Thanks fun_fun and kristel for sharing your opinion, really appreciated. I'll guess I'll be giving it a try after it's finished airing ;-)

Thank you sooo much happymess for your feedback. I totally agree with you in that I should give it a try and see for myself. I was just afraid that it might have too many similarities with CH which I unfortunately could not bring myself to swallow neither characters nor story nor anything. I'm feeling so much like watching it after reading your words!!

I was thinking of giving this drama a go especially with all the buzz it's making, but now when I saw the recommendations partition that suggests a common "feel" between it and city hunter I'm starting to reconsider. No offence, but I couldn't finish and won't ever watch CH. Please give me your opinion, preferably non-CH-fans :)

this drama bears the meaning of a good plot and actors put to waste.
I have yet to watch the last two eps that aired, but this is taking such an ominous direction with the writing.... it seems to be going in circles!!! plus, the disastrous thing is that I'm somehow starting to lose interest in the mystery! it's supposedly one of the plus points to the drama, but everything is starting to feel half-baked that I don't care anymore, and just want to get finished with this thing.
At first I was so attracted to the characters, (all except the haughty fiancee and the spooky stalker gal) I especially admired how the female lead was written, an found both the male leads cute and lovable, but now everyone is starting to get on my nerves, she's supposed to be an independent strong woman, but she seems indecisive and a pain in the ass, the main male lead is fun and all but feels like a bad loser! the second lead might be the character most redeemable, but he as well had his inconsistent points.
I can't help feeling this is all due to bad writing, the original writer might have a better idea of how she intended to make things go with her characters (their interactions and developments) but the substituting writer doesn't seem to have an idea how he should be dealing with was handed over to him!!!
Skye-N-Rain Oct 9, 2014
seems like we'll be adding psychological disorders to the list of drama trends which includes: cross-dressing, seeing ghosts & time travel.
the plot seems interesting, well it did until it mentioned the point the female lead will be loving both characters! Now that ominously suggests this drama might be taking a very light and unrealistic approach to MPD. well, we'll have to wait and see.
And of course, welcome back Hyun Bin :)

The sequel was highly expected coz originally it's based on a novel that still has plenty of remaining story.…
Well, I read several Japanese articles about this buzz and all of them explained how his agency was not happy with Roosevelt game.
They stated that the drama ended with a disappointment to the channel since they were aiming it to result in a phenomenon of Hanzawa Naoki-proportions, and it was anything but that.
I would like also to point out, we viewers tend to check the ratings I admit, but we still have to keep in mind they don't necessarily prove anything. How many times have you kept watching a drama although you didn't enjoy it just so you can know what happens in the end, or watched coz you were a fan of one of the leads.
I agree with cheer completely that an actor has the right to choose the roles that best express the current phase of his acting career and the ones that help him develop, also to avoid being put into a certain category & make it hard to escape from later, but I would have still hoped Sakai wouldn't have turned this one down. The original novel has plenty of ground for a sequel and the fans are dying for one, so if the channel will anyway make one he should have at least from respect to the fans abide by it and kept with the franchise till the end.

All that being said, I want to cheer for him having took on a taiga, that proves his popularity and that his acting skills are approved of.

I don't particularly hate IDW's acting, but let's be honest, he can tend to be stiff sometimes facial-expressions-wise. So with Shin Se Kyung, I fear this will end up a competition of stiff faces, stiff but handsome :D
But putting all that aside, normally the possibility that I give a drama with that plot a try is less than 10%, but thanks to all the buzz it's causing owing to it's ridiculous plot, I think I'm starting to get curious to watch at least the first episode.

I agree with everyone. I love both actors and believe in their acting skills completely, also I am positive that if Abe was Hanzawa he would have done a marvelous job and the drama would have still been a success. But it's so unfair to change the main character's actor after the fans attached it to a different actor. The credibility of the show will decrease to the half.
I admit I didn't particularly enjoy Sakai's over-reacting over-the-top expressions in some of the scenes (especially in the last few episodes) but still, this has become Hanazawa Naoki to us, and either Abe Hiroshi coppy-cats the same acting technique (which will by all means be a hackneyed thing) or express his new original Hanzawa and risk loosing fans.
If they want to produce the same plot of the 2013 drama as a movie but with a different actor, that's another story completely, and then we will have the choice to either watch it or leave it, BUT to tell us that if we don't watch this sequel we won't get to find out what happened to hanzawa, this is unfair play!!

The sequel was highly expected coz originally it's based on a novel that still has plenty of remaining story. But rather than a sequel series, everyone was expecting that it will mostly be turned into a movie or maybe a special drama.
As for the reason Sakai-san turned down the offer, it is as you say due to his commitment to next year's Taiga, but also there has been news that his agency previously expressed their rage towards TBS because of their production of "Roosevelt Game", a drama based on a novel for the same writer as Hanzawa Naoki which bears great similarities in the atmosphere and background, and aired it right after Hanzawa's popularity boom. Sakai himself expressed his anger towards their production, it was obvious they were dying to produce a sequel quickly to secure more viewers and he kept postponing the sequel, so they decided to take the risk and introduce to the audience something closely similar story-wise and visual-wise and cross-fingers it brings high viewer ratings, .....but it was a "loosing game".
Anyhow, if you consider the theory of a bad relation between Sakai and TBS, that might prove an explanation as to why he even turned down a special, of course in case TBS was willing to continue the money-making franchise with a mere 2 hour special.

Hey Maida11 Why SO SERIOUS? I know the article's categorized as news and all, but don't forget that this site…
Not mentioning much details, I agree with you makes the article lacking news-wise :D
I have only watched SSK in a tree with deep roots (which for some reason I stopped watching with one last ep to go!!!) and she certainly felt sooooo amateur,,,,,rather sucked. So yes, other than the surprisingly absurd plot, SSK seems like a worry to everyone. Let's hope she just does the part expected of here; an Esthetic element. :D

Hey Maida11 Why SO SERIOUS?
I know the article's categorized as news and all, but don't forget that this site is originally for sharing reviews and opinions and suggestions. Besides we all know that we shouldn't judge a book by its cover but it's all speculations and personal expectations! The article writer has all the right to share his own opinion, and we have the right to either take or leave it. Personally this one made me smile, and come on seriously even as a fan of LDW you must have noticed that most of the articles discussing this drama was ridiculing the plot....obviously no one's holding much high hopes for this one, but that exact point might be a card that they use to surprise us with somethint unexpectedly fun and well-made. Let's pray this one doesn't ruin it for all of them.

Just wondering: what's with the wardrobe stylist in this drama and orange suits!! Both the two male leads wear them consecutively!! Or do gentlemen in Korea really dare to wear such monstrosity Oo

I just checked the comments on the drama's page and like you say everyone seems to be super-enjoying it which if you ask me does not prove anything, on the contrary it makes one start to wonder what exactly they're so loving it for(!!!)
I can somehow guess what you're not liking about it but can you give me a general idea without spoiling?
though I have it on my PTW list but I was feeling uncertain about this one (even the trailer felt a bit stupid)

Hi There, long time no see. How are you doing lately?
I noticed on the feeds you've commented on Man from the stars "One word....silly!!"
I was thinking of watching someday when it's finished airing, you don't like it? I've just been disappointed by a sci-fi drama lately and I don't want to make the same mistake twice, so if there are any warning (LOL) please share.
and if there any particular recommendations too, I would love to hear ;-)
