This drama is abt today’s new era women whereby gone are those days whereby storyline for husband went astray came back to wife and still wife forgives him as though her broken heart is not important and mend-able. Like how FL decides for her own not to fall back to her husband and be strong to build her own career and be brave go for new guy, ML (younger guy but he eventually loves her more). Good watch^^

This web drama feels perfect to watch when wanting something light hearted (comedy feel that makes us tickle!) and the romance is cheesy but not overtly done, just nice to make people laugh at how being in love or loving someone can cause a person to act in funniest way possible. Was looking for a feel good drama to watch and am so glad I found this!!

Logical thinking shd be kept at minimal here and it will be good enuf to enjoy the entire drama...The kisses are sweet chemistry and wise choice for this FL look really does make people want to protect her no matter what, ML looks lean but when he shows his body he’s all fine looking Asian built...prefers him in his long flowing hair with some fringes (I just love to see long haired guys!) which I think it somehow compliments his looks even better. Their acting is also good and fun to look at.

Appreciate how the script has enuf content abt how ancient-time-travelled-ML trying to adapt to this new era...I watched some time travelling drama which doesn’t address this modernization topic very well and surprised this web drama did it well.

Does hope this web drama can be slightly longer but guess it’s just nice when we audience feel shd have more...that’s when it’s peak time to stop...lol...stopped with happy mood this drama brings ^^

if it was all a dream, then there wldnt be a scene whereby ML went back to palace and was sadden to know all he left with was a photo with his beau, FL...tht scene wld be very unnecessary right.

I wld like to think time travelling sometimes will cause rewinding of scenes or fast forwarding...bcos FL sent ML back to his time so surely every evidence he was once here in today’s era wld have been erased this time went backwards frm when she was supposedly drunk...but one thing Director probably keep in this web drama is her consciousness of ML having loved her and she having loved him, and this memory is only shared btw both lovers tht truely and deeply harbours love for each other...thus ML when returned (since he has the book) is smiling happily to intro himself to her...if he’s really an unimportant newbie in the co. how wld he get to hold the cake for birthday FL right! Director creating open ended stuffs for us to drool on and keep our minds wander. Lol ^^

Oh thanks so much for summing it up...I just watched and got a bit puzzled at the end bcos FL apparently is drunk in the store room with the book in her prop’s storage tray but her colleague telling her those are all new props in the tray...which I was like whatt??!

Then ML showed up holding the cake and the way he smiles does imply that he sorta knows FL...and isn’t exactly new new staff although he said tht out loud (the music at the background is also their main OST which shd imply pink bubbles are meant for this scene!) ML if he’s a different guy wouldn’t everyone else noticed he has the same face as their newly filmed main cast ML, right...

Watched as am a fan of fantasy + romance genre. Surprisingly this web drama is more than what I expect...there’s background storyline built up to explain the ML & FL character (can’t expect too much development as web drama does have certain budget constraints)...their romance came expectedly but still sweet for my appetite and they share few good kisses (which I didn’t thot will have) and ML show off his body (which I didn’t expect a newbie like him would’ve done it for a web drama with not much popularity...now China market is so competitive!)

To a certain extent, I think ML looks a bit like Deng Lun...does anyone think the same as i too? He has Deng Lun vibes...or maybe it’s been a while missing out on Deng Lun’s works eversince he got into the tax evasion thingy....Aww, it’s good to see a doppelgänger of him...but I do hope ML will be able to get more exposure for acting to prove himself is different.

Good to watch when you wanna have spend some time on a story that you mustn’t put logic into it and get entertained! : )

Long time no watch HK drama (eversince got carried away by Korean wave) but TBH lately no specific HK drama tht attracts me to watch. Just chanced upon this drama in YT and decided to pick it up and see how things goes.

What a good topic that 10 over yrs ago HK had been having this story (due to H1N1 really had hotels being closed up/ lockdown so it’s real background story) and now it’s more meaningful since Covid19 had been worldwide for 2.5yrs and still going on...

