Are you talking about the departing scene from his father? Because if you are, I totally understand - I swear Xiao Zhan loves giving pain. When he started crying I was like yup - this is about to hit me in the feels.
I just saw a BTS clip of Xiao Zhan acting like he was getting electrocuted during the cage scene. He was literally holding air & acting like he was getting electrocuted while he was holding onto his plants. That is . . . . just amazing! I really thougt he would be at least holding onto something, like a fake vine or something.
Okay so finished with my first five episodes and lol I had no clue that china believes in dropping so many episodes…
This is nothing lol. A certain drama actually released all 49 episodes all on the same day. Having only 5 episodes in a span of 3 days is actually a quite slow release in my experience. I usually see shows release like 4 episodes a day!
I have to disagree about TS being a coward here. Sure he wasn't all calm and collected, like he supposedly is…
I like your understanding of the drama - since it seems you have seen/read the original source. Clearly you seem to be disappointed at certain aspects but are still willingly to look pass it & give the drama a chance :). I personally can't compare but I think the pacing is done well & it could be fillers for a original source person but I feel for someone like me those episodes are required since I might be lost without them lol. Hopefully you like the drama as the series progresses :)
Ou Si Ka is my favorite already! He's the humorous type of character that really makes you lol. Also really liking…
Ahh I see. Well I guess I can understand people that have read/watched the original source. But for someone like me who hasn't I just think it would be weird to see a character OP right off the bat. I like to see people develop into their powers. Even Goku (yes a dragon ball Z reference lol) wasn't super OP in the first episode - he became OP as the series progressed. You actually see him going through many trials in order to gain more power & get stronger - which is what they are doing in this drama.
I agree, hopefully as the series progresses maybe the people who have see the original source will like the changes the drama did - after all the author of the series approved of them so it must have been done well.
Episode 7 where Tang San kow ties to his master - seriously had me in the feels. The way Yu Xiao Gang looked at Tang San it was so captivating & moving. The actor did a great job during that scene.
Just finished episode 7. And you can tell the story is finally getting past the world building & power development phase & going to the actual plot line. I think the pacing for this show is really good. It isn't slow & it isn't too fast.
Episode 7 is where you meet a good chunk of the main cast - & I kind of like Ao Si Ka. He seems to be a bit of a fool but funny kind of fool lol (if that makes sense). Overall episode 6 would still be a part of world building & power development for Tang San. While Episode 7 is where the main story starts getting introduced.
I read in the comments that some people are saying that Tang San should be super OP & stuff. I didn't really watch the anime version so I can't say but I think I prefer that he is slowly building up his powers. Especially since his power is deemed as "weak" - it would absolutely make no sense that he is kicking butt & taking names with a weak power. Also, I think they are also introducing the power scheme along the way as Tang San is levelling up. Which is better for the audience who have never been introduced to the novel/anime.
I also love the acting so far - no one has really disappointed. I still can't get over how great Xiao Zhan dubbed his voice - it sounds ideal!
That looks freaking amazing!!! It looks absolutely beautiful!!
Yea I can't find the option as well. I was just talking about the pictures from the links. Hopefully they give international VIP/non VIP users that option as well. It looks quite good
All the platforms have 5 episodes up, but 3 are VIP.
Yea I realized now lol. I guess I got the Tencent VIP just to watch ahead by a few hours lol. It's all good - I was going to regardless to show support for Xiao Zhan's dramas :D!
Agree with every word. I also really like that all the explanation and world building is very organic, introduced…
Exactly. I tend to always fast forward the parts where they just talk endlessly in those shows - whenever I watch it (martial art/fantasy is my least favorite genre). I prefer the way Douluo is doing it - they explain it but they also show it happening along the way. Which I think is perfect - show examples with your work lol.
I honestly think the story telling of this show is absolutely amazing. Episode 2 had me laughing so much with the banter & the conversation between characters. It was really a great episode. Episodes 3 - 5 were more about the continuation of the world building & how people in that world obtain their power. I honestly think they are doing a great job in introducing each aspect. They are explaning it very well that you can understand it without getting overwhelmed with too many details. You kind of are learning of all the levels & techniques at the same time as Tang San without anything extra thrown at you.
I absolutely love the CGI soul beasts as well. The snake looked amazing!! The visuals of this show of course is also breathtaking. I honestly just binge watched episodes 2 - 5 and I still want more. It is really good! I can understand if some people say it is a slow build in those few episodes - but they do have to build a foundation of the world before they dive into the actual story. If they just jumped into the story I feel people would get a bit confused in how everything works. That is why I think they are doing a great job at world building - it isn't too much content but simply straight & to the point so they can get to the actual story.
Tbh I wish they would air drama soon like within a year and half at most. This year I saw a teaser for this drama…
Yea & sometimes they just add restrictions while your filming & even after it is done. So it is literally playing a game of chance to know if your drama will be able to pass censorship. Must be hard for the people working on those projects!
