LOL! You want him to grow old and die as well and that would be a happy ending in your view 😄 She fell in love…
I think your English is perfectly fine, I must have misunderstood. But I think we do know what their ending is going to be like: she will die and he will go on. He will have to accept that nothing in life and love is permanent - something he had refused to do in his human life so violently he denounced god and humanity. The Go0d told him things always repeat themselves, but we have free choice in how we handle them, that makes the difference.
What, why so many hateful comments? You gyus dont know what is a "bad" drama 😂I liked it. I watch dramas since…
LOL! You want him to grow old and die as well and that would be a happy ending in your view 😄 She fell in love with a demon, not a human and yes she will die and he will mourn her. The whole drama is about "love hurts" - everyone we love will die and leave us, or we will die and leave them. That is what life is, and love take courage to face it.
Chen Kun is Chen Kun ,endlessly watchable, even if he is overly theatrical. Other actors are solid, but I found the plot to be below mediocre. Everything hinges on ridiculous coincidences, and the overlay of communist propaganda is quite strong.
I don’t hate it, but it wasn’t that great. I liked the past lives- always do. The ending wasn’t good- for…
She made a deal with God asking for him to be back, not for him as he was 19th century, but for him, the demon, as he was in this time. And he didn't want to be human, he didn't he ask for it, nor does his sacrifice for her atones for the mass murder he had committed back then. When she discovers that her 10 years of happiness with her parents were courtesy of a deal with a devil, - otherwise she would not have even been born - her reaction was not to hate him, but to thank him. I think the whole point of the ending and the story is that there is no happily ever after. Nothing is forever. There is only happy now for as long as it can last, and that is of great value. She is mortal, he is not. HE will pay the price of her dying and leaving him alone, but he still chooses to love her and live a 'normal' life with her. When she died in his human life he went on a killing spree, and denounced God, aka All There Is. Now he will need to learn to just let her go. That imo is a big deal. Same as her thanking him for giving her parents 10 more years of life and her own existence. There is a price for everything, and this is theirs.
I dont understand most of latest negative comments. It was really good and interesting. I almost didnt skipped…
I think in general the level of burning obsessive hate this drama has engendered is weird. I am thinking maybe because a drama is a fantasy land, people tend to insert themselves into it, sort of trying it on . And SK , with all his extreme beauty, has a sort of unobtainable quality, he is sensual but not available, not to anyone but FM - who herself is no girl next door. Also his acting style is very different for a Korean drama. It could irk some people. Or maybe some people just hate it because it doesn't fit their personal images of god and the devil, fate , hell and the rest. This drama was a bit of fluff, but it did touch on very deep themes: like rebelling against God and fate. Maybe some people are uncomfortable with that. Some here also have very strong opinions about how comedy is supposed to be acted. 😎 I for one laughed out loud on several scenes. My fave is the flower in his teeth. In general for me this drama was very enjoyable. It was not perfect , it has some plot holes, like how on earth did the son of the evil one escape from the burning car? Some scenes were a bit corny, but I think that was due to blocking and directing, not acting.
God was not introduced as "helpless old beggar woman". That is only how main chars saw it. But really? Dropping…
I loved ML exchanges with Go0d :) And I loved that he didn't kotow to the whole 'fate' thing either. Sure, it was not the canonical rendition of the God/Devil relationship, it was not a Faustus or Paradise Lost, but that is precisely what I liked about it, and it worked for this kind of drama.
I had it on ice for the longest time, but finally started to watch. I am half through. It is just brilliant. It is complex and smart. Probably one of the most intelligently written dramas there is, with clever, strong characters, and relationships that are profound, and where things make sense. The plot is a like a chess game, and it is fascinating. Drama does show its age a bit, in pacing, staging, and costuming, especially wigs :) but it is minor . One more thing, first time I tried I watched with subtitles and could not get past ep 10. I just can't watch the acting closely and read the subs at the same time. And if you are not watching the acting, you are missing quite a lot. This time I bit the bullet, and watched the dubbed version . It makes them all speak very unnaturally, with strange inflections and pauses, which I found distracting. But for the sake of actually following the plot it was worth it, though some of the dubbing text was really bad.
I too would like to see Wu Lie in a dramatic role with a FM lead with some spark and personality, sharp dialog…
Me too. He is one of the most fascinating young actors I know of. If he works in movies, especially if we can't get to see them, it would feel like a loss.

I wonder if movies are censored as much as dramas. With more and more restraints put on entertainment industry in China I worry about what choices he and other actors really have. He is a talented man, who knows, maybe he wants to direct or do something else entirely. 21 years of acting is a heluva lot.
Ok, first this drama caught my attention because of Wu Lei. After, watching him in Love Like The Galaxy, he's…
I too would like to see Wu Lie in a dramatic role with a FM lead with some spark and personality, sharp dialog and interesting plot. Wu Lie has been acting since he was 3, i think, so he kind of grew up on screen. This is his first purely romantic role, I guess he needed one to establish himself as a full adult, but I think he needs better roles.
Lol! They seem to have converted Helsinki into 2 fictional cities Hel and Helsin and make him commute 7 hr each way to see her. In the book it is New York and Washington DC.
I think this was probably one of the worse written dramas I ever watched in any language. I know many love it…
Yeah, that apartment thing kind of made me gag. He buys an apartment in Europe on loan! as a gift for her because she felt sentimental over the laundry room?!
Maybe you should just move on. I find the FL quite mature and love the love at first sight trope. Also love the…
I am not a HE. And my 5.5 rating was only for the last ep which I thought was awful. But please do ignore me going forward. Having these exchanges is not going to bring me to like the drama more , or you like it less. So there is no point.
I guess I'm in the minority, but I'm not a huge fan of this couple. The overall story and the world of competitive…
It wasn't predatory of course, and it wasn't a sugar daddy as in an older man wining and dining a girl for sex , who in turn is using him for money. But it was so overboard with treats and presents, and all sorts it had that vibe a bit, I agree. Also she did like his touch in the book, but in the drama she is playing cute and innocent , - which was misleading.
