I'm tired of all these characters full of trauma, disabilities, weaknesses... no one to root for or who appears…
they do though, it’s just portrayed in a more realistic way

In episode 8, I found Hiroto’s reaction to be selfish, as if he didn’t care what his sister had endured even…
i found everything he said was justified. She’s very impulsive. She dragged him in her troubles when she hasn’t been in their lives for years. Reaching out for help is fine but the way she did it without explanation. She instructed her son not to tell anyone his identity. And he saw Lion suffer so much. She’s doing everything out of love for her son but what Hiroto saw was a kid facing the possible death of his mother, his mother being dragged by the police and so on. In any case I like how they kept the same dynamic as when they were children.

I like the overall idea, the characters and how some of them developed. I think this drama succeeded in 2 things

—The brooding male lead
Rarely perfected like this one, the longing, the restraint, hesitation and all is all convincing and given good reasons for them.

—The antagonist
I like that he was given a deep backstory while keeping him psychotic.

However the writing suffers. Some characters were written in such frustrating ways like the female lead. Her character, past and present, just doesn’t have what it takes to compete the task she was born to accomplish. I also felt a lot of stories was the story was winging it
Started off great, but kinda lost its touch 2/3 in. The characters became really inconsistent then. Some characters became cartoonish.

I like the partnership between the lead. They manage to follow through each other’s thoughts with their way of thinking and open to different possibilities. I thought they made the perfect work buddies but I wonder if Kosaka was hinting at something else in the end?

So formulaic that watching 1 episode is like watching all of them. The overuse of dramatic music really brought down scenes and events but the biggest let down was the reveal in the end. The explanation of motivations of characters was just… stupid. Everyone involved should be held accountable but they aren’t.

I would say a waste of a good cast, but I know this genre is popular in Japan

I am worried that from we saw from the preview that they will go the forgiveness route with the father. I would…
So far I don’t think they are going the forgiveness route BUT Japanese drama are notorious in showing forgiveness for unimaginable crimes by minimizing them and making excuses. I hope the characters stay consistent.

Ah that ending (episode 8) was expected the moment they were left alone. Not to mention, I was convinced she was…
The audacity, yes! But so far very consistent in his character. He’s weak among his adoptive family and takes it out on his wife and son and blames them for it. He doesn’t think he’s wrong and just shifts the blame hense why he has such audacity.

I can’t like a drama where I don’t root for any character. The reveal of episode 3 made me despise all three lead female characters, especially the main one. Then as the episodes go on, I hated all of them. They are basically teens that failed at becoming adults.

The drama had a good ending, but by then I didn’t care and was happy it was over. The only reason I didn’t drop is that it was only 6 episodes. There wasn’t much story to tell though when like half of it was REPEATED flashbacks.

The production/scenery was nice, acting weak.

Why was the computer even on?🤨 Why did she not take the computer home? 🙃 Plot conveniences.
Also the pictures being left behind

how much I can avoid intimate scenes and which episodes are those in?
Just avoid their rich friend’s phone around episode 3 or 4 (at their reunion), that was it. There is another intimate scene but doesn’t show beyond making out which is easy to skip. I did see the last episode yet but those scenes were it.

Gotta warn story wise it’s not that good

i feel the same about her. i know you want to let the world to know the truth but youre ruining your friends lives…
You’re singling out YOUR FRIEND for a crime you have no proof he’s done. If that’s journalism for you then no I rather you never become one. Not that I believe in journalists these days, better get your news from comedians they actually DO check their sources.

They’re such crappy friends, so pretentious, I don’t care what happens. I’m only finishing because it’s short.

I’m only half way through episode 3 and so mad at all 3 female leads, but especially the main one. I hope she never reaches her dream of becoming a journalist, she will just destroy lives. Her sense of justice is misplaced.

Hard for me to rate because on one hand, it’s a unique story and setting, the acting was superb. The story just didn’t attract me. It presented all sorts of dysfunctional and abusive characters so it was uncomfortable to watch. I wouldn’t say it was condoned but at the same time was took too lightly. The acting is top notch though.

It had the same soundtrack as Ama chan so I guessed Kudo Kankuro is behind it.

no I think he cares about the victim that’s why he sent her to stop him from going further. He’s protected…
He told her he can’t stop her seeing him, and knowing the police are on her trail he knows she’s going to be caught so he ended his contract there because he can’t help someone who won’t listen. I’m saying that but I understand Aoi, his methods are very cold but that’s usually the only way to keep people away from her.

knowing Japanese dramas, there’s always redemption even to the worst of people :P
But yeah you’re right, maybe the antagonist is someone else. So far everything about the dad is vague.

thanks god! I think that’s like I thought😭the dad was the one abusing lion, and probably Aoi too! and Aoi…
no I think he cares about the victim that’s why he sent her to stop him from going further. He’s protected as long as they don’t know where he is, and she’s protected in prison. But it’s heartbreaking that they are apart.

Those damn reporters though… They don’t care that they might be putting people in danger as long as they get their scoop

So after finishing it I realized this drama is meant to be a prequel to a long run popular kdrama. This gives the last scene of this drama so much more meaning!

Episodic cases are my thing so I really enjoyed this drama from start to finish. The story is as happy as can be when the setting is in a very difficult era. The characters might seem too idealistic which makes them easy to root for. They are a colourful bunch but they do get along with each other all too well. A little tension here and there would’ve added more realism to the drama.

Enjoyable! I highly recommend it :D
