My gums ached from the romantic tension! That's when I know it's well done. Once again, another flawless episode. I truly respect Ji Yun's honesty about her feelings and confessing to Eun Ho without obligating him to respond. My interpretation of that is she understands the power imbalance between them and as his direct leader, she's responsible for managing her own feelings . Should Eun Ho share her feelings, then the door is open for him to take that step. And he DID!!!🥰
I believe Eun Ho's hesitation and stifling his feelings in consideration of others is his way of preventing what may have happened in his marriage. His wife left him and Byeol. Perhaps he fears being a burden and also doesn't want to experience that abandonment again. Although it's frustrating to watch, this added conflict and tension really builds up the storyline and the relationship ahead.
Eun Ho's gaze is incredibly penetrating! You can tangibly feel his longing for Ji Yun. Although this drama has romantic tropes and fun comedy, it's a mature romance drama. Those elements help break the tension. I don't think I'd be so desperate between episodes if this drama was melodramatic, because the stress and frustration would take the thrill and anticipation out of it. Sometimes you just "survive" a drama rather than find pleasure in it lol.
It was cute seeing Ji Yun watch Eun Ho from afar and smile, all giddy. How long has it been since she had such innocence and joy? Mi Ae is very dense lol. How is she not picking up on anything??? Jeong Hun is very perceptive despite putting on the easygoing act. I'm glad he got dongsaeng-zoned! Su Hyeon is his perfect match. I really enjoy their interactions. Here's to more beer dates!
I can do without the dirty rival side story. I genuinely don't care about that old man or that corrupt CEO. They're too far outside the main plot. It feels like watching ads for another drama. The main plot is strong enough on its own.
I'm glad that cosmetics couple reconciled! I could tell they were still in love with each other and thought their interactions were cute. Honestly, I think their story would be a fun drama series.
That's right, Eun Ho! You've got a woman who will block the sun for you! This may be the wildest romantic trope yet. In a culture that fears tanning, this was the ultimate sacrifice.
The camera and lighting truly, obsessively loves Jun Hyuk at every angle! He's the OG "face genius," holding it down for the Unnie Gang. No one else could've played Eun Ho. Jun Hyuk was born to play this character, and Eun Ho was made for Jun Hyuk! Eun Ho in all his masculine glory has Ji Yun so shook she had to go to the ladies room during this recital to cool off from the heat.🤣
That was a very anticlimactic killer reveal, as warned about in the comments. Woo Jin was a little too curious, knowledgeable about Jeong Woo, easygoing, and conveniently at the bar whenever anything shady went down. His close relationship with Jeong Woo felt unrequited. In that sense, he was kind of obvious. I had no problem with this and still found intrigue in discovering his true nature and seeing how the case would unfold.
What got on my nerves is how delayed the cops are and how Jeong Woo kept letting Woo Jin freely leave after exposing him. Why are we chasing him all over thr city? Jeong Woo could have held him down at the fencing center and called the police. Why are we going on a tour of the city? When Woo Jin was suspected of being the killer of that drunk dad, why wasn't an undercover cop at the hospital watching him until the forensics finished and keep him from escaping? They put that girl with the burned face in harm's way. Her assailant and father's killer was her anesthesiologist! Make it make sense!
We took a long way to get to the climax. It was a bunch of distractions and false leads. I still don't understand Jeong Woo's mother, especially when she's a psychiatrist and cares too much about her son. How could she be so heartless about his loss and trauma? I feel like they sanitized her in the end instead of committing to her being an accomplice. She said she has no right to treat patients because she didn't understand her own son, but then decides to go treat people as a volunteer psychiatrist. Because they're poor, they have to accept your unethical care and help you understand people again? Girl. The writers tried to do too much, and as a result, did nothing.
Lee Yi Kyung was excellent! He portrayed Woo Jin beautifully. The duality in his public and private persona was incredible. I also appreciated how he depicted the internal conflict of feeling angry and bitter while also experiencing sadness and abandonment. When he cried while being threatening, it was the perfect touch. In a warped way, you feel empathy.
One of my favorite dramas of all time. I came for Wang So, but I stayed for Wang Yo and his guyliner. Wang Yo was a flaming red flag, but I loved him and turned a blind eye to his tyranny. For shame, for shame!
This drama had me in my feelings. The plot had to be one of the most harrowing time slips in drama history. It was cute and fun at first and then got downright perilous! That ending impacts me TO THIS DAY! It was truly uncommon, and I loved that.
I'm definitely watching this again now that it's coming to Viki. It's going to make me miss Ji Soo a lot.ðŸ˜
I keep thinking I see Cha Eun Woo lol. ML is cracking me up! I love dramas about academia/delinquency and perseverance/justice. I had been looking for something similar to High School Return of a Gangster, and I think I found it here!
Taiwan did it again! She rarely disappoints. I loved this drama, and it surely ended with a bang. It had a lot of rich dialogue in sign language. That was so new to me. I found it beautiful. Whenever I see sign, I want to learn it. I still need the backstory on Shao Peng's mother's horror cosplay hobby lol.
Jonathan is an international treasure. I don't think I've seen a character quite like him. I don't think anyone has made me blush, gasp, and pause as much as he did lol. Jonathan deserves a spinoff series.
