I was quite touched by this drama and was able to empathize with the characters. Not all drama has to be a full…
Look, I'll be totally honest with you. The problem in my case might be related to having been watching too many Korean slice-of-life dramas lately, I became accustomed to having more time to appreciate the characters and their interactions, being shown more of their story. Not saying that all Kdramas excel in that part, but overall a lot of times they manage to show us even snippets of the character's backstory and those simple moments that define them, so we see more actions than just spoken script to show us who a character is and how they change or mature on screen.

In case of other genres, maybe it would not bother me as much, but since this one had a psychological plot point, and the character's story was genuinely interesting, I just thought I would have appreciated more opportunity to see more background story and development on screen.

I agree that Hyo Joo did a great job acting, and exceptional Japanese skills (I major Japanese so I can vouch for that) and Oguri Shun delivered a solid performance. I only realized after finishing the drama that that was Akanishi Jin, though he did the best with the material he was given but his character almost lacked a story at all tbh, and even his relationship with the psychiatrist had something missing.

It was not a bad drama, and I enjoyed the watch, but something felt lacking that's all.

I agree that was the vibe I got with the conversations that could be heard around the teacher's office. it showed us the future where hopefully they have already graduated.

THIS NEEDS A SEASON 2!! THEY DIDN’T EVEN REVEAL THE IDENTITY OF THE MAN WHO TRAINED GA-MIN! I’m re-watching…
I thought that keeping his identity hidden meant that is must be a character that has already been introduced, so I was guessing it might be the principal or sth since he wasn't as corrupt as the vice principal and all,, but since the finale ended on a note suggesting a sequel then there is a chance it might be someone that has yet to be introduced in the second season....hopefully.

I have a question.
Since when exactly did BAEK kyung gain awareness. He can remember a lot of times he was thrown the comments of "shadow & stage" and "character settings" or "you won't remember it later" so he must have been aware for sometime.
Another question, when a character gains awareness are they then able to recall past shadows as well as future ones? Meaning, BK being able to recall memories of childhood about Dan oh when most probably they were shadows, is that because he gained awareness later.

episode 5 (9) rn Question: does kyung’s scenes with his family not appear in the comic? cuz if it does, shouldn’t…
I am currently on the same episode literally paused after this scene and I have the same question
did you happen to know the answer?
also did you sense that kyung was able to recall haru after he saw him at the gym (when he saved him from the ball hitting him) despite that happening during shadow scenes.
On Extraordinary You Jun 23, 2024
i am watching for the first time currently on ep 5, I have a question.
the scene when haru hits BaekKyung in the rain and reveals he has awareness, when BK asks him who he is haru says you won't remember anyway once the scene changes. I am lost as to whether that part was a shadow or stage? I mean when BK meets Do Hwa moments later in shadow and he comments about how only Kyung is drenched since the writer just wanted it to rain, that would suggest that the previous scene was indeed stage, then why did haru say BK won'tbe able to remember anything?!
I honestly wish the director and cinematographer had done a better job editing with the color palette to help us better distinguish the shadow from the stage scenes. there are many dramas that used different exposure settings to help the viewer keep track between different time-lines or dimensions etc. for example I remember signal did that so well. I hate that only 3 episodes in and I was already asking aloud, is this stage or shadow just cause the change in the editing was so minimal?!

Edit after watching ep 7: Did Baek Kyung know about the manghwa world all along?! Or did he just come accross the book after Haru disappeared?

Bwahaha. He’s mainly the reason why I still haven’t watched TB!!! He made me cringe a lot during MyIDisGangnam…
@lettucelovesf9 I don't want to be harsh on him, but I hope that with so much opportunities to lead dramas he would gain experience, maybe he's starting to like some others mentioned here. I hope so, because what annoys me with Kdramas is sometimes you would come accross a great drama with great plot and characters etc, and then you jump in and get turned off by a lousy performance by one of the leads, and you feel what a waste of potential.

Honestly, BWS gave his best performance ever, and fortunately, it was on par with everyone else. Heck, his acting…
@shiawasenohikari It is my first drama for him, and man did he blow my mind away with his raw performance, and when it was required for comic purposes an over-the-top exaggerated performance too. he really put his all in the character and I guess he was lucky with his partner both in terms of acting skills and the great rapport they built.

Writer Lee Shi Eun is the type of writer who learns a lot from her previous works. She’s become my favourite…
@elif Kim you have a point, she seems to have matured and perfected her craft over the years, and I guess also the director and other production staff make a big difference on how the drama comes out.
my problem with Cha Eunwoo, is I always feel like he is more focused on looking good and handsome on screen than immersing himself in the character and giving his best performance..My ID is Gagnam I dropped midway honestly, I recall I couldn't bring myself to like or feel for any of the characters. haven't watched wonderful world.

