Title The Day of Becoming You Spoiler
Are there any misunderstandings in this drama?
There’s some slight misunderstanding in this drama but isn’t long, just for a few scenes between the ML’s perception of FL and 2nd FL towards 2ML. Nothing biggie to cause us heart aches, no worries. A good watch if u like rom-com! : )

Title The Day of Becoming You Spoiler
This drama surprises me, it’s comedic with good chemistry between both FL & ML. Liang Jie‘s acting is my fav, been liking her ever since The Eternal Love (1,2 & 3) and can’t wait to watch this drama!

Stephen Zhang’s acting surplus my expectations as it’s my 1st time watching his drama (only watched him before in one China TV show, ‘I am The Actor’ in 2018...but somehow forgotten abt him, watching him here as ML now I realized his acting is wow!)

The way his expression and body language during the body swap as a women somehow convinced me well (and isn’t annoying at all, yet funny and creating good laughs...Note: don’t watch this in the middle of the night as I did, or else you may risk having to control your laughs or choking on a drink! lol)

Am checking out his other performances in previous or current dramas & movies. Any good recommendations or if you guys have watched any of his works—mind sharing with me on the titles ya? Thanking in advance! ^^

now I'm curious about how they actually met and how they start dating?
At first it was a planned encounter in Episode 1 (ML celebrity meet fans session—just that the FL fan is actually an undercover entertainment reporter!) but what comes along later it’s good comedy (I’ve got many good laughs) yet paving a good chemistry for both to eventually fall in love : ) Watch this if you’re into rom com, body swapping genres!

Title First Love Spoiler
This movie is a good watch—dark movie to begin with, and ended on a positive note. Totally like how the FL & 2FL’s acting (few scenes made me welled up with tears)...and not forgetting the ML (I think the brother in law is the ML, right...but it’s written as supporting role here)

Sadly but it’s getting quite common in our society for broken families or reconstituted families to come about these days. Hope this movie can bring some awareness to the society to offer more care and kind concerns, and just lend a helping hand whenever possible to those in need. The part where the convenience store guy nearly taken advantage of 2FL when she’s just a minor was somewhat a mirror to the society today. Of course this is a movie so probably due to time constraints and not to divert the plotline with too many dramas (opening another can of worms for the already heavy main topic of child abuse, PTSD, almost date rape) so this meet-the-stranger-who’s-also-paedophile-tendency wasn’t fully explored on. Instead, director was wise to U-turn it as a character or case witness for the 2FL in court. But if we think deeper, why was there paedophile in the first place...it could be a manifestation of the parents troubled childhood (who were of course once a kid as well!) and this part of the story was untold...of course it cld be too long to explore every character or every cracks of the story since it’s only movie length basis.

All in all, it’s a good story to tell and share about.

I must say it was sad seeing that she got 8 years sentence after all that she went through, I understand that…
I’m glad tht she didn’t get a life sentence...which probably will be dooms day for her and of course will defeat the direction or the whole impact of this movie in the first place. Generally for any movie meant for public screening won’t encourage any form of killing nor self harm as a solution regardlessly to any problem or situation. So probably the director of this movie wants it to have positive influence on the audience.

This movie is a direct sequel to a J-drama from a few years ago, so I definitely recommend watching that first.…
Thanks for sharing. Agree...Jdrama & Jmovie is fun to watch and somehow I do feel it’s not as commercial as Hollywood productions. Certainly, I’ll check out the Jdrama version before jumping to watch this sequel. ^^

yes
mind sharing what’s the korean version movie title? I like both korean and Taiwanese movies but just hope to see the original movie : ) thanking in advance!
I haven’t watched this yet but can anyone who has watched it share if this is worthwhile?

IMHO from the synopsis it seems quite similar to either USA’s Mr & Mrs Smith (2005) or Korean’s Okay Madam! (2020)...both married couple are special agent & special force/ public security but both having false facade to protect themselves. Perhaps anyone who has watched these too and find it similar? : )

It's a simple sweet and heartbreaking movie :'(But it was amazingly beautiful ❤️
May I know if the secret of his late wife holds onto is something sweet or probably due to some life challenges (health, etc) and nothing to do with being murdered or whatever right? Bcos I got tired watching those heavy topics (consistent pandemic lockdown is already making things gloomy as being kept indoors!) to do with murder conspiracy and at the moment, just hope to watch romance, something light and yet meaningful. Mind sharing your thoughts, pls...just no need to reveal the whole ending content yea ^^ thanking in advance

His performance in Beyond The Dream is award worthy. A far cry from his role in Leap Day. It's a shame he hasn't…
Ya totally agree! His acting is good, first time I’m watching his acting in Beyond The Dream.

