Nothing against Jin Young, he's not someone I'd be mates with but I'm really glad Seulki chose Jong Woo instead.…
Hahaa, I soo agree about Nadine, like I know this is the era of strong independent women, but c'mon, be more realistic ppl :D Like she seems like a really nice person, intelligent, but was not perfect either. And obviously if she did not need a man, she would not go to a dating show trying to pursue a guy :D I also disliked the hype about Jin Young. I know girls like the "bad boy" type, but I would always pick someone like Jong Woo or Se Jun, and not a guy who likes to just brag about being in the army (and I am sorry but I would never see being a "Youtuber" as having a job really), but then is not really honest to others, like trying to eliminate competition around Seul Ki, but then trying to "get to know other girls more".....
True like her roles are so versatile. She went from playing an high school student in dream high to playing an…
Sure there are biased people, but I do not think that just because you do not like someone's acting, it does not mean your opinion is just different, but that you are automatically biased. For me personally, Suzy is not a bad actress, but in a number of her roles I do not find her acting suitable for the main role, more like a supporting role. I have watched Vagabond and the thing I dislike was her unrealistic portrayal of a female agent. Just compare e.g. her facial expressions with e.g. Bae Doona in Stranger, maybe you would see what I mean. Gu Family Book was more suitable for her I think. Saying the above, it does not mean I am biased and I dislike all idol actors. Also, my "bias" would come from seeing the person acting in several dramas and making an opinion based on it, not before doing that. I would like to watch this drama because of Yang Se Jong, not Suzy, but let's see how's her acting in this, I am not going to say stuff like "oh, she will ruin it" or something like that, but I am not going to praise her before seeing it and feeling it is actually praiseworthy. E.g. I really like Park Hyung Sik, (and he is cute), but if I would not like his acting, I would say so. I still believe in MDL you have a right to say you do not like someone's acting and even fans can disagree, but should not be offended and automatically complain about other people saying their opinion.
Her lack of understanding the other side and her feelings that only she as a stay-at-home mother with 1 child…
I am happy that my comments actually inspired someone :) And I absolutely respect your opinion. It seems like again I have perceived the things a bit differently, but never mind, that's natural :) With regards to the attitude when both returned to the past, I do not think ML was the only one with the finally-being-single attitude. I believe FL often repeated how ML destroyed her life and now being in the past, she was like finally I can have fun and choose another man, like the first thing she basically did was to approach her crush (or she supposed she was his crush and he was rich, so let's go to him instead).
She remembered she had a kid only after seeing a small boy on the street which resembled hers, and then she started crying and being sorry. Maybe ML remembered only thanks to her, but I felt like FL had fun during the day, thinking about another guy (but also being jealous about ML pursuing the ballet girl), and only during the night she was thinking about her kid and crying.
And yes, their communication was a huge problem, also blaming the other side for whatever problem they had, but I think both ML and FL were disrespectful towards each other.
He is very handsome in Touch. Where the he k did they find this awful picture?
Not sure if this picture is the same that was here 5 months ago, but looking at this one, I feel like it does not do him justice at all...I have just started to watch Birth of a Beauty and felt like he is soo handsome, and seeing this picture, I have not recognized him :D In the drama, sometimes I feel like he looks a bit like Donghae, but less cute/more manly? I don't know how to describe it, as he can be kind of cute too :D
I have enjoyed the movie and I suppose like some people, did not watch it for the BDSM stuff itself, but rather how such a movie would look like when Seohyun and Jun play these characters (I was not familiar with their acting up to this point). Actually, both of them did well and I am surprised that Jun is only 25 years old, because I felt like he is at least of Seohyun's age, so I did not really felt it was "a noona" relationship. I enjoyed the story and how their feelings changed, but I suppose watching the BDSM thing is not for me really :D I am glad it was not really hardcore here, I mean to each their own, but I could not understand why you would not mind hurting someone you love (even if they like it)...like to spank someone, ok, but to whip someone until they have wounds, well....anyway, the story and acting was fine, it was funny at times too, and I liked the characters (except for Hana of course, or the boss). Although I felt like they pushed a bit too hard the theme of men being super sexist at work in every situation, I know this is a very recent movie, but still it was too much for my taste.
also I cried when they took Woon Kyu to hospital.. he didnt deserve that
Well, it was either that or jail I guess. And he made that choice, so I would say he kind of deserved that, just when Bok Ja was about to make things right...it does not justify her doings, but still..
