Title Will Love in Spring Spoiler
Same here. The endless discourse about life, death ,and fate got unbearable for me on the 18th ep and beyond
True, but that storyline left me kind of on the fence. I mean, it was lovely and everything that he made it possible for her to have her business in her hometown so they can be together, but I was not buying into the premise that his job at home was some sort of sacred mission, and hers just a job in the city. The whole thing with giving meaning to her job by moving it to the hometown , smacked of propaganda to encourage young people to go back to villages. It felt fake to me.

But 21 did deal with the same , in a sense. Him coming to the city to judge the embalming competition, them getting finally! together because of the death scare. And the whole monologue at the very end. I felt like was watching a lecture on Buddhist bardo of death, not a tv drama. It got to be a little preachy at the end too.. Her speech at the city council presentation about how he was important to her and all that jazz, was uncomfortable to watch..

I know it is supposed to be funny, and it is satire on misogyny or whatever, but for most of the drama FML comes across as completely unhinged. Smart, good at lawering, but majorly insane with an OCD re men. ML is kind of endearing though.

I am watching up to ep 18 and I get you. I think I really got into this drama in ep 4 or so but by ep 17 and 18,…
Yes! And , well, normal :). This subject deserves attention, and the way they dealt with it was thoughtful, but maybe it would be better in a 1.5h movie instead of 21 eps.

I started out by really liking it. Great acting, great OST, interesting characters, singular theme, minimum tropes... and then suddenly, mid 18 ep it all started to be too much. I finally finished all 21 eps, and I kinda feel exhausted by this drama. I happen to belong to a long standing multigenerational community, and death is a ever present thing there. It just is. A week doesn't go by without someone posting about someone passing. So it is not like the subject was new, or shocking, but it became too much somehow, and the endless monologues about death and fate just went into overload. I basically stopped caring about the leads, I just wanted it to be over...

No, he doesn't 'deserve' better. Nobody 'deserves' anything in love. Love is not a gold medal for best behavior.…
'They both have their flaws and burdens' is the whole point of the drama, I think. But you know, I don't think it is not misogyny. I think it is us falling in love with leading character and turning into their overprotective mamas with 'she is not good enough for my boy!' , or maybe thinking 'if it was me I would treat him so much better!!!' 😜

In this drama, this mother married twice and both her husband died in accidents. She has to live through adversity…
In one of very first scenes when FML just comes home her mother is already yelling. I am on ep 19, so I know what you mean about her life, and I do sympathise with her, actress is also extremely good! But mothers behaving badly is such a trope in Chinese dramas! I am literally struggling to recall one when it is not the case .

Let's not judge others, but let's lecture others on their comments? I really don't care what some people enjoy or not. But I find submitting a questioner to viewers asking for a detailed synopsis a bit amusing., to put it mildly.

Why is this mother such a grump? I am trying to recollect a c-drama where mother is not either a harridan, a hysteric, or a offencive medler with overboard ideas on whom her daughter (son) should marry, date, kiss, be seen with. Anyone?

No, he doesn't 'deserve' better. Nobody 'deserves' anything in love. Love is not a gold medal for best behavior. It is not transactional, like arranged marriages are. He loves her, and that is the only thing that matters. And btw, he is no picnic himself. He is one helluva difficult man with a helluva difficult position in life for anyone to live with him. As to her playing victim... I hope you never have to experience the kind of permanent disability that she is dealing with. Something so huge that is becomes a defining force of your life, something that affects literally every step you take. She is not playing victim. She is one. She is a victim of an accident, she is not blaming anyone for it, she is not asking for handouts. She is living her life on her own terms, and she is figuring it out as she goes.

Yes I do realize that it is a fantasy sci=fi. But the issue is that I didn't find this particular sci-fi appealing. BTW I have not suggested that others won't or can't sympathize with her. I simply said that I didn't, I sympathized with HIM for being forced to serve her. Bondage in sci-fi that leads to love is not my cup of tea. But each to their own.

Sad stories are no excuse for obnoxious behavior and terrorizing others. None whatsoever. Take it to your psychiatrist, or priest or whatever, but if your 'sad story' harms others to me you are a b*tch. .

honestly so sick and tired of those people saying that the drama is bad when they only watched a few eps of it.…
The drama is very enjoyable. I personally love it, though e-sports is not my thing. But the FML is a big problem. She is cute, but hopeless at acting, it is like watching them all interact with an inflatable doll, and she is given most of the screen time. Because of her ineptitude many scenes don't work: like when she starts to lecture ML on "leading with love" . It looks ridiculous because she had not established her character as someone who has any emotional wisdom to advise anyone. ML is a fantastic as leader btw. Maybe the actress gave it her all, but it really doesn't matter. The problem is casting - she should have never been given a leading role, she is not qualified. The rest of the cast is superb, and they carry the drama for her, which is ironic in a show about how professionally great a FML is on her own merit. It is understandable that some people don't want to put up with the bad acting for the sake of the rest of the drama. Ss to rating without watching to the end - so what? Let them. Those who like the drama like it, those who don't don't. In the end it doesn't matter what others think.
On A Good Day to Be a Dog Apr 26, 2024
The story line is a mess, revenge makes no sense, that mountain god is a complete psychopath, who could not even keep his lover safe. The puppy is cute though, main leads are charming, but their love story is a recycle of many other stories. Total waste of time.

Population decline is not just China but maybe worldwide problem? except India due to their tight family structure.…
Yes, it is a fascinating subject. I just listened to a 4 hour long lecture on world demographics , recorded on the conference in Istanbul. There used to be alarms sounded about overpopulation and impeding world hunger, because the earth would not be able to sustain so many people. It is ironic that now we are alarmed by the prediction that the population is likely to shrink by 40-50% by the end of the century. We live in interesting times.

Population decline is not just China but maybe worldwide problem? except India due to their tight family structure.…
Population decline is a worldwide phenomenon, with an exception of Africa and India, which demographers attribute to urbanization, and predict that Africa and India will start shrinking by the second part of the century. Apparently agrarian societies have many more children than urban societies. Not sure it is a "problem" , or for whom it is a problem and why.. As to "Family values are universal." - no, they are decidedly not, but that is a different conversation. If you want to commend the drama - go right ahead. I found it lacking . One more thing: this is a Chinese drama, so discussing social issues of China is relevant. Discussing Korea, however, is not so much.
