That whole pool scenario- I'm convinced it's "BL Universe" logic.š I've seen these random setups too many times…
I totally get where youāre coming from! My initial thought was with all of Arminās breakdowns, he was strangely calm after being poisoned again and waking up in a strange house washed up and dressed in a robe. That wouldāve freaked me out! He was oddly calm compared to other scenarios, but because he knew it was Thada and Thada always took care of him from afar in the present timeline, maybe he felt safe and was looking for answers. I remember watching Manner of Death (which I loved) years ago and thinking about how nonsensical things were, like how the main pair did really dumb things that made no sense and why that police officerās (I think his name was M) uniform was so tight he couldnāt take a deep breath and no one else had that uniform ?𤣠Sometimes I wonder if these plot holes are intentional and meant to entertain. I agree that the pool scene wouldāve been more impactful later in the series when there was relational equity. It felt like running a race without warming up first.
2nd episode and I'm still confused š There are so many unsolved questions and some scenes felt... somehow disconnected.…
That whole pool scenario- I'm convinced it's "BL Universe" logic.š I've seen these random setups too many times in dramas to tell me otherwise!
You ask many valid questions that I'm also asking! I like your theory about Thada. Even the way he operated in the present timeline had me wondering if he's some kind of supernatural being. If he did set up the poisoning, how did he know it would cause a time slip and not a murder charge? His knowledge about the present/future in relation to Armin but not the world itself makes me wonder if there's some kind of rule where only his memories about Armin are in tact so he can help him reset but nothing else.
As we can see, Armin had a lot of stress in his life due to the people around him. I think he finally cracked from holding it in all these years! It's kind of like when old people lose their filter and say anything they want because they've seen too much and just don't care anymore.š
A masterpiece of an episode! TD may be the king of boyfriend material because the way he is always two steps ahead of Armin to support him and how he looks at him like Armin is the only person in the world are otherworldly. I'm starting to wonder if he's fully human.š¤ He knows too much. Maybe I've watched too many kdramas. Still, Armin and I ask, why is he so visible in the past timeline but a shadowy figure in the present timeline? All I can say is that I want past timeline TD to replace the one in the present. The way Armin stares him down is very overwhelming. Their chemistry is something else!
Lily's hatred for Armin is giving, "You stole my family from me." What did he do for her to make it her mission to sabotage him? Did he reject her advances? Lily and and Achi remind me of Paris Hilton and her dog she used to stuff in her purse and take everywhere. Is he servicing her because what is it about him that makes her advocate so hard for him at the expense of Armin?
Phat is the most miserable friend. He's bitter in the past and present, always yelling and rushing. Armin was loyal to everyone who didn't deserve his friendship.
Sam can go to hell, respectfully! Not only did he use Armin to get that role but had the nerve to ask for help and years later take his man on the low and also kill Armin??? I'm so glad Armin is setting things right!
The 90s fashion is done right! Pharit ate in that oversized camel suit and white tee. He's arrogant but he's stylish. When are we going to see him and Ren together, loving and scheming? I don't think they poisoned Armin. It feels too obvious. There's something deeper at play, but that's not to say they weren't in on it!
Who on earth uses the bathroom and lets their panties be around their ankles?š Lily is insane! I was not ready for that. That alone makes me suspicious of her!
This series is so solid! Let's keep the momentum going!
My boy Armin is crashing out in this timeline. Watching him light up Lily like a Christmas tree is so therapeutic to me.š He's asking all the questions I have, so I feel like we're trying to figure this mess out together.š It's sad how no one close to him ever had his back. Pond can act his behind off. I feel all his depicted emotions!
Pharit and Ren have to be the most visually compatible pair I've ever seen. Their features line up with each other perfectly. That flashback scene of them toasting at Armin's after-party is picture perfect.
I canāt tell you how many excellent dramas Iāve watched that had a 7 point rating and average to poor dramas that had a 8 point rating. The best thing to do is choose dramas based on whether or not the plot summary appeals to you. Watch a couple episodes and if you donāt like it, drop it. I tend to not trust ratings anywhere but my own tastes. I can confidently say this drama has impressed me so far. I give it a 10/10 at this juncture. I just appreciate solid acting and storytelling, regardless of the topic or expression. To each their own!ā¤ļø
It all comes down to what viewers like and value. Think of all the films nominated for an Oscar and won because someone didnāt watch it but voted for them anyway and confused everyone. We humans, human.š
I need iQIYI to be like Netflix and drop whole seasons all at once.š I'm itching for this next episode! I suppose the wait makes it more precious. I'm savoring each episode.š I'm just excited there's a series that makes me feel this way again. It's an event!
