It doesn't make any sense... I don't understand why people don't believe in justice. If someone is being investigated,…
" If someone is being investigated, it means there's something worth looking into." - that would depend on whether you trust the system to be fair and just. Your kind of logic was used by every totalitarian regime to brainwash their population into believing that if they arrest /investigate someone that means that someone is guilty. Millions upon millions were persecuted and executed under the mask of "law". People on this board mainly do not trust SK law overmuch, and with good cause.

the german was SO BAD. how can the director even mix in glaring grammar errors? one of the worst "german-speaking"…
LOL! Or turning Helsinki into 2 separate non existent cities day travel from each other in a Snowstorm of Love... But I think production values in this drama are really bad all around. Just think about those gold painted pegasuses at his grandfather's house! Or that appalling 'Munich' square and fake hotel! Or the 1 class cabin on the international flight! I wonder if Chinese movie makers think their audiences are so very uneducated and lacking taste that they would buy these sort of things. Or maybe they don't care?

That director used Berlin!! aerial views claiming it was Munich. Talk about F for production values.

Licentiousness? What about sanctimony, hysteria, pearl clutching and acting a poster child Karen?
I am a lawyer, and I live in the US. So allow me to have a clue on what laws actually work and which do not, but are used to placate and manipulate. As to your point about schools, we are talking about cruelty of sending a guy to prison for getting addicted to pain meds because he is in constant pain, not about schools in US and kiddies.

Not ridiculous. He was in possession of drugs and that's illegal in Korea. He can get help in prison.
What poliana do you live it? HELP in Prison? As to laws, some laws are bad laws and harm people. Most of us here are not SKoreans and our attitude to their laws is that they suck. If you worship laws just because they are laws you may consider giving your philosophy of life it a bit of a thought.

I love this guy as much as I love SKorean laws and morals, and I'm so happy that the State is forcing him to return…
Please report to us after you have spend a year or two in constant excruciating pain without sleep, and let us know how happy you are to be on the right path that the government pushed you to take. Deal?

I don’t understand how they can change him for things he did outside of the country. It always struck me funny…
Some countries - most in fact , assume limited jurisdiction over their citizenry even abroad. That is why when you are in trouble in a foreign country you apply for help to your embassy. I believe it is called Extraterritorial Application. Of course not all domestic laws travel with you abroad, and you are expected to comply with laws of a host country as well. Most paranoid dictatorial regimes expect their citizens abroad to comply with basically all their authoritarian laws, and persecute people for violating them when they get home. SK is not an dictatorial regime, but drug laws travel with their citizenry everywhere they go. My guess the whole region was severely impacted by the opium epidemic of the first part of the 20th century under Japanese rule when Korea became a major producer of opium, and the addiction was widespread. SK is a traditional country 20thies and 30thies of last century may feel like ancient history for Americans, but for old countries it feels like a day before yesterday. The insanely cruel drug laws are likely the reaction to it.

I guess you guessed right about yourself . Ad to it ill informed, cruel , authoritarian busybody. You want to deal with issues, give yourself an education, and find out how useless draconian measures have been throughout history in dealing with drugs and alcohol.

She is so tiny he can toss he like a plush doll. I lost count how many times he picks her up and carries her in this drama.

I don't think he did anything wrong! Why does he have to apologize? She was the over dramatic one.
He took the blame , I think, because arguing about who was right and who did what wrong would not get her back, instead would drive her away for good. His objective was to get her back, not to be right. I think he is an astonishingly smart man, who knows how to put his ego aside to deal with people and with her in particular.

why would there be anti fans for this particular drama? is it the leads? the writer?
In my experience hating on an actor is seldom rational, but it is a rush - some people get off on negative emotions. It makes them feel alive. Rejecting something or someone who others like is a quick way to feel a rush of power , at least for a second.

Do MDL ratings make any real difference for the actors?

I'm confused, too, about Episode 31. Why did she hide what ZD told her and instead get into an argument? She's…
@ Draco . He says it was a trade secret, and I have no reason to second guess it - maybe it was a bad translation, but it was a part of his business strategy, as as such it was a trade secret. I understand why she was angry but in my book breaking into his safe was crossing a major line. Going to his direct competitor out of anger was a betrayal, but she is only human. She was furious, she never even let him explain, but I sort of kind of can understand. But the safe thing, that is where it became unacceptable to me. What if someone else was finacing her, and she didn't like what they were doing , would she break into their safe in the middle of the night? She was taking advantage of their personal relationship ,and that is a very shity thing to do. The fact she doesn't even apologise for that ever is also something.

Short answer: she got very insecure, and fell for Di poison. Long answer: he is really quite outstanding, brilliant,…
yeah, I think they went overboard with making everything nicely working out. Her abandoning her team and then coming back like nothing happened to their applause made me cringe. His public speech I thought was ridiculous and on and on . It was almost like the show lost its way after ep 30, and was meandering.

I think ZD thought she was doing all the right things: she studied to fit him, she followed him to Germany, she started the business and was good at it, she was good to his family, she was elegant and socially savvy, grandfather liked her, she was appropriate choice for wife of someone in his position. But (in her eyes) he chose some nobody from nowhere for no good reason .

As to justifying JH , I too was furious when she did it. But what I mean by love is not transactional is that we onlookers judge and justify or not justify behavior, but I don't think he was even thinking in these terms. To him I think it was not about 'how could you do such a thing to me!' He focused on THEM together. He says one thing that I thought was extremely wise: "Holding grudges hurts US". Not you holding grudges hurt me, but us holding grudges hurt US. I think he saw the whole situation in very different terms that we do.
