Well, the He family is a personal villain to FL, who just want to gain power through using of FL’s General status. The main political villian against ML or the military general is Xu JingFu, who is jealous of both Xiao and He military power in court. And as a country, they are still constantly under attack by other states. And within the country where ML and FL resides, there are corruption…As this is set at a time where the country has yet been united. So I also wonder how this story can be told in the limited ep., and that probably explain the fast pacing for some and lack of depth in representation of the characters. The novel itself has more richness and set up. So for novel readers the advantage of that back story. And my only complain is this novel is actually quite dark and intense but I guess for commercial reasons, this drama is package in the heavy focus on romance.🤷🏻‍♀️ I watched it with little expectation and literally just switch my brain off and enjoy the romance😍.

They played a lot of these tropes here, “…I don’t tell you…you will know anyway…eventually by your own deduction.” or they can read each other mind without even talking.

These feels like the happening of events thats upcoming. FL being cleared of her name, ML healed and coming out to take over the actual leading of the Yesha investigation and ZhuGe KongYun has actually been helping them secretly? That will be interesting twist.

In the novel, the main theme revolves around gender inequality, female being used and discarded like rubbish, FL finding a new life after transmigration, finding love in new family and working her way up to a general position with her own ability again and showing how she can shines in a man’s world with her capability and determination without a mask. Just feels it lost here.
Even the tropes here are so old school and typical.

She is very pretty here and I like her character here too. With her make up and costume, she looks different, I kept thinking who is she till I checked her page. lol! Gone with the Rain was one of the fun one I enjoyed, although low viewership.😓

What I mean is I wish they continue the story and have more season. So this drama is only one part of the story right?

Personally I find the novel wrote better characters as compare to this screen play 🤷🏻‍♀️. I am disappointed but I am trying to detach from novel and watch this fresh, but realise I have to switch off my logical brain a lot🤦🏻‍♀️.