Mr. Cousin needs to go see about himself . He could've enjoyed his money and looking cute in his tiny suits and found love instead of being a bitter king. I know Taiwan had a cute boyfriend for him too, but he was out here playing. He needed somebody like Jack from History 3: Trapped who can handle his crazy self.
The writers and cinematographers continue to spoil us rotten, and I love them for it! I'm obsessed with this watercolor filter they use when shooting scenes of Eun Ho and Ji Yun out and about together. It reminds me of those fluffy shoujo animes.
The light flirting is really cute and escalating slowly to spicy. Eun Ho is a charmer, but you can tell he's holding back because Ji Yun isn't ready for maximum power yet. She's going to be beside herself when he unleashes his full power. I'm already blushing, so I'm not ready either!!! That late night phone call with Eun Ho? We need more of those!🤠I was waiting to see if she'd take him up on his bedtime story offer.
It's not the couch that put your insomniac self to sleep at Eun Ho's house, Ji Yun.🤣 It's Eun Ho's peaceful presence!
Byeol is officially Ji Yun' daughter. She's passed the test! Let's just update the family registry now and take the wedding photos, so we can have newlywed episodes.
I didn't like that Luxury Sale CEO. He was giving toxic workplace vibes. No thank you! Offer refused.
Career Way continues to be trash, and now the plot thickens! Why is Jeong Hun's father committing a conflict of interest? Now we've got chaebol shenanigans. I get tired of these greedy old men on their power trips. Nothing's ever enough for them.
Looks like this next episode will have conflict for our pair. I always hate this part, but I do like that she actually admits her feelings. Let's just hope our man still has a job somewhere in the company. He's gotta feed Byeol!
I just can’t forget Kim Yoon Hye’s character in Vincenzo 😂. Every time I see her I imagine she will dance…
The first few episodes I was like, "Why do I know this girl? And literally that dance was the flashback I received.🤣 I'm glad to see her in another iconic drama!
This episode was perfect! I wouldn't change a thing about this drama so far. It balances the comedy and melodrama very well as this romance carefully unfolds. All the pieces are tying together beautifully. I usually get annoyed when comedies draw unknown, past connections between several characters like everyone in the city knows each other, but they do it in a fun way where you're excited to see each connection revealed.
The pace and development between Eun Ho and Ji Yun is just right. "Blazing Friday Night" is right, Byeol! Su Hyeon's mom told no lies. Eun Ho's trapezius muscles and "Marry Me Soup" are but for a limited time! It's a wrap! Honestly, Su Heon has "kid sister" energy. "Abbeonim" is more her speed.
If you have a vision board and you're believing for a husband, put up a photo of Eun Ho cooking lol. He's stolen Captain Ri's crown as the romance drama king. Cap had a good run.
Byeol sounded so cute calling Ji Yun, unni. I love their little conversations and quality time together.
Wow! What is it about the drama that makes you keep coming back? I really love it myself, but at the same time…
That makes sense! The story flows at a consistent pace too- no lulls- so I can see how you could sit through it multiple times and not be fatigued. Thanks for sharing! I was so curious.🙂
I thought I commented on this drama when I finished it, but I guess not! The Glory is supreme storytelling. Song Hye Kyo gave an outstanding performance. I became her fan because of this drama. The flow of the story keeps you on pins and needles with sudden bursts of triumph, relief, anger, and heartache. Anyone who's ever experienced injustice will find this drama cathartic. The actors who played the bullies were excellent as well. You hate them on FL's behalf and feel wronged by proxy. I've seen a few dramas about patient, long-suffering revenge, but the Glory is far superior. FL's revenge was a dish served cold with antifreeze.
Yeo Jung and Do Young were such treasures. I adored them both and wanted a happy ending for them. I hope to see Jung Sung Il in more dramas. He's wonderful.
They depicted the romance perfectly. It was set beautifully in the background at a gentle pace. The way they wrote the romance honored the leads and didn't gloss over the seriousness of their stories. Sometimes romance is depicted as a cure-all and comes across as heavy-handed. I loved FL's little tent she used as her room in ML's home/medical building. When she'd go inside it, she looked as if she was reconnecting with her lost innocence and healing her inner child. It was very sweet.
I love this drama to this day and happily rewatch it. It's simple and comforting. ML is really cute and gives a mean blowout. He's all about FL and loves her passion and dedication to her craft. I like how FL doesn't allow her life to revolve around the man she loves. She's really adorable.
Fukada Kyoko is an absolute queen and my favorite Japanese actress. I watched this when it first aired and have rewatched it a couple of times since. It's hands down one of my favorite dramas. I plan to rewatch it again.
Aoshima is definitely giving younger guy vibes with all the teasing, which can be confusing for our mature queen, Yukino. He needs to come correct! Thank goodness for a wonderful friend like Takako who's helping Yukino navigate it all. She's adorable. I actually want to know more about her. I really like Aoshima's step-mothers. They're funny!
Rika needs to retire and marry that boyfriend of hers or roll her sleeves up and do some work. I'm tired of her being lazy. Yukino needs to speak up for herself and hold that lazy bird accountable!
I love this drama. It's cozy and cute. Although it's that same tired trope, the approach feels fresh and fun!

I'm really curious how ML's influence will shift the school's culture. That's always fun to see in dramas like this!
