Hopefully “what the engagement ring!”
I want to see Hyeong Jung enjoy wedding cake tasting because he loves how Mi Ran enjoys food lol. They owe us this for a short series!😭

Rosa and Roy need a rom com spinoff right neow!🤣 These two had my full attention and investment. This may be the hardest I’ve laughed yet. The “flashbacks” and Zumba class had me in tears! They’re both so cute! I figured Rosa misunderstood but I was hoping to be wrong because they’re great together. Crying drunk Roy is too precious for this world.💕Roy and Rosa made up for what was going on with Hyeong Jung and Mi Ran.

It was too late in the game for an anticlimactic misunderstanding. They could’ve kept being cute and learning about each other. The story could’ve focused on Mi Ran helping Hyeong Jung train for the photoshoot and let the tables turn in the gym. Ah well. I still love it!

I CANNOT STAND Kang Dan. What were we supposed to do with that performance? Will he start busking for a living? Will he audition for JYP? Boy bye!

On Death's Game Part 2 Jun 2, 2025
What is it? Exquisite. I’m thoroughly impressed. This drama gripped me like “The Glory” did. Self-reflection, repentance, and justice were recurring themes. You really don’t realize what you have until it’s gone. This drama teaches that nothing in the material world is worth losing your joy, peace, or life over.

Happiness is circumstantial. Joy and contentment are a mindset we choose, no matter the circumstances. ML shows that unchecked expectations can lead to entitlement, and when left unmet, these expectations can make you feel bitter, insecure, and hopeless. He lived like the world owed him his dreams. This drama is a reality check! Count your blessings.

Kim Jae Wook and Kim Ji Hoon stole the show! Both of their characters could easily have a standalone series. These two actors play bone-chilling villains masterfully. They deserve more recognition and quality lead roles!

One of my all time favorites! I rewatched it a few times back in the day and decided to watch it again today. It’s hilarious, cute, and delivers a positive message.

If I had a dollar for every rich eomma character obsessed with her precious ~adeul~ and who uses her wealth to sabotage his autonomy, I’d be rich and live in the Gangnam UN Village, married to Cha Eun Woo with our two kids, Dong Min Jr., aka DMJ, and So Ra.

I feel like we took the long way home. As much as Sol grew on me, her side story was a distraction from the main plot. We could’ve spent that time on cute dates and sweet affection.

Still, it’s all been enjoyable! So sad it’s almost over.

Poor Roy was out here catching strays!🤣 He’s a sweet friend.

I need Ji Ran to love herself. Kang Dan is flake.

ML is a strange bird and gives Y2K stoner vibes. All he needs is a black band tee, hemp necklace, wide-leg jeans with a pocket chain, and Vans checkered board slip-on shoes. I hope FL returns to the present loving herself and pays him dust when she sees him again. He really thought he was out here doing something “humbling” these girls.

This is the healthiest drama I’ve ever watched. I love all the characters. And why am I even more emotionally invested in Mi Ran and Sol becoming homegirls than I am the romance?😅 The friendship chemistry has been on point! If you notice, Mi Ran doesn’t have friends, just her co-workers, sister, and gym mates. Mi Ran and Sol are so cute when it’s just them being girls.🥰 I teared up a little when Sol shared she was battling an illness and was inspired by Mi Ran to be her authentic self, and then Mi Ran pledging to be by her side as her best gym buddy.😭 Supportive friends are a treasure! Sol better not die!🥺

Of course, I’m ready for Mi Ran and Hyeong Jung to be official! This is my favor couple since Love Scout. I love that they’re both quirky and just click. Hyeong Jung finally got himself someone who loves fitness and respects his muscles. Their running together said it all!

It was cute seeing Roy be vulnerable! Deep down he wants to be Hyeong Jung’s friend.🤣 Why else would he pay for a full year membership up front at Hyeong Jung’s dusty gym when he owns a state-of-the-art gym across the street??? I need the backstory!!!

Kang Dan is exhausting!!! Let him go, Ji Ran! You’re too cute for his freeloading, passive aggressive, depressed foolishness. He’s toxic!

Hearing Kang Dan sing and play guitar without an ounce of ability makes me shake my head even harder after that stunt he pulled a couple episodes ago because he was too happy to write sad songs.😩 For whom, sir???🤔 Who is your audience beyond your lovesick gf?😮‍💨

I agree. Tbh I found it to be cheesy. The other songs were good tho.
Yes, the other songs were definitely better. I was planning to Shazam them. I like the arrangement of the Korean-Japanese song. If they sang it in Japanese, I’d add it to my playlist for sure.

Agreed!

Title The Monster Within Spoiler
Episode 1:
This is a tangled web already. Kanon is an odd character. She seems a bit manic. My guess is that she’s being abused at home and is co-dependent with Iteya, hence the apologies after calling for help and telling Kajin she was drunk. Her flirtation with the dirty old man professor and stealing face cream from his wife seem like an escape for her. I do believe she’s being abused. That terrible bruise on her wrist said it all. The fact that Kajin took Iteya at his word despite the call and the bruise she saw earlier is negligent, but if she called the police, Kanon would’ve sent them away by taking the blame. I could be wrong and Kanon may be having episodes and harming herself. Dramas like this love throwing in twists.

Iteya is handsome! This is the best Shiono has looked. He’s definitely giving mature, manly vibes in this role! Kajin looks shaken by him, and he’s working her well. It’s subtle seduction. Kajin has been single and surrounded by awful men, so it’s not surprising that she’s falling for him. Iteya is charming in an unassuming way.

The dirty professor’s wife is uppity! Part of me feels like she killed him. He already looked dead when Iteya walked in. His nails had oxidized, which is common in poisoning cases. His wife was heated when he rejected her and he’s been a problem for her as she ramps up her campaign run.

I like this drama so far! It looks high quality, which I believe is the result of collaborating with Korea. The cinematography and flow are very reminiscent of the Korean style. Japanese dramas tend to be more straightforward than opulent. It’s a lovely change!
On The Monster Within May 26, 2025
That theme song is wild. It sounds like a Jpop ballad with a Japanese vocalist but sung in Korean with a Japanese cadence. I wish they would’ve just sang it in Japanese. Just because this is a collaboration drama, it’s still a Japanese story with Japanese people in Japan. It was just like those weird English songs played during Something in the Rain. Let’s keep it organic.

Japanese dramas can be fearless about morally gray subject matters. They can be quite interesting when done well as it’s a departure from the typical. I’ve seen it done well and abysmally. I’m willing to give this one the ol’ college try.
On Wonderful World May 25, 2025
I finished it! Honestly, I felt like I saw through what was happening, but then doubted myself because it was well played. I had to delete my previous spoiler comment because I was loud and wrong as the story unfolded towards the end!😅 I really loved this drama and found the cast impressive. It’s heartbreaking, infuriating, beautiful, and inspiring. The plot did well depicting how dark the world can be but that there’s always hope!

Ep 8 was meh The ex gf took too much of the screen time. Only 4 EPs left and the romance is nowhere to be seen.
They forced in the usual "episode 8 foolishness" we see in rom coms and forgot they only ordered 12 episodes, not the standard 16. The ex subplot feels out of place and takes up valuable time in a short series. There's little time to resolve the unwanted subplot and invest in romantic development. Since this drama is on the silly side and lots of fun, I'm not too bummed about it as the comedy compensated for this misstep (IMO).

"My name is RooOOoy!"😂 I'd love a prequel series about how Hyeong Jung and Roy became rivals and why Roy refuses to go by his government name. They're basically the same person on opposite extremes lol.
