even remotely debating whether or not to watch this show, I swear it's like a pringles tin...once you watch you just can't stop.
😭 What the hell is this?... 😳https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM66ptCPn/
i just want to write my prediction somewhere. Sheng Sheng & one of her friends or his friends get in an accident & that is why she"s bruised & crying. He can't work on his friend as a doctor & that's why he is crying. I swear if we have a needless break up in the 32 episode I might lose it. 😔
