Actually, it was a misdirect Lu buyou did die in the fire... It was lu zhi's friend from the brothel, nicknamed Turtle who became magistrate wei...
At the end of episode 11, I thought that Mr. song who suffered the greatest injustice of all was the only person whom I could look towards favourably even if he turned out to be the killer, because he suffered the greatest injustice... Even Lu buyou taking revenge for his family could be seen worthy but Turtle who was paying a life debt choosing to spiral down the dark path by becoming a killer himself was something too extreme.
But the script writer showed us a contrast between two people's ideologies, Mr. Song chose to become a judge so that others would not suffer the same injustice that he did... And Turtle who now also had a powerful position in the court gave preference to his personal debt and chose unlawful manner to kill rather than punish them as per the law..

From the short preview of episode 16 we could see that Rong Yu has recovered his faculties but is still faking intellectual disability.
As per my opinion it could be that he doesn't want Jiu Ling to leave his side.. Which he thinks she may do so if she knows he has recovered.
OR
He foresees some future which may prove to be dire if the Regent or jiu ling's senior finds out that he has recovered... Rong yu is a good clairvoyant, the Rong Yu family are accomplished sorcerers according to Rong Yu's uncle. .... So to lull the enemy into a false sense of security he may be pretending.

Yeah could be, she is in mourning, but I feel that she will wear more subdued colours when at home or in social situation befitting her new marital status as the lady of the house...... When she goes back to war or is in confrontational situations(looks like it from the conversation with The Emperor) she will dress back in red.
Jiu Ling changed her dressing style from episode 14, her hair style is more suitable for her current status also she is wearing more sober colours, she is often sporting white and off white.... This is surely to show maturity and growth she is undergoing..... Loving jiu ling in her new attire.
