A forever favorite! I still can't believe how the production imploded.😭 I really believe we would've gotten a second season. This wasn't just a drama but a movement lol. It was refreshing to have a new plot in BLverse! We saw mob life under a different lens, and the characters got to be strong and also vulnerable. I wish we saw more about Kim. He deserved a spinoff.
Pete was absolutely insufferable. It was impossible to root for this couple. I felt Kao could've done much better for himself than be with this insecure man. The fact that Non was considered competition makes me cackle to this day. Pete really wanted to square up against a baby.😮💨 He could've just ignored him.
When I tell you this was one of my best experiences during the pandemic.🤣 Thailand put her entire back into making this drama and did not disappoint! I feel like it was groundbreaking at the time because back then, TBL's had limited plots, i.e. being in high school or college, playing a guitar, or studying engineering. The focus was on the creepy mountain town and the crimes rather than the guys. Instead, the romantic development was the bonus. I was legit fascinated by the different cases, and there were those unintentionally camp moments to laugh about, like Inspector M wearing a "smedium" uniform and Dr. Bun and Tan botching common sense tasks.
JBL's set in the office are my favorite! The high Viki rating gives me hope that it won't be a waste of time. They tend to rate more fairly than here lol.
I love this drama to the moon and back! Sweet and spicy with a dash of toxicity. The plot felt fresh. I found this angle of being a "kept man" interesting. I feel like if Yoh had self-confidence, he could've been living bad and bougie on Mizuki's coin instead of feeling bossed around, but then I guess that would've changed the entire vibe that made this drama great. I really appreciated the cozy atmosphere: the cinematography, soft lighting, soothing narration, the house, and the sweet friendship between Yoh and Manju. This drama is definitely in my top five with Old Fashioned Cupcake, Cherry Magic, and Our Dating Sim.
Whew this is heavy. I'm only starting episode three and feel like I should be on episode 6, due to the extreme emotional investment. ML is his own worst enemy. It's always hard to watch a slow train wreck, but I understand how he got there. Kim Nam Gyu...😞 A splendid human being. Ah.😭
The acoustic music during the end credits is nice.
I rewatched it this week after four+ years and I still love it. Some dramas are just fun and aren't meant to be a masterpiece or groundbreaking. It's silly comedy with cute moments and relaxing to watch. I still think Mil/Phukong was a waste of air time. It was an odd pairing from the get-go and painfully boring. Dim/Green should've been the secondary plot. That whole bit left so much unsaid and they're both interesting and fun characters. I consider that a missed opportunity.
This is one of my favorites, so I had to watch again. It's sweet and flirty with a lovely bit of tension. The chemistry between the leads still makes me blush. Visually, they're the perfect match. I find the episode length to be just right- no too short to leave you disappointed but not too long to drag things out with stupid misunderstandings and useless side characters causing unnecessary conflict. This drama is one of KBL's best.
I'm rewatching! It's a hot, cringey mess, and that's what makes it fun lol. Toh's friend group makes the series for me. They're so loud, over the top, and supportive of each other. It's comforting to watch. Daisey and Som are my favorite characters ever. I really hoped Toh would get a makeover at some point and level himself up.😅 That heavy, bowl mullet haircut and the 1970s bifocals needed to hit the road!
It's been nearly 5 years. The fact that FL even CONSIDERED 2ML both baffles and irritates me to this day! He had ZERO redeeming qualities. All he had was being "old." Instead of Second Lead Syndrome, it was Second Lead Indigestion. This man was terrible! He was so deplorable. Selfish and basic! He was not some handsome, distinguished gentleman with a cold heart. He was a legit dusty. FL didn't deserve ML's enduring love and affection after that. You considered a dust mite when you ALREADY had Prince Charming who adored you and romanced you, because he's older than you???? Girl... ML may be younger, but he's a grown man with a real job and works in your office. Plus, he's more mature than your 32 year old self. I'm still disgusted. This could've been great if not for this clownery. FL's insecurities and 2ML cost this drama the Noona Romance Hall of Fame.
The teasers have me excited! Finally, a mature romance with grown folks in it, and it depicts a competent woman in leadership! No goofy tropes or women playing second fiddle. Search: WWW left me yearning for another of its ilk, and here we may be. I love the whole premise: Female CEO who shines in business but has lost touch with life outside her career; her handsome, capable secretary is secretly fond of her and is a loving single father. This is something different. I want to see raw emotion, deep talks, and passion. It's smelling like a slow burn. The most tender meat is slow roasted. I've got my plate and I'm ready to eat!
This is what the K2 was supposed to be! Yoo Jin & Je Ha for life! Boss babes need to be loved and romanced too.
Please update this man's picture. He was Cha Eun Woo before Cha Eun Woo. Sung Hoon is a visual KING and breaks Father Time's hands every year. Frozen like Elsa, he doesn't age. He has a gallery full of gorgeous pictures that showcase his glorious beauty. His face card never declines.
I love Sung Hoon. Why is he so vastly underrated in all the best actor list? He is in my top 5 favorites. I have…
Sung Hoon is exceptional! He is a glorious visual and fine talent with an endearing personality. Sung Hoon has the range to play many characters. I believe he hasn't received the recognition he deserves because he's a bit inconsistent in choosing good scripts. He's also been typecast a lot as the handsome, cold chaebol/exec. Revenge Marriage is a phenomenal drama. I hope he continues to be offered more quality dramas like this one. Honestly, it's nearly flawless. This is the first time since Crash Landing that I really believed in the couple. It felt like I was peeping into someone's life rather than watching a drama lol. Noble My Love was quite good too, and Sung Hoon was lovely in it.
It's the same tired and run-through trope, but I'm here to give this dorama a try lol. I really wish Viki and Netflix would get licenses for the more creative and daring doramas. Japan actually offers many original plots, but those are rarely the series that get licensed in the West.😮💨
Bo Kyung and her partner are seriously the only officers in the district.🤣 They answer every call. I love the running gag between them and Dong Shik. They're very wholesome and trusting. It's interesting to see how their profession hasn't left them jaded.
Park Sung Hoon is this generation's Shin Sung Rok. He plays villains beautifully, and in many different shades. His Seo In Woo is up there with Kim Jae Wook's Mo Tae Goo (Voice), my favorite character of all time.💖 Bone-chilling, handsome, and sharply dressed. There's nothing like a good villain in thrillers.
I appreciate Ayato being honest about his feelings and not letting Hayami punk him, despite being a shy person. A lot of times characters like him are written to be passive and bear their burdens in silence. FL is giving 45+ housewife-boy mom vibes. I'm not getting vibrant, cosmopolitan 35 year old who's seeking love.
The acoustic music during the end credits is nice.