At first I was not really interested that much in the drama, so I watched the first four episodes maybe in two weeks, but then probably from the 6th episode I was quite hooked. In the beginning I felt like there were many stories taking place and I felt a bit lost, however later I could be interested in seeing more of those side characters, but they were pushed a bit to the background, but that was still fine, as it felt quite natural. Ah Jin was a strong character and I liked how she could stand up for herself and for the happiness of her child despite what the society or ppl around her would expect her to do. I enjoyed her growth as a character and how she could be poised and elegant even when other ppl might be just acting crazy and screaming. I also liked the lawyer guy (Ki Ho), he was a nice man and his treatment of Jae Suk was also funny (and he did well :) ). Jae Suk was a bad husband, but at least his character was quite comical (e.g. the scene with the mediator, I really laughed at that), even the way he walked was quite funny. The artist girl was a despicable woman for me, I am not sure why would anyone want to help her with her career even after everything she did? If it is because she was "led" by an "evil man", but as women let's stick together, that is just stupid, I dislike that a lot. In the beginning, we see the dead Bok Ja and seeing her traits I felt like she deserved that, but towards the end I might have felt a bit sorry for her and would like to see other characters dead instead :D At least she had a bit of decency in her, or conscience. It is true how basically all the kids "liked" their father just for the money, although we do not see how they were growing up and how he treated them as a father earlier in their lives, so maybe he deserved it too, hard to say. Overall, I have enjoyed the drama and did not feel like 20 episodes were way too many, it was an ok length for the story.
This was at first easy to watch, but then even though how the story progressed could be predicted, it still made me angry. I mean, you have quite a great guy interested in a girl, and suddenly his so-called friend sees the girl and says to himself, well, I am the one getting her just because. And she just somehow accepts this fate LOL I could not understand why Jojo did not slap Sun Oh in the first place, why she even followed him somewhere. Moreover, Sun Oh was really a pathetic, selfish character and I would love to see him as some kind of supporting character, not an ML. Moreover, Song Kang had at most two expressions reserved for his role, so I do not understand the hype. KSH is good as always, and I liked Hye Yeong's character and the acting, but I would love him to stand up for himself more. I suppose while being surrounded by rich people, he felt like who would listen to him when compared to these ppl. What also got to my nerves is the fact that whoever kisses you first, you just need to either end up with him anyway, or you cannot forget him after 4 years (even when spending time with a nice guy who loves the old-fashioned way, not being obsessed by an app). And even tho Sun Oh did not get his answers (or he did but did not like it), I mean OMG, grow up, why you would just follow somebody around and pester them to explain the break-up, you were just teenagers, grrr!!! And this whole dilemma about how I should know if I really love someone when my app would not tell me? LOL Oh, and Gul Mi...just a hateful **** who deserves to be kicked out of the house...
This was quite easy to watch, and I really liked Kim Jae Wook's character and his acting too!Park Min Young was…
Regarding the childhood story of ML, it did not make much sense. So his mom got into an accident, and her son was taken by a nice woman for a month, until she dropped him at an orphanage. I get it that she could do it officially, not during the night secretly, but I did not understand at all how could anyone even be angry at her for giving him away, I mean she took care for 1 month for a strange child for God's sake, who would do that? Only ML got some sense and thanked her for taking care for him, and was not really angry. Also, why the hospital was not checking if she had a family, child or whoever? Why in the orphanage nobody notified the police or someone, the child remembered his name, his mother's name, it's not like he got amnesia, so nobody was trying to find out where this child came from? It seemed ridiculous that suddenly he as if disappeared from the earth surface and his mom could not find him, so she later found another man and got another child. And I could never understand the minds of these artists....her child is hungry, she cannot really provide, but she just keeps painting. ML mentioned that he remembered watching his mom's back while painting most of the time. It's fine when you are alone, but when you have a child and you have no money, she should rather find a part-time job and play with him more, and paint as a hobby, than to be a starving artist with a child.
This was quite easy to watch, and I really liked Kim Jae Wook's character and his acting too! Park Min Young was fine in the role, and she is pretty, but sometimes her acting felt a bit unnatural, as if she concentrated more on looking cute or pretty rather on than conveying the emotion. Moreover, in some of the scenes even before they were going out, I felt like I am watching a woman seducing a man, not an employee talking to her boss, so this felt a bit strange. However, I liked that they did not allow her character to be too childish for a long time, or that they did not really split the characters towards the end just for the sake of it. I enjoyed Eun Gi's character, but I did not like how FL treated him, she was mean to him too often, while he would do anything for her.