Oh since you’ve enjoyed this movie too, may I just ask you if you can make sense of the ending? I just watched it and I’m trying to figure out if the ending is a dream of his, or a dream of both of them (something like they are both meeting up in a dreamland—this is frequently being represented in Hollywood movies/ drama whereby both parties if truly on same frequency will tend to meet up in dreams, not so sure if there’s any scientific proven on this theory though).

Reason why I think he’s dreaming bcos he’s lying on his bed (obviously sleeping) while his eyes were closed and with moving lids (looks like REM stage of sleeping) then comes the tunnel scene (it’s whitish yellowish tunnel lights—blurry usually is a representation of dreamland!) And the FL (she now looks like real lover girl—Yip Nam, instead of imaginary gf—Yan Yan) running towards his direction and they happily hugged, etc. Doesn’t it mean he’s just dreaming it out, but this time the character had been fixed to be his real lover girl since he really loves her thus his conscious mind had won over his dreamland subconscious mind and let her be with him forever in his dreams (as from middle of movie FL did explain why he’s having relationship in dreams bcos dreams can seem like eternity, no betrayal, no leaving behind each other).

I hope you can share some of your thoughts too. Since two minds is better than one...lol : )

Please let me have the link, thank you! :)
If you like romance melodrama can try watching these two are also my favourite:

• Majo no Jōken
(abt taboo of teacher-student relationship)

• Long Vacation
(abt relationship happening between temporarily house mates. Those were the days were Takuya Kimura is still a hottie young lad!)

Hope you enjoy it...all 90’s best seller, high ratings back then. Sometimes old Jdrama is still very nice for rewatching ^^

This is quite interesting watch, as I’m into sci-fiction, time traveling, parallel realms, lucid dreaming, psychology genres movie/ drama too.

Darren Wang, as always, has nail it with his awesome expressions (I’m not his fan, I don’t think he’s cute at all but I do enjoy most of his movies as his acting is good!) and the CGI seems cool too. And the veteran actor Chin Shih Chieh (finally know his name frm here!) I seen many of his contribution in most productions and especially like his acting. Eventhough his parts are usually not much (no longer ML) however even this time he acted well as a kind neighbourhood-food-stall-seller old man.

One thing, the aftermath of the movie, I got a bit of a thinking to do, since I didn’t quite capture the true sci-fiction meaning of a few scenes. Am still trying to connect the dots, such as how come the kind old man can retain the bag of money whereas the rest of antiques brought over frm another realm is all wipe off once ML died/ changed realm. And how come the monster was actually lurking ard when in the 2nd reality realm/ other realm the FL actually approached ML first and monster just standing nearby to watch.

I’ve read the French article (many thanks to MDL member who posted in below) and it did helped me a lot to figure out the missing pieces. But yet, I’m still stuck on these two scenes. Since I watch it alone (lockdown at home and none of my family members like sci-fiction, woe me...sobs) so if anyone care to share your point of view with me, would be really happy. Thanking in advance^^

I also finished watching it just now. I really enjoyed it to be honest. If there is any confusion that I could…
I’m also wondering, how come the ending part the ML was with FL while the monster is still lurking ard (hidden himself behind nearby walls as an onlooker). Does it mean FL came a few mins earlier in this actual reality realm, or probably in this parallel realm (bcos if I remember it correctly, the ML in his narrator voice mentioned abt once a realm ends and we may think it’s the end of it but in fact it will allows us to be transfer us to another realm...) so which is why the monster haven’t appear yet (he’s a few mins late and standing behind the walls!)...? Bcoz I remember in the beginning when his dream monster entered reality realm, the convenience store girl saw him being magically lifted up (since she can’t see the monster, so it’s just ML lifted up!) and she quickly called for ambulance. Quick flashback at the ending (something like a movie recap thingy), also showing us audience of the ambulance did arrived at scene with crutches and carrying away a corpse (white cloth covering the body) sorta implying he’s dead! So this is the part I also got confused. I think you seems to have a clearer mind of this movie, hope you can share your views too...thanking in advance^^

I liked how you’ve shared your point of view. Am glad to find someone who shared my understanding of this movie.

And just wondering if the monster is himself, and all is just a dream, I got a bit stuck at the part whereby the kind old man returning the bag of money to him. If it’s a dream all along, then how come the old man can still retain the bag of money? I mean I can understand if he’s saying he had done similar things in the past (trading his precious life for something else he thought was as valuable, thus show his scar as proof he went thru it all before) but how come he can keep the bag of money as that’s not his dream nor his exchanging. Whereas, the rest of the antique items which ML sold to others already vanished as he entered back to (2nd round of normalized) reality realm....hmm..I’m stuck on this. Mind sharing your views?

Thanks for sharing. Although I’m still trying to digest the content of this blog (yea I’ve translated it, yet still don’t quite get how the reality gets entwined with dream realm), but to a certain extent it does given me some enlightenment to this movie’s ending.