Production wise...this drama is 90% done within the hotel itself (which in actual fact mostly are the production factory indoors background setup, with exception of the balcony ofc is outdoor building) while the rest maybe just abt outside for kidnappers hideaway, main characters’ house (just a different design background setup in production factory) and some boat/ yacht scenes. I remember why I didn’t watch it back then bcos thinking the production is so low such as with minimal scenes. Now that everyone has experienced lockdown, can totally understand why the scenes can only be as minimal anyways. Can finally relate to it more than ever.

I fast fwd the front few episodes, and in betweens and only pick up full episodes from last 5 (backwards count). Worth watching if to see their acting skills...these actor and actresses now no longer have new production in TVB they either stopped their HK career and went to China or some already retired to do behind the scene work (i.e. SM directing work, SK after married didn’t have much new works).

Missed the good ol’times of TVB dramaland...

This drama is worth watching...I’m glad many posted below to encourage others to watch...yea, I nearly gave up during the 1st episode as it feels rather long or non climax unlike how KDrama usually wld have keep us glued to it by first half of the first episode!

Someone wrote tht it’s quite like ‘W’ which is one good reason for me to watch...but it actual fact it’s not (W-Two Worlds is still my all time favourite until now! Irreplaceable yet! hahaha) but this has its own charm in a way that once pass first few episodes, the rest is all good to be followed on.

I’ve watched VS before in her other works, she’s good actress and MC this is 2nd time seeing his work...didn’t realize he got such well trained body and excellent Eng (he sang the 3 OSTs!) and both of the on screen chemistry are great! No wonder he won the Korea award for this role!

First time I’m seeing SL acting and he gives me a good fresh impression...and he’s such a hardworking actor (apparently he was having fever when acting the outdoor scene, I saw the Behind-the-scenes YT clips and VS & MC was talking abt it) even MC is so hardworking as apparently MC & SL also got other performance (heard they say in the clips it’s concert or something) right after this drama production thus simultaneously everyday after acting still need to go back hotel room to practice their vocals and performing songs despite midnights! (I really appreciate how much effort everyone went thru to make this drama works...who are we to judge whether the drama is good or bad if without knowing the many effort they have poured into the production project!)

This drama once ended makes me wanting for more—I know there’s no more stuffs to dwell on if continuing the episodes, but still hardly have enuf right—so I went on YT to catch their promotion clips and behind-the-scenes shots...they were sharing so much fun (good communications & mingle ard between the actors & actresses at the production set!) they have during this drama production. Happy working environment is always conducive to a good drama outcome : ) Happy watching

ohh…such an ending…thanks for sharing so I can save time for other more meaningful + happier drama…as isn’t really a fan of heavy revengeful plots with bitter endings…

I think I surprised myself for watching until the end of this drama which I didn’t expect i can make it...mainly bcoz the plotline is a slow burner (I knew JDrama is slow but there’s some parts feeling draggy). But the again, probably the drama is directed in a way that we as audience can feel the uneventful & draggy parts (sorta show they weren’t exactly compatible eventhough lived together )—daily lives of FL & 2nd ML which is exactly how any normal couples after few years of living together wld generally be. (No offense to lovey-dovey couples who stayed together for long and still going strong ya...since not everyone is blessed in this manner)

On emotional level, TBH I couldn’t understand the love between FL & ML but probably that’s how some relationships are meant to be—only the parties involved can understand the true connection they share—and besides it depends on our real life experience if so happen can empathize with them.

