Agreed with your review. This drama was a hype, but tried watching a few ep and had to put it on hold as something feels missing. Yoy have rightfully point it out that the acting falls short. When I first watch it, I thought it was like a Hamlet, however it lacks the poetic touch. Like your comparison to GoT, good one.

And so far they have shown us that this couple has some semi naked scene in the past, so it’s assumed they have done the deed, and yes after reconciliation their interaction should not be awkward.

Thanks for reading my long review. Yup, in Japanese culture, couples’ attraction tend to be subtle. In this story, FL since beginning is definitely attracted to ML, and when they reconnected, hence ML emphasis on how the heart remembers, so she does and is attracted to him again.

Oh? I thought she accepted it reluctantly because it was facing the crowd and she felt force. I had a feeling it’s ML’s self centred-ness that push her away, but we shall see.

Yeah, agreed that after so many years, they both should have dated others before reconnecting again. It’s really hard to believe that both are fixated and not moving on. So if the characters have no growth, how can they reconcile?

So we see that FL rejected ML proposal and she is love by his family, he has got over her and is all excited to meet her again, ML is love brain. But out FL seems to keep pushing him away and all work brain. So they broke up because ML is too needy and FL feels too trapped in this relationship? I didn’t read the novel, just guessing.

So far watched 2eps., distracted by the background sound effect, a little too massive, with every movement.

Just caught up with the ending…Hmmm. How do I comment this. It’s like a feeling of searching for treasures, you found some along the way, anticpating more then when you finally found the treasure box, open it and a note said, ‘THE END.’ However I had a good ride watching these 2 CPs and their families. Agreed with some that this drama can be shorter and the climatic pivotal point can be more defined. This drama should be written like the American sitcom, ‘Friends’, it can go on and on with various side plot development;).

U agreed with all your points highlighted and felt this drama has great potential however they tried too hard to be neither a ROM-Com or family melodrama. And as you, there were moments I like, which you listed. I guess because we watched lots of different genre of drama, some types we may have more thoughts about some plotholes. Cya around.

Totally love ML in both the drama you mentioned especially Snowdrop, Jung Hae In can do subtle emotional changes with facial expression without dialogue😍. I love Jung So Min too, but this drama just gave her bipolar mood.

Agreed. But I think the director was trying to show how our ML and SML are learning to connect to each other and also gave them a strong emotional scene for expression. Wait till you get to the end.

The director must feel “killing people” creates lasting impact on viewers😅.

If you enjoy ‘My Journey to You’, “The Double” and “My Journey to Love”, you will be able to enjoy this. It’s a good story and the actors all played their roles well. There are small plotholes but neglectable; the pacing, fight scenes and emotional scenes are quite well done too.

Maybe you can share why you find her annoying? Which part so I can better elaborate.
IMO, of recent c drama I watched, there have been lots of strong FL being portrayed. However JC is one of the better ones. Ine need to understand that she was brought up by her Master kept in a small village, carefree, free spirit and away from political conflicts. She has been pampered by her teacher, hence she has this naive-ness towards people and world. But even with her innocent, she is smart and introspective. She wasn’t quick to judge but she is very perceptive and willing to empathize with others’ pain (ML). Her wits and kindness help her to navigate out of situation and she does grow to be more aware of the complexity of the situation between ML and SML. Her bravery and courage sometimes appeared reckless, but all FL should have some flaw as she is not perfect, but she learnt fast.
Li Landi handles the role well, having the naive behaviour but yet not over the top cuteness that makes one cringe. Definitely one of my favourite FL.

I am being irrelevant here, but somehow I had the Cats’ musical memories song in my head, likely because JC and WZ have been closely associated to cats.😅😅😅

ep 37 -JC’s surprise meeting WZ at his war camp, hugging him, forgiving him and ask to start over. Their first sincere hug!
ep 37 - JC rescuing WZ by calling in Yueluo’ support, their second hug.
ep 38 - JC honestly told WZ about how she fear he won’t returned and he promised not to abandon her if broken be burnt by flame (preempt viewers of his end).
ep 38 - JC consoled WZ with her porridge.
ep 39 - JC told WZ she wait for his return from the final war. 3rd hug from WZ, sincere and deep.
ep 39 - JC nurse WZ after his winning war, their 4th hug where they recall first sharing of oranges. JC asked WZ to just follow her in future.
ep 39 - the swing, JC’s confession of wanting WZ and their deed with hanging clothes and running water. (RJL stayed true to his no kissing policy 😅).
ep 39 - WZ’s narration on how he had already promised himself to JC when they have their first fake marriage and him doing the act of ceremony prayers as married couple to a sleeping JC. 😓😓😓That white costume with red print really looks pretty on RJL😍.