If you watch his interview with salon drip he does mention that he got let go from a role AFTER he had participated in the script reading which normally is a sign his place in the project is secured.

Why the lead female gets no credit from you
@Rachel If you're speaking about hyeyoon, I loved her acting to pieces and oddly fell in love with her character in real life just watching BTS and interviews etc, even more than I loved her character on screen. commending their chemistry is mentioning her btw, so when I say they managed to sell us on their love on screen and even sometimes off screen that says something about her acting skills. I don't understand why I need to be giving excuses like I committed a crime honestly, I was sharing a fun thought that crossed my mind with other fans of the show, me stating I am particularly looking forward to the ML's next project doesn't necessitate such a weird reaction.
On Lovely Runner Jun 22, 2024
hey everyone. having become addicted to lovely runner watching it a couple of times already at this point , and having found out that the original webtoon's creator is the same behind True Beauty which I have watched back when it was airing, I foolishly decided to give it another watch thinking to myself what could go wrong I have given it a decent rating the first time. oh how I regret that choice. I honestly believe watching any romcom right after lovely runner is definitely a bad move, however good of a drama it may be, if the main leads aren't on such great terms in real life and pull off such perfect chemistry on screen like our "lovely runner lovely duo" did, then it's just a lost cause. But True Beauty lacked in multiple aspects where lovely runner excelled among which is acting and character development
man oh man, to watch cha eunwoo's signature bad acting right after having been mesmerized by Byeon Woo Seok's brilliant performance, that was a recipe for cringiness and major eye-rolling. I am looking forward for BWS next role big time and can't wait to see him on screen, cause I am unable to watch him in any of his previous roles (he's either a side character or the show has such horrible reviews like Namsoon)
I didn't mind the sudden shift in tone, and although being a bit lacking and somewhat repititve I found the main plot was not very bad either, what I didn't appreciate though was the multiple inconsistencies with the writing.for starters, some characters are shown to have the abilitiy to literally squeeze the life out of someone from far away using Psychokynetic powers or whatever but then during a next scene they seem to be oddly weak back to just pushing and flying things around trying to make something hit their target. so mun here had a major shift in capabilites and becomes super powerful, he can squeeze metal and fly people around with his mind, byt strangely enough infront of a gun, he can only think to throw himself to take the bullet, I was screaming at the screen " come on! it only makes sense if he can stop the bullet or change its trajectory." but above all what I hated the most was how the writers chose to ignore the rules they had put in the 1st season for how evil spirits advance in levels and gain strength, and made a person who has just been possessed by an evil spirit and not even killed or consumed a single soul, have madly strong powers that surpasses even the highest level of evil spirits (the main villain in season 1 for example) ....that is something that I totally can't seem to swallow.

Can you remind me the episode number where he explained what the case was about. I remember he said the investigation had something to do with money laundering or illegal foreign money or something like that. Why he thought that LDS was involved was a point I never understood.

Can someone explain to me exactly in what way is Han Joo won responsible for the chinese immigrant (Lee Geum Hwa)'s death, as he insists.
As far as I understood she was a witness in some gang case and he chose to hand her a burner phone to call him if a suspect contacted her. Then she happened to get killed mind you at the hands of someone totally unrelated. How does that make him guilty for abetting her murder and carrying out a bad sting operation?!

Review Legal High
Never knew there was a Korean version of the Japanese drama Legal High! I watched the jap version ages ago I can hardly recall anything, other than maybe that the ML lawyer was very smart, quirky bordering crazy, and always spoke extremely fast (I remember I couldn't watch without Japanese subs) but I also rememver I enjoyed it and watched the sequel as well.

Yessss! My God the second half of the last episode I totally didn't enjoy. Especially the supposedly long awaited reunion somehow I didn't buy. Even the kiss, the line he threw afterwards about "do you believe me now" i felt like it was trying to convince us too that his character was in love with her, when neither the story nor the characterization really sold their romance properly. but we might be of the fewer group thay didn't feel chemistry between the leads I notice most people enjoyed them together. But that's drama watching for you, it greatly depends on each viewer.

She was pretty annoying and I personally found the Actress' performance mediocre. But thankfully i was able to ignore her and somehow enjoyed the show. But if I dropped a show cause I couldn't stand a character, then I guess that proves I wasn't into the drama in the first place. And I agree the main villain and his younger bro were more interesting than her.

You speak my mind!!! There was far too many conveniencies and too much corruption going on with this show that rendered it hard to swallow. It was supposed to be the perfect cover up for the perfect framing job, but instead it was a sloppy cover up that involved too many high ups to be on the know and also too many needless killings (run them all with a dump truck for heaven's sake?!) and the crime itself is already a stupid and ridiculous one. When I am watching and all I can think of are questions such as why and How, then that is a sign of bad writing and existenece of plot holes.