Age gap isn’t something new for JDrama, KDrama as it’s taboo in society (but yet in real life there are many couples apart from celebrity couples who have such age gaps...and yes I’m not kidding really!) But it somehow triggers my thoughts to think...is this really ‘grooming’ tht FL did to ML? He cld have refused FL’s advances it if he wants to...it’s not like he’s a baby in an age unable to speak his mind or can’t walkaway nor survive on his own terms (he can even voiced out wanting to work and leave school early just to stay with FL...so means he got a mind of his own and can stand on own two feet!). Besides I think the public disagreement with the age is very much due to the portraying of ML during his younger schooling years. If so, how about the movie Butterfly Sleep? (Note: Be forewarned there’s a little s*xually explicit scenes in tht movie so please don’t watch if you feel stressed seeing such scenes that isn’t expressing human body like biology in school text book level ya!) The FL in there is 50s while her lover boy/ guy is her university student (fyi, FL is a lecturer) so I can imagine the age gap shd be same as this or even more! But it didn’t seem unpleasant to watch (and there’s another good message within tht movie itself)...probably bcoz we sometimes take it as it is and didn’t backwards count the age...lol

Some areas under-developed in this drama such as how ML family are taking this...i mean didn’t notice ML family looking for him when he’s skipping school for so long...isnt this abnormal? Not sure if he’s from reconstructed family or is he from single parental...all those not addressed in the drama. I think drama shd have enuf time (since it’s not a movie length) to slot some of these topics.

I appreciate how this plotline putting in another movie (or can I say short clip) to create somewhat mirroring effect on main leads abt another grown man (Director by profession) having relationship with an underaged girl. It kinda shows the contrasting part whereby at the near ending he calls it love and yet suffers no further discrimination from the society or people ard him and he resumes his directing work. And the so-called movie he directed (at first I honestly think it’s lousy or what is tht...at first I even skipped the endings last few seconds of each dramas but ended up watching it towards the end...) it does mean something.

The part I think I remember it saying abt scenario of people contacted with one kind of virus whereby they become emotionless but yet continue to pretend they have emotions just to let others know they are still human...tht part touches me really...In a way or rather in our society many people are no longer feeling excitement at work, staying passionless in relationship for the sake of survival, going on daily lives without enthusiastically embracing their life ambition...so there’s a message there to urge people to do what they really want in life! Rather than saying FL & ML why didn’t split (they got a happy ending), I think the question shd be asking back to ourselves why are we so unkind wanting a couple in love (okay their love is on a level can’t easily comprehend but still) with each other to split..is it bcoz general society shd shun them off so everyone else shd follow too? Shd a person follow the society norms and be fake to others or be true to themselves & others but risking public condemnation. Good thought provoking messages within the movie itself : )

As far as I’ve heard of....these (eating such ‘dumplings’) were true stories / news reported back in those days...but it didn’t bother me much until I watched this movie. I’m a fan of Miriam Yeong’s songs and (comedy) movies and just thought of watching this for a change (was longing for HK movies of a sudden) without giving much thoughts that this is horror movie (which is never my genre of preference to watch).

TBH, nothing too gory (had watched even more gross-looking movies last time which scared the sh*t out of me last time) but didn’t enjoy watching it since isn’t my cup of tea. Just one thing I can remember (ya I watched this quite some time back but couldn’t bring myself to drop a note here until now) is the part whereby FL keep eating the ‘dumplings’ and the expression she gave when doing it tht is really good acting...and ofc i’ve stopped eating any dumplings nor do I make any dumplings to eat anymore for a long time after watching this movie!!! Tht’s how impressive her acting on the scene affecting me...lol

This drama is good for anyone looking for light-hearted and yet feel good romance storyline. ML & FL background story begins as teacher-student but it doesn’t bother me a bit since this isn’t the adolescent-aged-girl with teacher which is a real taboo in society...besides, university students generally (ain’t talking about genius students who could’ve gotten study exemptions thus shd aged younger) are young adults (above legal age...one scene where she got drunk and slept overnight in cinema clearly shows she can even freely consume alcohol drinks with friends) and what’s wrong with falling in love with her teacher who’s brilliant, kind-hearted, loving (to his lover/ wife), filial (to his grandpa) and on top of it all, also bonus point as he’s a visually pleasing person. In fact, don’t really expect a guy with the same list of ML’s positive traits is still single and available in the after-graduation-enter-society-stage! Probably that’s why scriptwriters enjoy setting somewhat setback for ML as someone cold and reserved to the opposite gender to make it more believable in a way. (somehow does reminds me of ISWAK which I enjoyed watching too...one thing, at least FL here isn’t as over-the-top as ISWAK FL with high-pitched screams & lotsa crying which I had trouble keeping up when binge watching ISWAK until late at night back then...hahaha!)

