That Eerie feeling stays till the end. I loved how seemingly unrelated stories all came together about halfway through. Some things were well thought out, others pretty predictable. The overall theme of human desire is well conveyed. All the characters here are driven by selfish desires, and just don't want to own up to it.
Actually what took me by surprise is the high school girl, and what was revealed the last few minutes. She might've had good intentions but man she was scary.
One thing I find weird: She's calling him Oni-san the whole time, all the way till the end!
haha when you feel like using it, please send me a list so I can add em all to my PTW list ;D
From old school dramas: https://kisskh.at/5709-kono-yo-no-hate Basically about going down the abusive relationship spiral. Great chemistry between the leads despite the dark subject. https://kisskh.at/1901-a-sleeping-forest The whole time you're kinda wondering what the main guy is up to... I think... it's been a long time I've seen it but the lead had some darkness to him and the whole drama overall. https://kisskh.at/495-yasha Ito Hideaki plays twins in this drama, one good and one evil. There's a lot to this drama and where the twins end up. https://kisskh.at/1502-ikebukuro-west-gate-park Not the main guy but Kubozuka Yosuke plays the most awesome badboy ever!
Really enjoyed your list. I loved SFD but I agree with what you said about Bang Won. In my eyes he is THE ANTI HERO and I loved how he was portrayed. #3 is based on a jdorama One Million Stars Falling From the Sky. I think I can come up with many anti heroes from jdoramas but right now don’t feel like using my brain :P
how were they inaccurate im about to start this JP genre.
I Sanada Taiheiki available with English subs? I'm very interested in the Sanada clan but I REALLY hate the actor playing Sanada Yukimura + I dislike the writer (though Japanese people really like him) so I wouldn't want to waste my time watching Sanadamaru
Before leaving Japan I had the honour of going to Kagoshima just to visit all those historical places. My time…
I meant within a limited time I travelled way too much (also made sure to visit Ueno park in Tokyo on a very rainy morning to see his statue before heading to the airport. I went to London at the time for a short visit to my sister, and that’s when I completely passed out lol
I didn’t like the kid version of him so I’m glad they only spent 1 episode on it. At times I found it overly sentimental but generally really loving it and learning so much I didn’t know before! The clan’s history and people were so colourful and interesting.
Legit crying on the last ep. Saigo was a great man. I wish all politicians and more people were like him. He was…
Before leaving Japan I had the honour of going to Kagoshima just to visit all those historical places. My time was very limited and it was crazy for me to do it but I'm so glad I did. Just gotta say after my last few days in Japan, I passed out 4 days straight XD
Kagoshima is really far. About a good 7 hours by Shinkansen from Tokyo, which makes me wonder how hard it was for him to be traveling back and forth at one point.
Typical j-dorama in every sense, even in the way it emotionally gets to you when you least expected. My favourite was episode 7, which really delves into human darkness and the philosophy of this drama.
If you mean the Aizawa gets electrocuted scene was over dramatic, I can see what you mean. But it is super rare…
No I meant the music was overdramatic. Like it didn't match the scenes most of the time.
I get they have their own story, but some of them were too childish, especially assuming everyone got it easier than she did, and saying hurtful things to others. It was out of place and uncalled for, AND unprofessional.
This article really impressed me! The details and the history, I really love how you added the analysis of what the movies represented in each era. I never gave a Godzilla movie a chance. You really changed my mind about it.
Anyways this sure was a great watch! Up to episode 14, I would've given it at least a 9, but just the way they suddenly "figured it out" didn't make sense. The ending was underwhelming. Overall still one of the better kdramas out there. What I like the most are the characterization and character development, always subtle and never forced, but there for the most part.
Was surprised to see it available to watch on the plane. I haven’t seen the 3rd season yet or the recent SP. Overall engaging. Overly sentimental and total mismatch of music. Most of it overly dramatic and all of it just out of place and not fitting for the show. Our main cast has grown generally which is nice to see but the younger ones are just annoying (unreasonable at times).
Perhaps one of the most realistic portrayal of love in any Japanese drama. There's no he's the only one for me,…
The cast of this drama sure looks amazing, but not sure if I'll enjoy it. I especially miss watching Matsuda Ruihei.
It's funny my view of romance in the past was similar to yours. Didn't like the whole cheesiness and people not capable of moving on. After having my experience in real life, I've come to believe in the cheesiness XD But somehow I can't stand watching romance drama even worse than before. I've become waaayy too judgemental and a much worse person in that regard. So I stay away.
Tried watching this purely for Ldw. Had to drop it. Just like Stranger, this not my type of drama in the slightest.…
First time I watch something from this writer, but I'm loving it. I can see how it wouldn't appeal to the typical KDrama viewers. I agree in a way it's dry, but very much on point, especially when it comes to our modern corporate world. Jo Seung Woo is definitely the highlight of the drama for me, even though I started it for Lee Dong Wook.

Basically everyone is up to no good here. Ito Hideaki again. You hate him one episode then love him the next, then hate him again...

Snarky CEO of a company that decides to go back to school. You'd think he just doesn't care but behind his harsh comments are truths and words of wisdom.

A hated musical but I enjoyed it. Lead is a typical bad boy the main girl wants to "reform".