I really enjoyed watching this drama, as it brought light to different relationship problems, and also had comedy…
Her lack of understanding the other side and her feelings that only she as a stay-at-home mother with 1 child has it tough, while her husband is having it sooo easy was the key to their problems, which escalated more and more. She felt not pretty in her marriage anymore (I am not sure why she could not wear clean clothes while walking on the street, and was expecting that nobody would comment on that), but it seemed she stopped taking care of herself completely, then expected compliments suddenly. She also made sure she would belittle her husband for the job he did or the money he earned. Only later she started to understand his feelings and his life more, and that's when I started to like her character a bit. But I think this could be also seen by the way they were originally in the past. While ML used to be a shy guy that could not talk to the girl he really liked and that later allowed ppl around him to use him and belittle him, she was a spoiled brat, which was overconfident (the way she flatly refused Nam Gil in the past for example), and this could be seen from how her mother and father were surprised when she was suddenly nice.
I really enjoyed watching this drama, as it brought light to different relationship problems, and also had comedy elements which made it fun to watch (especially Ban Do with his friends). Maybe this is a very unpopular opinion, but completing this drama only supported my initial feelings. While the ML was not perfect with the way he handled some issues or how he communicated with his wife, I believe the bigger fault was on the FL's side.
A very unpopular opinion, as I gather from the reviews and comments. But I hated ML and FL together. I get misunderstandings…
I do not think it was just him undermining her self-esteem, I would say she was doing the same. What about when she repeatedly claimed that he ruined her life and that she should have never met him? That does not sound like a love letter to me. Plus similarly to her mother-in-law, she called his salary "pathetic" and over and over again called him cheapskate. However, when they were both working (probably) before having a kid, it seemed like her salary was equally "pathetic" as they had troubles to get through the month. How can you whine about not having enough money, but at the same time call your husband a cheapskate is a strange thing to me.
dude they did not forget. she cries in almost every episode about their child and he does too.
I also got the feeling from the first episodes that they partied during the day and were sad in the evening or during the night only. The FL also cried in the beginning only after seeing a child on the street, it was like only because of that she was reminded of being a mother, otherwise she was thinking about a rich guy she would date instead....
I was watching episode 05 and at around the 33:47 time mark, the song used in the Netflix version is completely…
haha, you mean the scene where she is supposed to dance to a hip hop song, but suddenly it is something like a Kpop song? Yes, I have found it really strange while watching it on Netflix.
Maybe you help your wife a lot, but this husband even didnt pick up his phone when his son got sick, he was busy…
Yes, finally someone who does not just say "he is a jerk". I have about 3 episodes to finish this and I can see they were both at fault and the ML was not always nice to her. Yes, he did not have to be so harsh when judging her looks etc., but it's true that once you have a child, you do not have to have this "homeless image" like she had (always messy clothes and hair, even outside, then she is wondering why people are looking at her). I agree that the drama portrayed FL as having it tough and "being the victim" while the husband is a jerk. I believe she was a jerk a lot more times, thinking "you just have to work while I have to take care of everything". It seems like she never cared what her husband had to go through, and he had to go through a lot. Unfortunately, it seems taking care of boss' mistresses is a part of some jobs in Korea (or basically if you want to keep your job). And it's funny how she never confronted him about the infidelity before the divorce, she sees the card statement and receives a picture, and never really got him a chance to explain. It would be different if she always believed he cheated and suddenly she has a proof, but I do not think it was her case. I think her lack of understanding is visible when she found out about his future boss in the past, but still reacted like "are you stupid? why you let him do that?". I have expected her to apologize for not seeing how tough it was for him, instead of reprimanding him again for something. When meeting in the past, they both argued and were not nice, but later he changed his tone and became nicer to her, while she was still harsh, this bothered me in their relationship. I really like this drama, but I do not like when it tries to imply that problems in relationships etc. were a man's fault, while the wife had it tough. The same in Familiar Wife, I have kinda understood why the husband did not want to go home after work often, because his wife was so nasty to him. And I am a woman myself...just in case someone thinks "women need to stick together"...no, I stand where I think is the right side in my opinion at that situation.
I would not hate on this drama, but for me this was just super strange, and I lost my interest after 10 mins, when we just see the ML's pulse being repeatedly monitored etc., while he was behaving like a **** and everybody was just tiptoeing around him....also I have noticed it would be dealing with circus (magic stuff and circus etc. are not my cup of tea), so I have just dropped it and saved myself from 20 hours of episodes. Might be a good drama for others, but I just could not care less during the first episode, so obviously it's not for me..
A lot of them are really beautiful...but I have not noticed when e.g. Sana or Rose from Blackpink have become actresses...when we count their own reality shows etc., then every Kpop girl group member could be listed here...
I also disliked the hype about Jin Young.
