I understand what your saying - and completely correct that no one can just cut someone out after loving them. But I feel like she has a responsibility to her thousands of soliders & also the kingdom she is a princess to. If she was just a normal girl than she can take her time - but the problem is that she isn't. Thousands of lives are on her shoulders and she can't be selfish by only thinking about herself. She already got the fake princess killed due to her negligence, if she continues like this then she is always going to get blinded by love & never be the general her people need her to be. I just wished MZX was smart like they portrayed her from the beginning.

You make an excellent point, I honestly pushed past it because there was so much already I was upset at during the scene. The fact that Prince Bo knew she was walking into an ambush (his ambush) but trying to "help" her with her battle schemes just brushed me the wrong way. But, now that you mentioned it - you have a good point. She was taking the battle strategy lessons way too easy and just flirting; like the lives of her soldiers meant nothing. Especially, since she knew Ma Jing's brother was already sick and could be dying. It was definitely no time for stupid things like flirting or having a "wedding" before the battle.

Your also correct with the fact that when she entered Chu Kai's palace she should have started being fierce & learning how to handle her soldiers. Especially since her family just died - but all she kept thinking about was Wolfie and Prince Bo. I feel like her priorities were really off putting. Did she just forget her entire family was killed and the lives of her Ma soldiers are hanging by a thread. But instead she allowed Chu Kai to take over the soldiers and do with them as he pleased - while she went off to have a blissful life. She wanted revenge but was okay with someone else getting it for her.

Ji Chong is Ma Zha Xing's problem solver. He has been resolving every problem for her while she constantly keeps adding to the problems. Like the entire scene with the fake princess - I really wanted to slap her. If you told Ji Chong before about the plan then you wouldn't have fallen into the trap set by Prince Bo. Instead Ji Chong had to figure it out himself that she was a fake and then try to find a way to fix the issue as well. Not just that but he was the one that figured out her true identity which pretty much gave her enough power in the Ji empire. Everything is falling in place for her while she has done nothing to obtain it. It bothers me because since the beginning of the show she was shown as a brilliant person but she has done nothing since she found out the truth about her families death.

I agree so much with that lol. That is probably the ideaology he is living by with making her "stronger". It's like well she didn't die so it must have contributed to her growth -_-. Upto episode 35 it really feels like Prince Bo is her enemy & isn't really showing any case of backing down from the fight with her. While she is just like "no, please let us work together. I still love you . . . blah blah blah". Like girl he killed your family (this is what she believes at the moment) why would you even think that way. Grr she is making me mad . . . I thougth she would get stronger or less influenced by Prince Bo after finding out . . . but if anything she has gotten worse. She is just a bag of emotions now - one second angry and the other in love.

Finished Episode 35:
I really wanted to feel for Ma Zha Xing but OMG her lack of judgment is really bothering me. She is supposed to be known as a smart girl but all her decisions so far is just . . .stupid. I forgave her hastiness for wanting to get revenge because she just found out that the person she loved (Prince Bo) was the cause of her families death. BUT, few episodes later she can't even kill his battle Wolf or him. Like I face palmed so hard when she started looking at him with love sick puppy eyes - like wasn't this the same girl that didn't care that her army was sick but pushed them so they could be ready to get revenge for her. So it was okay to push them to the brink of death but when it came to you actually getting revenge you froze up and fell all in love again.

If it wasn't for Ji Chong she would literally be dead 20 times over - and yet she continues to make dumb decisions that will hurt not just her but the people around her. This is why I never understood what Prince Bo meant when he said he wanted to make her stronger - HOW did you make her stronger? She is so weak because she fell in love with you. If he never got her to fall in love with him then maybe she would not be in this situation. If anything the people that are actually making her change is Ji Chong and his father by teaching her what she is doing is wrong and making her wake up to reality. Because Prince Bo is only teaching her anger which is not a good skill for the battlefield because you get blinded by everything else - it is best to be level headed. Which of course she isn't.

I absolutely love the Ji family - they are like the complete opposite of the Chu family. While the Chu Emperor uses his son's to gain more power the Ji emperor wants his son's to do what is best suited for them. And he actually loves his sons and won't just throw them away. The Chu emperor is using Prince Bo (from the start), the 1st prince died but he used his death to kill Ma Zha Xing's father, 2nd prince - I honestly forgot his existence after he imprisoned him at home & 4th prince . . . . well only one I think he hasn't used (yet).

