I don't get the hate either. It seems SK provokes almost pathologically obsessive anti fan response in some people, who do everything to vote this drama down because of him. As if it would make any difference to his career or popularity, it just pathetic. The same was over Nevertheless, only worse. It is quite bizarre. I agree with your review. I think he is good in this drama, and the drama itself is very enjoyable. It doesn't go to hell later; well maybe it does, but not in a bad way. :)

I liked his interaction with God. He was asking all the questions that many believers ask. It was also about the power of choice and sacrifice to alter fate. His relationship with her was a delight to watch . But I agree there were a lot of perfectly silly things inserted just for fluff and laughs, I thought. Like the office workers and the Dogs turned cooks.

Asian censorship on TV is draconically conservative. People are not that much,. but they pretend more in public. I had not read the whole thing, because the translation is appalling, and just too much work to make sense of. I got to his return to China and gave up. Couldn't agree more. She is 23+ by the 18 ep. At that age immaturity is not cute, it is majorly annoying and self centered. She literally makes him do all the real work, while her contribution to the relationship is making little noises and ask for cuddles and pout. It is not even 12, it is toddlerville.

Thank you for explaining. I am familiar with the actors you mention so I now better understand what you mean. Personally I liked SK in this role. I don't think he was doing comedy, he was playing a dangerous and arrogant demon with a very goofy personality. And because it was so unusual it was fun to watch for me. Also he was acting against Heo Jung Do who was doing buffo comedy on steroids, a style of comedy that personally I can't stand. I think it might come down to cultural preference, to me SK acting style is more European ? for the lack of better term. It is much more subtle, and internally focused. Any way thank you for your explanation.
