On a LMH binge after watching The King. I want to like this so much and LSH does a fine job but the FL is just…
I don't mind the short king, but I am with you on the FL. Why, oh why did they write her to be so damn stupid and clueless! Of course the set up is fantastical, but still.
I think comparing it to Lolita is an unreasonably huge stretch. Goblin set up is a fantasy. He is a millennia…
Yes, I understood that, and though all sorts of things can remind us of something unrelated, I think objectively it is a huge stretch; as well as regarding someone who is 19 as a teen in the same vein as someone who is 12.
I watch kdramas since the start of 2018 to be exact so this drama was always on my list, so after 4 years and…
I think comparing it to Lolita is an unreasonably huge stretch. Goblin set up is a fantasy. He is a millennia old GOD. She is not a regular human either, her existence is made possible by him giving her his energy. She is not supposed to exists in the normal world. This is a mythological set up, and has zero to do with real life teens and dirty old men. BTW, Lolita is 12, this one is 19 to 29. No comparison.
I think the age-gap thing was exacerbated by Kim Go Eun playing 19 (in my world an adult, albeit a young one)…
Not even 12, it was maybe 6 :) . The age gap didn't bother me, but the baby lisping and "aegyo" were really getting on my nerves. I think she dropped it later in her career, for which I am grateful.
Pure delight. The relationship between the two ML is a joy to watch . They are so playful! The way drama approached the arts, social class, humanity, family, character, love - all of it was light, poignant, fresh, and funny! Oh how funny. Also it seems to me they took almost every cliche of k-drama and did it differently.
En un inicio me gustó mucho, pero conforme avanzó la historia me cansó y sentí que se quedó estancada. Hay…
I also liked it until I didn't. I really liked the stories of the 3 women, but the main love relationship became about her emoting on how they can't have a relationship . It was tedious to watch, and I became exasperated with her for being so self-absorbed in her fears , patronizing of him and emotionally immature all at once.
I think the whole mass psychology needed to grow the hell up. What is happening now with these never ending 'revelations' is nauseating. Worst even it trivializes the plight of people who deal with real abuse. And there is a difference, despite of attempts to blur it. I wish the whole paparazzi culture can be outlawed, and the media held responsible for flaming this kind of shit into major firestorms.
Do you think everyone will look at his character the same way as before the scandal ? I don't think so . He is…
"separating character and artist is not possible." - Try it in reverse : if an actor plays a massive jerk would you despise him and berate him in real life?
It seems to me that what most people are actually saying is stop judging one way or the other, we know nothing…
I think grown up people should know how to differentiate between an artist and the art. A person can be a royal jerk , and even a criminal, and a genius all at the same time- one does not cancel the other. If we want only morally unblemished people create art we will have no art at all. And I for one don't want to live in a such a universe. Also when people are accused of actual CRIMES, there is , or should be, a legal process to deal with it. What I object to is the court of public opinion aka mob, venting their personal grievance and frustration at life by destroying people they don't even know. That is not a way for any society to function.
It seems to me that what most people are actually saying is stop judging one way or the other, we know nothing…
I think that both sides of every so called scandal are taking it too far. I think people are projecting their personal issues on actors, and then going berserk defending or denouncing them . It is crazy, and imo it is unreasonable and vicious. Yes, in real life victims are often not believed by the authorities, bosses, courts, police , and it is a huge problem, but it is a different issue. The self proclaimed victims of relationships gone wrong , however, are not in the same category while the damage of their 'revelations" is irreversible even if it was a lie, or a misrepresentation, or just talking out of hurt. Life hurts everybody. Love hurts even with best intentions; being hurt in love doesn't necessarily make one a victim, And frankly these 'scandals" are becoming a bit of a trope.
