Re. the age gap, I was being a little sarky :) in the present time the gap is not significant, but he's a vamp and they live long so if we're really counting then yes it gets huge, though he's forever young in appearance. Finished it and liked but it won't be to everyone's taste. it reminds me a little of an indie film. I would have liked it better if it had indulged me. LSJ STILL FINE! LOL.

Thanks sooooo much for this cos based on what you said in para 1 this drama would have taxed my patience to the max; don't think I want to bother.

PrettyC apologies for my late reply but went to work and crashed when I got home. Now insomnia is about to kick in high gear at 12:31 am :) For sure if I get to Beijing...no make that WHEN LOL (speaking positive here) I get there we will link up! Still watching Freeze and it's a little wierd but I like it so far...nothing major but I like the two main characters even though there's a huge (understatment) age gap :).

Hello Starlight (hope you don't mind me shortening your handle) XD, and thank you for the request. I like to make friends but warning I'm not always able to make timely responses so forgive me in advance. ^__^ Also thanks for the comp on my page, was trying to infuse some sunny Bahamian flavor :)

I looked at your list and reviews and saw there are many of the ones you've watched and rated high that I loved so I'm presuming we have similar tastes in dramas and what we like. eg. Swordsman, Prince of Lan Ling, Vigilantes in Mask, Sairway to Heaven, Autumn Concerto, just to name a few. I love romance, saeguk and wuxi genres. I have added some of the dramas you've watched, from your reviews. I recently finished Ancient Terracotta War Situation and enjoyed that. Also just finished 'Lovers' which I thought was brilliant and very well done; there was none of the idiocy in making assumptions and exercising poor judgement or immaturity of the main characters which was a great relief.

I'm currently watching 'Freeze' and 'I Hear Your Voice'. What genres are your favorites and do you have a blacklist for actors/actresses? I don't have one as sometimes they are good and other times they miss badly so I haven't come across any who have consistently ticked me off enough to exclude watching them in the future. I note you don't have Queen Hyun's Man nor The Greatest Love on any of your lists, both of which are well touted and very good. Is there a reason?

My wordiness now is to make up for future tardiness XD

Last note before I go for true this time as we say. I saw you watched 'I Love You Don't Cry'. I was interested in watching this but wasn't sure 132 eps was going to be worth the investment. Is it worthwhile? I too am jealous you're your own boss and don't have to baby sit some 'JAs' calling themselves your boss ^__^. On a serious note if I do make it to Beijing, one of the things I will explore is possible technical assistance re. film production industry ie. training, building sets etc. cos HK Film industry is huge. I know language barrier and culture will make this a challenge but I did say 'explore', and the Chinese are big on what we call 'back door diplomacy'..ie. they will do whatever it takes at their expense to make China look like a 'lamb' XD ikr?

Oh la la..I absolutely loved that scene as well where he said he kept telling himself go to Yu Jin XD and like you I am now big fan of LSJ ^__^ So much so that I am watching 'Freeze' Ha ha As you can appreciate I will at some point rewatch Lovers. I do have City Hall on my ptw list as well as some of the others by the same writers. Will also say that LSJ's dimples not only slayed MJ but me too XD loved to see him smile or even smirk. Enough mooning. Lady I got to get in the tub and get ready for work! As the song says 'its 5 o'clock in the morning' (actually 5:42 am). Have a great one! BTW if I make it to Beijing you better believe S.Korea will be one of the 1st places on my to visit list. My PM told me about a week ago he's going to post me there. Let's see if its a politicians promise esp. as this was initiated by him XD

LOL …I agree with you that MJ did not steal KJ and that is why I phrased the scene the way I did. That relationship had run its course and you got a sense of that in the opening scene when KJ and Sang Taek were fishing and talking about YJ. It seemed that he was with her out of comfort and habit. I'm not so sure he would have married her had the baby situ not come up because he had a perception of himself as not being worthy of a 'good woman' and family because he was a gangster. Only after he opened his heart and fell in love, I think he started to really yearn for the 'impossible' as he describes it, and she made him believe they could have that together. That is why he changed his lifestyle and humbled himself on the job XD (it was too cute to watch him refusing to bow to the customers, write reports or do any 'cheering' ha ha). I think it is because of his love for her, and more importantly his understanding that her father as a priest would not want him to continue to live the life of a gangster, I think their future would be a legit one. He has all the support at hand from MJ, his 'brother' and old the Director to live his life properly and leave the organized crime alone. And as you said all the others had done so, therefore the probability is high that he did so too.