I'm easily giving it a 10/10! This was so cute, funny, and non-toxic. I'll miss my loves, RoySa (Roy & Rosa)! They were my favorite characters, although I adored everyone. Our 6'1" G-Dragon, Roy.š He may be my favorite namja in k-drama history. I'll miss his cheeky smile and petty antics.š„° Rosa was strong, fit, and feminine with a sweet personality. Wah, I really liked the diversity!
What the hairline!š I have no words. This drama was truly one of a kind, because in what world would a receding hairline be the reason???š I know somebody has some bonding glue to secure that hairpiece and Got2B hair gel to lay those baby hairs and sideburns down in Korea. We've seen too many lace front wigs in Old Joseon. Namjas doing backflips in a sword fight and the unit staying secure! Joon Seok would've been just fine, and no one would ever know.
Exactly. Some of these ex characters in dramas can truly be beyond ridiculous. Like make it make sense. Its always…
Audacious indeed! I don't know why these kinds of characters get written in. If they're going to do a love triangle, let it be someone healthy whom they never dated.
Never judge a drama by its poster! I passed this up because it looked āhokeyā and I didnāt like how Cutie Pie ended.š The high rating and excited comments made me change directions! The first episode was thrilling. I liked seeing Khaninās life in the UK and hearing those diverse English accents. Khanin has a beautiful tone and cadence. I found it hilarious how it was a pool party and everyone announced it was time to go in the house to play games.𤣠What college is this?
I didnāt expect to cry! Wow. I had some questions, but I wasnāt expecting all of that. I love Khaninās relationship with his father.
Nobody can play an icy, detached character like Zee. I was living for that fight scene looking like OG Prince Harry in his formal military suit.
Samantha is cute!!! Aw I hope we see more of her. Itās always special seeing a non-toxic female character in these dramas.
I watched the anime version of this years ago (Dakaichi) and never made the connection. Then when I learned this was based on the manga, it was a big āDuh! I see it now!ā This depiction is mature and elegant. Thinking about how Thai rom coms can go, this couldāve been silly. I appreciate the fresh, dramatic take.
The hairstyle and smokey makeup for Jin were very haunting, and his skyscraper height and broad shoulders only added to the depth. I was honestly shook. Although a green newbie at first, Jin had a presence. I know Smart from Just Say No (he was my favorite character. Fiat was tragic.š ), so I was so impressed by his versatility. He really became āJuntaā at heart but his own version that felt evolved for these times. Junta could be too much at times with all his heavy breathing and shenanigans. Jin was a safe place, and I really loved that for Akin.
Whoever was the stylist for this drama, Akinās wardrobe was exceptional! He ate. The Chinese drama shoot scenes were breathtaking. I wish it could be a spinoff. It reminded me of Word of Honor.
I fell asleep and had to finish the episode today. I love it! Thereās drama, suspense, jealousy, anger, and betrayal. Weāre not on a college campus. Thereās no guitar in sight or bathroom jokes. This is mature. It has a similar vibe to Manner of Death (an all-time favorite) and Triage. I love the diversity weāre seeing in storytelling these days! Apart from Arminās tragic, dehydrated wig, I see no concerns yet.
Thada has me VERY curious, and I canāt wait to see what his motivation is. Iām enjoying his chemistry with Armin. Why is he so interested in Armin, and why does he stay hidden in the current timeline but engages Armin in the past timeline? Whatās with the escorts? I want to know what Armin went through to reach the top. It seems ugly and isolating based on his fragile rapport with his peers. Call me shallow, but Ren is my favorite. His bone structure and styling are chefās kiss. Heās bad and bougie! I need to know more about him. Lily is mean but a hoot! Why does she favor her little shadow over Armin? She could seriously play the elder sister of Mannow from UWMA.
That ending was everything!
I hope the momentum stays strong! I have so many questions. If this is based on a book, I hate that I never read it! I loved Pond in 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us. Heās a wonderful actor!
I love romance in my dramas thats all i go for but honestly ur are right⦠like the Korean drama āsuspicious…
Suspicious Partner had a strong start. I was loving it at first, but midway it lost steam and got boring. Like your husband, I dropped it too.𤣠Back then I was on my Chang Ji Wook kick and was also disappointed by the K2. It was so thrilling and different at first. I foolishly thought FL would be his love interest because they had that āthin line between love and hateā energy and insane chemistry, but then that goofy 2FL showed up and ruined ML and the momentum. When he was gaga watching her on surveillance struggling to make ramyun and talking at the screen to help her while knowing she canāt hear him, I knew this drama was headed straight to the pits of hell. Ah, the joys and pains of a kdrama fan.š
Ren ate everybody up in that burgundy velvet blazer and those sleek accessories with his hair LAID. You couldnāt tell me anything at that after party. Ren gave us a Vogue Hommes exclusive. āDarling, I AM the trophy!ā
