If you like the leads, can just google them on MDL above and try their shows;).

I didn’t read the novel. But from the drama explanation. Because of Shen’s family having a treason crime, she has to use Qin WAN’s identity, and using that she has to resume her returns to Qin family first as if she goes capital on her own as a lady travelling alone, it maybe questioned. So far in this drama, it has not give us much of Qin family background yet, the only governed of Qin is by current Grandma and no other elders around.

Think novel readers mentioned it’s a 5-6 mini cases but all link to a bigger plot behind the ultimate villian that has to do with the Royal.
IMO, it’s not really similar as Tang Dynasty but more like a CSI or Imperial Coroner style.

So far the drama shows us that with Yan Chi’s wits, he is suspecting Qin Wan could be Shen Wan, but it’s not showing yet.

I like the love at first sight here, works for this couple. ML has gone through a lot in his life, meeting FL who has a unique and strong character plus her skills set, definitely would make him fell head over heels for her. It’s progressive, not just her look, he noticed her because of her uniqueness and her every move just fascinate him even more, he can’t help it. And I am a total sucker for love at first sight.
Furthermore the other Prince is also mesmerized by FL, but I don’t think he will ever be given any chances, as ML is in guard😅🤣.

Novel readers mentioned below that the novel FL was transmigrated to dead Wan Qin’s body, but obviously here they have to change that.

So sad, the only two good ones died, Qin Liang and his daughter. This family has to pray for better karma for their generation😓.

Grandma Qin? She is not okay IG you watch on, she knew and she hides for family name, she is also like an accomplice. The men seems terrible accept maybe actual Qin WAN’s dead father?😓

The whole Qin family is sick and morally unhealthy.

It’s 38 ep., so 5-6 ep to solve a case seems reasonable. At current ep., they are still into second case.

Have you finished it? I thought some parts they could have act it out and not just by narration from ML. Especially the part after ML was stabbed by Prince Ning, the happening to him. The war was also anti-climatic.

This second part of the story is really not as tight and not as good as the first part.

Thanks for the reply. When I first watched the trailers, thought the angle for this drama will be a lot more darker and scarier. But so far, it’s not as scary as the trailer. I am okay with the tone of this drama and I do agreed that there is on and off editing issues but definitely watchable.

All the people in Qin family seems genetically carries a ‘sick’ gene!

Was the novel written different or better or darker? When I watched this, it feels more like a Rom. Com with attempts of CSI and investigation😅. Guess I didn’t really take this as a serious investigation drama.

Hmmmm…FL’s confrontation is a little too reckless, why does the script always have to write such scenes?