I just completed watching this and it is an excellent drama. None of the weak, stupid women that you usually see in dramas. The women in this have grit, and I absolutely love the romance between Mi Joo and Kang Jae. The love triangle was portrayed in a way which made sense...none of the 'you must love me because I love you' syndrome from the 3rd wheel that you normally see. This was a well done, mature love story with protagonists who were intelligent and acted rationally. What a relief because too often you see the lead characters jumping to stupid conclusions and making idiotic decisions as a result and it has you pulling your hair and gritting your teeth, or making you want to smack them XD ^_^ (just saying). I think 20 episodes was good and not too long.

There were many scenes that stood out for me due to 'sense and sensibility' :-D especially those between the two women. I particularly liked when Mi Joo tells Yu Min "I dislike you'..bam! No more no less LOL I thought tell it girl no matter that you in love with her man and feel a little guilty tell her how you feel. Again between these two when Mi Joo tells YM to tell her what she has to say 'cos every time she invites her to a meal she usually says something that gives her indigestion :-D. Other dramas you'd probably see the heroine suffering abuse from the wronged woman and not really taking her on due to guilt. I also liked the scene where they had to protect Mi Joo and Yu Min and MJ suggests they go home to Shin Do and gives reasons. I thought that's right strategize girl don't just let them have all the say and it's your life in danger. I also liked the scene when Kang Jae tells her they would always be looking over their shoulders (para phrase) more or less and whether she could live like that and she says she's not scared; she accepts the reality of the dangers of being a woman in love with a 'gangster' and actually commits to staying by his side without judging him. Again I liked the grit and guts of the characters….life can be a bitch deal with it so to speak :-D

Did I mention first class acting from a stellar cast? I do believe that Yoon Mi Joo has become one of my favorite female characters right up there with Lee Se Ryung from The Princess' Man. They were strong females and were well matched to their counterparts.

Girl, what can I say? Awesome! I really liked that this was a mature film with characters portrayed intelligently and very well developed right down to the number of various secondary characters. The romance was so good from the rocky start to the surprising feelings to the deepening of those emotions...everything. I also liked the storyline and found it interesting how they handled the love triangle. This has become one of my favorites and I will be watching this again. It was a real relief not to watch the characters jump to stupid conclusions, or do stupid things. The characters had backbone and used their heads. I also did not expect this drama to escalate as intensely as it did in the last 4/5 eps. Wow what a turn! I enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks for the recommends. I actually picked up Love Rev. from one of your friends who had mentioned it as a good romance, so I looked it up and liked the synops. Am tired as hell...stayed up watching Lovers :) but I also had some insomnia ? LOL

I noted that you also put Salaryman on hold...I didn't even get beyond ep1 and just put it aside. It didn't draw me in and so I figured to wait for a bit and when I'm really stuck for a drama to watch it. I may be more predisposed to watching it under those circumstances XD

I'm at ep 17 and still having a great time with Lovers. I think it's very well done. I have put Love Revolution on my ptw list; I read the synop and boy could I relate to the main character. BTW what else is done by the writers for Lovers?

PrettyC thank you thank you :-D for recommending 'Lovers', I absolutely am enjoying it to the max! Only on ep 8 but it's been all good and I am savoring the moments. It's well written, directed, acted all that you want in a good romance and story telling. Running late for work cos I was watchin this drama got to go. Have a great day!

PrettyC, I saw from reading your comments on Cheerful board that you really enjoyed Golden Emp. XD I'm glad you did. I had basically the same sentiments that you had re. Tae Joo and the Choi family. I too was not so taken with the ending, because I felt 'suicide' was a bit out of sync with his personality in that he was a fighter. However I do appreciate he did suffer from what seems to be a bit of manic depression given the abuse of the Choi family, so in that sense the suicide would make sense. I'm in the early stages of Lovers ep. 3 and loving it so far. Mi Joo's character is a scream she's so feisty and has me laughing. It's a good start for me.

Started watching 'Lovers' and I am loving the scene where Mi Joo is insulted at the blind date and she first throws the red wine, and when the date protests she then throws the water and as he starts to talk she cautions him on not speaking any further to avoid more humiliation...I love her ...she's a gangster LOL