Douluo main page has announced that Korea has bought the copyright for this show yesterday. So, maybe we are getting really close to an air date.

Family of history lovers lol!! Egypt is it all for me. I love the architect and of course the religion beliefs they had. The politics are interesting but not as much as the other topics. Roman Empire is interesting but I think Ancient Greece beats them lol. Again I think its because I enjoy the divided politics they had between the various City-states. I love the turmoil bwahha lol.

Ancient Egypt!! That is my favorite lol. I love the concept of mummies, pyramids & just the overall history of the pharaohs. I been to many museums that have exhibitions around Ancient Egypt. Ancient China - the thing that mainly interest me (when I see dramas) is how the politics work and how there were several emperors for different regions of China because they were divided until an emperor united them.

I only look it up if it says "it's based off a true story" lol. I tend to always assume many dramas are based off of fictional characters so don't even put in the effort to look it up.

ROFL! That was very nice of you to help those thirsty xFx, lol, who were unable to access the Tencent's stream. I watched it from the stream and it started off with 500,000 views but when people found out that XZ was performing it peaked to 15 million :O. The performance was absolutely amazing (visuals as well but I think we already know that lol) - I hope we get a downloadable version of the mp3.

I don't believe Ji Chong is using her. He hasn't done anything to actually imply that; from what I have seen so far. If anything he has done things that are against his character to help her. Giving up money (which he loves) because he didn't want to help Prince Bo who was being cruel to her. Also, after telling the Ma troops the truth he could have left & not look for MZX. At that point they were no longer the Ji empire enemies or his problem. So him helping to rescue MZX is simply because they are friends and he cares for her.

You sound like a history enthusiast. I am in awe you were able to realize that the characters in this drama were actually from real people. Shows tend to give a disclaimer that its based on something but I don't think there was one for the Wolf.

I KNOW!!! This show is perfection (neglecting episode 18). The romance was definitely very weak but I didn't watch it for that - I wished they completely ignored that element but whatever. The mystery element more than made up for that flaw though.

I don't even want to talk about that ending. I have done my best to delete all existence of that dreadful episode 18. I would have been content with any ending except for that. Even if they just kept it at the girl dying- it would have been better than the "it was all a dream" ending.

I need to rewatch it when I get time - I want to see if I can catch any of the hints that I missed the first time around lol. But of course without watching the lsat episode.

This emperor, he tried to give a sob story for why he killed the Ma clan. I am not buying what he is selling. “Oh, he ignored my letter when I asked him to save my son – this is the reason why my son was killed”. Umm, but didn’t his son’s lieutenant betray him and hence, he got poisoned. Be a man and just say you wanted the Ma Clan's army to fight a war because you are power hungry.

I feel so bad for Zha Xing. She is everyone’s chess piece from the emperor, Prince Bo & Yao Ji. Prince Bo moving her around the board because he wants to “protect” her but neglects to tell her important information. He constantly keeps her in the dark which allows Yao Ji to manipulate her. Yao Ji, being an evil person, gets MZX into a situation where the emperor wants to kill her (of course!).

That “trial” wedding scene made me so MAD! These people had the audacity to watch MZX have a wedding (& help her prepare for it) knowing that tomorrow she is going to an ambush. Fast forward to when she finds out that Emperor was the one that signed off on the death of her family. So, now she gets to remember a “happy” memory has “wow these people probably thought I was a joke. While I was giggling about the wedding, they were planning to kill me”.

I am also lost in how Prince Bo was planning on helping MZX. If Ji Chong didn’t tell the Ma Clan troops that it was the Emperor/Prince Bo who were the murderers – the Ma Clan were going to a battle that would have accumulated into many deaths, weakening them. Prince Bo would then swoop in to finish them off. So, during what stage was he going to help her? Before or after the annihilation of the Ma troops?

I can understand that - I tend to feel that when dramas do initiate historical elements, it tends to just be the bare minimum. Better off just reading up on the history, like the links you posted.

Makes sense, I was wondering why XZ Studio released nothing when they hit 7M. They wanted the Wolf to be the priority. I swear XZ is a meme king - his facial expressions are priceless lol. He says "don't give him hints" but then keeps looking around for hints ROFL!

Are there many Chinese dramas that actually do complete adaptations of people from history? I agree though - shows that depict history is quite entertaining. One of my favorite shows that I watched this year was Chernobyl.
