It's odd that while watching this, I kept thinking of the older version. I think Ester is a pretty good actress, but Bee was just so expressive in her role as Arisara, and Chakrit hit it out with his expressive eyes, I'm sorry to say that Jes is no where near to that level of acting. In the old version. Bee and Chakrit literally talked with just their eyes when seeing each other, I really missed that in this version. However, I liked that they cleaned up some over the top violent scenes and the lack of rape in this one is appreciated. But, i'm not sure if anyone else noticed, the editing for this show cut sooooo much out, It's like they filmed for 14-16 episodes but were told to reduce it. to 12. I kept feeling like a lot of lines and moments were cut which could've added to the overall story. It's really not a norm for me to say that a show needed more episodes as I'm usually complaining that directors drag things out when they should be reduced but I really felt it in this show.
If anyone ever reuploads this, even without subs, I would love to give this one a go. I won't understand much, but watching Willy in his prime would be a treat!
I find Thai producers/directors tend to overshadow the more 'thai' looking FL/ML's. Very few who don't look either Chinese or Farang make it very far in terms of main roles, even should they be much more versed in acting compared to someone who just looks like they are Farang/Chinese. This is just my two cents, but I think this girl deserves more main roles after seeing some of her works.
It's unfortunate that the show was cut from 14 down to 11 episodes. So much was left unsolved or unexplored in the last episode. I think even one more episode might have been perfect to resolves the story to a more comprehensive end. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this show was. I went in with little expectations but I'm glad I gave it a go. It's a light-hearted show, which doesn't take itself seriously. The characters are actually very endearing, especially Dao, who was totally believable as a spoilt, but cute actress and Chang as the detective playing undercover to be her nanny/manager.
I skipped a lot of episodes. Can someone tell me what happened to his ex-girlfriend? I saw the scene where she…
The ex was a spy sent by the evil dude to dig dirt on the detectives. She fell in love with Chang and wanted to kill herself because she felt guilty, however, Chang persuaded her against it. Unfortunately, Pupae still shot her secretly so she was killed regardless.
Ann can really act! She is by far the best emotionally available actress I've seen in Thai lakorns, especially her depressed/sad scenes, she steals the show. Aum is also really good with the deranged characters. He has a very edgy look to him that lends itself easily to these roles and he nails them to perfection.
Wuhuan is only likable in the beginning, then she's just irredeemable. The only person I consider stupid is muguang…
I have to disagree with the point that only Muguang is stupid. Every singe God. even after knowing she's evil continues to let her behave however she wants, using the excuse of wanting to gather proof. LOL what?! You're Gods, what proof do you need other than the ones you already have. The fact that they let her continue to grow stronger while we don't see them actually increasing their power whatsoever is laughably funny. Also, there is no defence for stupidity. I can understand misunderstanding as a plot engine, but I cannot stomach stupid. For someone to be stupid for 60k+ years is a special kind of dense. Then, even after the reveal that she's evil, they don't put a trace on her or send spies, or keep watch on her activities? For gods sake, they're literal Gods (pun intended). She's able to outsmart them all and become more powerful because she's dealing with little kids instead of fully grown adults that have lived millennia. If the show only had one stupid character or a few flaws, I would overlook it, but this is a big budget project with some well-known cast and crew. The premise of the story is interesting but how they progressed the plot was so ridiculous. I can enjoy the CGI, the awesome affects and the fluffy bits in between with Tinaqi (only redeeming person in the whole show other than Gu Jun) but, I can't help but think of every other scene in the show where I was frustrated with how useless everyone was acting. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but when a show has bad plot logic and uses stupidity as a main plot device for everything, then, I can't respect the writers/directors of the show. It is an insult to the audience and the money spent on the production of the show.
Went in with mediocre expectations and came out completely frustrated. The storyline was soooo ridiculous and lacked even the basic tenants of logic. I was honestly rooting for Wu Huan by the middle of the show. The show alone has enough stupid people to populate a small town.
I am sorry if you feel offended by this comment, but I will be completely honest. This whole drama felt like whoever…
You took the words out of my mouth. I honestly adore this concept. However, the episodes were so jarring. The opening and closing alone were 10 minutes .Then having the time split between the three leads, all the while doing the whole flashbacks/Babylon/present time juggle got too much within the span of 30 minutes. The drama needs extreme editing to cut off the repetitive flashbacks and reduce the 24 episodes to 16ish.
Show was hilarious and unexpectedly enjoyable, right up until they messed up the ending and ruined the whole flow of the show by throwing in so many logic fails that I couldn't block my brain from reasserting itself to remind me that this is nuts.
Just tried to rewatch this show, god I made a mistake. Honestly every character is lacking sense. The first episode the FL thinks the ML is trying to rape her while there are bullets flying around them and he's rolling with her on the ground so they don't get hit. Let that sink in. She's yelling rape when there's a shootout going on around them and at them. Like what?! You can have over the top acting, dialogues and characters, but the least a writer/director can do is give them some semblance of reality. Suffice it to say,
I got to ep 8 before I quit. It was a rough watch with a lot of skipping because I couldn't bring myself to like any character. Save your sanity and your time and avoid this show.
How is this a 7.5 rating? This is utter garbage from start to finish. The writer and director should be fired and not given another opportunity to create crap like this.
Filled with lakorn style stupidity and plot holes, but overall acting was good, minus Film, aka Akee. He had one face the whole show. Angry? Bland face. Shocked? Bland face, happy? Bland face. It's hard to imagine that he's a veteran actor and not a rookie at their first lakorn. He looked like he didn't wanno be on set, didn't want to be acting, he just read the lines like he didn't care. I've seen him do better in other shows, not sure what happened in this one. Overall the story isn't new by any sense of the word. Tried and true lakorn machinations with kidnapping face slapping, over the top stupid main leads and what have you, but it's still watchable.
I watched 11 of the episodes somewhere, cannot for the life of me remember where they were subbed, but the project was dropped/permanently on hold for years which is why I lost track of it. I doubt the group ever finished subbing this, but from the few episodes I did watch, this was a good remake. The acting was good and the chemistry was definitely there.
From what I can remember, I think it was on youtube, not fully subbed, it was missing a couple of episodes near the end. I finished watching the last few episodes in raw. The youtube videos are no longer available I believe as a lot of lakorns were tagged with copyright a few years back and everything was removed from youtube, viki etc.
