Short answer: she got very insecure, and fell for Di poison. Long answer: he is really quite outstanding, brilliant,…
She was immature and impulsive and what not, but it was him who maneuvered her into a position where she had to experiment with high stake business .he needed her to be on the par with him and his grandfather's expectations. She was changing and changing way too fast , and felt she was losing herself. So she emulated him in what she believed was his ruthlessness. And he is ruthless, btw. Anyway. I think there is no such thing in life as equal in everything love. I think they both loved each other in the way each of them could. They fit. I think he was right, love is something not easily defined, you often understand it looking back at the end. Also love, imo, is not a grade for good behavior, real love is not transactional, you can't earn it by doing all the right things. You can ruin the relationship by doing wrong thing, but it doesn't cancel love itself. Di was doing all the "right" things, and when it didn't earn her his love she came undone and turned evil. Love is complicated and can be unfair.
I'm confused, too, about Episode 31. Why did she hide what ZD told her and instead get into an argument? She's…
No, he didn't mess up. It was a trade secret, and also he was playing a much bigger game than her little start up. She was expecting too much. Way too much in fact. She thought if he loves her, he would tell her everything, and do everything the way she wanted. That is very juvenile. As to his answer, to begin with her question was not entirely sincere, she was testing him, she wanted a high romance answer but got a real one, and she freaked out.
I don't why she got mad? Because he didn't tell her about Hanhai? I don't understand his business play. Hanhai…
Short answer: she got very insecure, and fell for Di poison. Long answer: he is really quite outstanding, brilliant, extraordinary even. She is very talented technically, but very naive in business and a bit too idealistic in life. She is also very competitive and wants everything to be her own achievement. He has been mentoring her in business without her even realising that he was. And because she didn't realise it when she found about Hanhai she felt manipulated, and small. That made her afraid of him and angry. She was right about one thing: they were not equals, not in business acumen. and not in resources. From my point of view she was expecting way too much of his trust in business too soon. But nobody is perfect, and even smart people behave like idiots in relationships.
I am on ep 36 and I am running out of patience. 6 eps for the stupid separation because she is an idiot, who had allowed herself to be manipulated by a snake, is way too long. His public speech about giving him another chance, I thought was so corny and out of character, it made me cringe. And then a kidnapping and the rescue crew just on cue. Really? The whole thing just felt so fake. I liked this drama so much because it had an grownup dialog, and had only a few tropes and stupid plot twists, and the two of them so good together! But now it is like the writers have run out of real plot and were padding 6 eps it with nonsense to get a total of 40 eps. 😳
After the merger, JX became VP and her team from XingChen made remarkable contributions to Hanhai-XingChen and…
She left. The accomplishments of her team after she was gone are not hers. She literally abandoned them at the most stressful moment because her love life didn't look as romantic as she wanted. . In real life that sort of thing is not easily forgiven by employees. But now she is suddenly in charge of developing talent. Developing people is not the same as developing technology - the thing she is good at. She sucks at dealing with people - at every level.
How come she gets to question him on whether he really loves her, but her love for him is never in question? When everything is rosy she is gushing sweet promises, but at the first sign of clouds she runs away to another country. How is that love? On a separate note, I am struggling to see how she deserves the promotion to VP - what is her qualification to develop talent in others? She even abandoned her own team.
Not just invasion of privacy. That is technically industrial espionage 😜
I don't see her in such stark terms, people as he pointed out have many sides to them. But one thing really–really made me doubt her values and her maturity, or lack thereof, and kind of turned me off of her: she abandons not just him and their relationship, but her team. And that after all the pretty speeches about humanity and friendship and the rest. At the end of the day she showed herself to be just yet another very talented girl, ruled by her ego and emotions . And that is sad.

She is very passionate, idealistic, naive and imo a bit self centered. This is a second relationship she is ruining for basically the same reason: she makes it all about herself. "I will not have liked you, if I didn't think YOU like me" "Live and die for ME" "without ME your world will collapse" and of course her having her business her naive way should trump any other consideration, and she is blind to all he has really done for her business. That is a heluva childish and self centered idea of adult love.
There is something I don't understand about ML family. His parents died, but where are his sisters' and his 'uncle's fathers? It seems a whole generation of men is missing from that family. What happened to them?
I am finally in eps 30- 32. Di is a venomous snake, but our delightful little FML has a lot of growing up to do. "Simple" is a very harsh way to describe her, but a bit on the nose.
I love love love their interactions! The R&D stuff I could do with much less of, and the secondary couple I am ok with but not crazy about, though LiLi is just great. But the 2 of the MLs are priceless!
I am behind the curve only on ep 20. Didn't they go to Munich? Because 2 seconds panoramic views of the city is BERLIN not Munich. The main tourist attraction in Munich is 12th century central plaza with its famous massive mechanical clock with moving figurines, and not remotely what they show. Where did they film their 'german' scenes , I wonder? 😂
Viki episodes are at ep 34. Did you pay WeTV express package? They are both legal sites. The subtitles itself are…
I am with you on legal sites. Same here. And I completely get the part feeling grateful for getting to learn a language. It is truly something, isn't it - to get to communicate in a different language? My teachers were fond of quoting “To have a second language is to have a second soul,” I don't know about souls, but it sure feels like having a second frame of mind :)

Translation of movie dialog is very hard. I started out thousands of years ago :) with simultaneous live translation on film festivals. It is a bear to do. I have also translated conferences, 2 way negotiations, as well as documents, and I run translation teams and used translation soft. I get the issues, but making it work is what being professional means. . I have no issue with Viki release schedules, it is annoying to be behind in the discussions, but I understand why. What I don't understand is why they are not posting their release schedules anymore, and imo their attitude to quality of translation sucks. They expect their viewers to do the work for them, and that is just not cool.

I said the their English subs were a disgrace for paid service. ( not just for this drama btw). Not sure what your rant has to do with that statement. I had done 20 years of professional translation, and to me Viki's output in English is offensive. It is so full of grammar, spelling, gender, tense, word order, prepositions, and other mistakes it sometimes takes several reads to guess what they meant to say. I have no idea how grateful you are, considering we don't know each other at all. I respect volunteers who put their time and energy to provide any kind of translation to other fans, but Viki Rakuten is a many billion corporation based in California! They should be using PAID professional editors, not AI and not volunteers.
