Thank you for this. Very well articulated. This gives me a different perspectives about this FL’s character design. Initially I felt she was created to poke fun of typical typecast FL design in most XianXia (a dumb, pretty and sweet), her role was to always make the wrong decisions and at times worsening the situation and having ML to solve it or help her. Not exactly a damsel in distress but more of a chaos embedded traits.🤣 It’s fear that always drive her to avoid and now with NH’s support, she is able to find her courage to face it with him;). I still feels like she should learn from her sister, Song YiTing, learn to be less reactive and more calm and compose hence she can make the right decision for herself.

Yeah, if she is written into that extreme characteristic, she will become the villian of the story😅😅😅.

Ep 32, shows the wits differences between SYM and NH. SYM is always trying to avoid and run from the script, which has proven time and time didnt work.🤦🏻‍♀️ NH immediately accepted SYM’s situation of a script and plots, he plots against the plots. Why this script kept making SYM the ‘dumb, cute, pretty’ FL. Making fun of the typical typecast FL in most XianXia drama.

I am not saying the uncle is a good character. I agreed in your observation about his uncle. However I was comparing the two father figures here. One the biological father and the other the maternal uncle. So the latter at least has shown care and concern. And in those dynasty, restoring family name to Royalty is his almost every family mission. And definitely ML deserves better than those two crazy dudes.

I still dislike the Emperor father’s character. Though I feel he is designed as a typical typecast Emperor who is self-centred and narcissistic. He only loves himself. I am sure he knew NH didnt cause his favourite wife’s death, but he just have to find someone to blame for imhis inadequacy to protect his wife. NH has always been a convenient target as he hates the Gao family. I actually felt NH’s Uncle would make a better father figure and he really believes in NH.