But of course this script is direct and does not fulfill any expectation on too many hardships or challenges in life for them...whereas, just ample amt of stuffs (a.k.a. FATE) tht pulls them together as one. And surprisingly their chemistry were good.

2nd ML’s acting is a bit over-the-top but probably tht’s how his character (as an actor in this drama) was set to be...cld be to show as total opposite of ML. Watched him in another drama and enjoyed how he’s was also portraying a similar character (with over-the-top-expressions) thus do hope to see more of his future works in different characters maybe someone more calm or matured for a change...lol :p

This movie is beautifully delivered by both FL & ML and to my surprise I really watched until the very end...despite its raw with mandarin subs (actually I’m not with korean nor mandarin language literacy thus only rely solely on translator to understand the storyline). I also thought I might give up watching (imagine 2hrs movie I took almost double the hours to complete watching due to my slow translation word by word...haha)

...but I did ask myself what makes me keep watching is both FL & ML’s awesome acting skills making both characters alive and bring out the chemistry between them! Imagine more than 80% of the scenes are captured in the cafe background and it’s heavily on exchanging words (or scripts) between the lead actor & actress...so it’s basically their well experienced acting that brings this movie alive...and of course not forgetting the production crews’ all-time effort to make the movie into a good piece.

Some of the messages in this movie I do find it very true/ real connection to audience, such as how friends or even blooded relations cld at times harboring somewhat jealousy despite we didn’t even do anything to provoke or do any unjust to them, general society’s bias/ materialistic viewpoints on vying for high society thinking wld make everyone live happier, and so on... Reckon it’s good to watch this alone in a quiet environment—probably at night or during a rainy day where things are slow paced—for can better focus and can appreciate this movie : ) The ending is within my expectation but just wish the director can go a bit more further to make this ending on a happier state...(ok I’m a fan of happy endings, who’s not right? lol) but probably this is the best possible, as some things are better left with imagination for the best to come.

Don’t be surprised...until today still no eng subs but I found one website having Mandarin subs so if you need it I can pm you ya...as I’m not someone who’s educated in Mandarin language thus couldn’t read it but made full use of translator apps which can works wonders : )

I’ve watched it raw and as I’m not Korean language speaker, having quite a challenge to understand the details of this movie. If you don’t mind, can pls share the ending part as to why he keep coming to a building wanting to meet—I do think—is the FL but she refuses to meet him and only pass a letter thru the door guard/ soldier? What did she wrote on the letter ya? Is she okay and successfully given birth yet?

Also backwards a bit, why did they (ML & FL) throw away/ break all the fittings/ fixtures with—I think those are—political stuffs in the house? Is it due to their different political standpoint that triggers into their argument? And why did she sent him (ML) away but he eventually returned? The 2ML (the commander husband) shd be very well aware his wife (FL) pregnant but isn’t his child since he’s always away for work (almost 90% of the movie screening time) but why did he let him (ML) off the hook? I thot he wanted to shot him when seeing ML dropped by their house to visit FL.

I couldn’t find any full synopsis and happy to see you’ve watched this, thus hope can share your thoughts ya:)

Thanks for your review. Happy to know we do share somewhat similar view in the sense tht I too do not prefer or can say usually avoid drama/ movie tht ends tragically sad. But Chen Kun is one of my favourite actor and wanna just ask if by any chance his ending (or death) is for a worthwhile cause to the benefit of someone or for some good purpose he needs to fulfil by dying? Or is it a cliffhanger where he has to die and just end of story? And was his love for his wife something deep with affection less displayed (just as how most ‘serious’ topic period dramas are) or is there probably some heartfelt moments shown to us audience ya? Hope you can share more...as i too wish to begin this drama if can : )
