I love to finally see Liu Shi Shi in action. And Liu YuNing is good in this role. So far lots of action, the political plot is still a little confusing to me, but guess it’s still building up.
My only complaint is that sometime the background music can be too distracting.

Agreed that modification is definitely needed for some dialogue. I watched those shows that were dubbed from Chinese to English diagloue or Japanese to English, I literally will always be laughing, as the diagloue can sound so weird, funny and out of context😅.

As a novel adaptation, my personal view is this so far for this year drama, gave the most complete and satisfactory adaptation in one season. Although they change some plots and some characters, it all make sense for this drama. ZLH has another grey role in ‘Tiger and Crane’, but I dropped that because the storyline went way off.
Totaly agreed with you on better shots for the kiss scenes. Some scenes, the director took 20 shots, and yet some kiss scenes still feel rather awkward esp. the cave scene, but I guessed it’s meant to be forceful and awkward.😅

I am waiting for Zhou Ye and TJC’s modern drama. But will check out Liu YuNing - A Journey To Love, his new historical drama airing today?

Interesting that IQIYI is really expanding its International market. I watched some Canto dubbed to Chinese, can be so funny. I wonder Chinese to Canto., will want to see how they do the classic BL stabbed XW’s scene.😅

For me, this is indeed a gem discovery, apart from the director’s sudden bright light, and occasional weird camera effects, all the actors done so well here and fit nicely in their roles. I felt sad that they have to kill off You Feng Ying. Overall such an enjoyable watch. So glad the censorship didn’t take off the steamy kisses, I think someone counted that there were 5 of those including the forehead kiss.;)

Hmmm…at the end of the water game, Wang Xing Yue was being playful and purposely pull ZLH into the pool. Then next moment you see protective BL immediately dragged WXY into the pool too🤣.

Yeah, JXN trusted ZYZ too much. In the previous ep., I thought the script writing was smart to get XW console JXN and told her how she was not a bad person hence she cannot foresee this coming. I felt it was to speak the audience’s mind.😅

Wow, that I didn’t see. But I would feel what both said would first definitely make JXN feels more sympathy for XW and feels ZZ is too perfect for her.
