XCS & Xiaomei are really so cute. The one thing I love the most about their relationship is that they are open with each other and are willing to converse with one another. If one is deciding on something they will tell the other person and if someone is feeling not sure about their future they also share that. They help one another. I feel when XCS was with HHL it was mostly about her & never really about XCS. It's him running around and trying to help HHL - like what can I do to make her life better. But HHL never really did the same. The one time XCS wanted to do something for himself she called him selfish and said he was interfering with YGH. If she really thought he was wrong - she could explain it in a better way but instead she telling him to use a shortcut because she is too embarassed to tell people her bf is just a common soldier. It's always about her but never about XCS. And of course XCS went around and resolved the issue for her so she could feel better.

Xiaomei is different - when XCS needed help she stayed by his side even when he was pushing her away. Because sometimes some people just need someone so they feel like there is some hope. Their relationship is healthy and truly shows that they both care for one another.

OMG thank you for organizing the time lines for us. I just knew the drama started in like 1975 and the dinner time was 1981 since he says it lol. I think he said so people would actually know about the time jumps. But yea we definitey getting multiple time jumps since they look a lot older in some of the scenes in the trailer.

I think that is all XCS ever wanted - he only wanted someone to stay by his side during the times he was down and thought he could no longer walk. I think that is why it hurt him so deep when HHL just abandoned him as well & was so happy to see Xiaomei on the train - u could see hope return back into his eyes. When before he was in despair after the breakup with HHL.

I think even though he kept pushing Xiaomei away - deep down he wanted her to continue supporting him or at least just show up but didn't want ot say it because he didn't want to drag her down. That is why Xiaomei is amazing because he was able to provide hope to XCS.

I think she really doesn't think great of her brother or at least understands he has a lot of shortcomings. Even when news came out that YGH was the combat hero - she was the only one that didn't believe it and thought it was XCS. I think she also believes he is a sucker & that he is letting HHL just use him. Gives her money & w.e. else she needs but gets nothing in return.

While I feel for XCS she thinks he is atleast honorable - and thinks TXM would like someone like XCS's character rather than her brother who tends to take shortcuts and isn't very honorable.

Ahhh, well I saw the previews and honestly I can understand why she wouldnt want him to hire XCS. Nothing against XCS but she probably doesn't want him to get in trouble because if XCS does anything - everyone will look at CHJ because he hired him. Or because he just got better and from what people said the inspection officers have to run. Many reasons - I just dont htink its because she dislikes XCS though. Because in the later episodes u can see how CHJ gets jealous of XCS and tells YF like why dont u be with XCS since he is so great. Clearly she was praising XCS and CHJ didn't like it.

I doubt she liked XCS though - I think she loves studying. I don't think she has fallen for anyone yet.

I think she understands his shortcomings and is a little too direct and says them. Which clearly can hurt feelings.

LOL, I am hoping she says some stuff. She already told HHL what she thought of her. I can't imagine her just being quiet about it lol. But lets see

OMG YES! When I heard her say "u broke up with me via letter" - I rolled my eyes so hard my head hurt. I was like huh? Did we witness 2 different things? She guilt tripped the man into breaking up with her and now she wants to act like she was done wrong lol? I am sorry but what a piece of work. She was crying saying how she couldn't be with a man who is disabled but now that he walking fine she wants to erase all that. -_-

Everyone else is moving forward while HHL is stuck in 1970. Free XCS from her!! Let YGH deal with her - if he even can.

It was cute the way they looked at each other though. I think he blurted that confession out and didn't mean to say it at that moment or like that lol. That is why he sort of looked the way he did after saying it. I think he was shocked as well that it came out

She is very aware of people's personalities and what they might be thinking. I just find it funny that she thinks so little of her brother. I am just wondering what she is going to say about HHL & YGH getting married lol. Her face will be interesting

She actually said that TXM would only love someone like XCS who is an idealist and willing to sacrifice himself. So, in a way she does praise XCS in that XIaomei would love a hero like him. While saying her brother is weak and stuff.

I think YF has warmed up to XCS to be honest - like the fact she believed he would be the one to get the coordinates over her brother shows that she thinks he is a hero and is willing to sacrifice for his country. Maybe before she had her moments but I think it has been a while since she thought badly of XCS.

Ye Fang telling XCS that her OWN brother doesn't deserve Xiaomei but XCS does lol.

It's funny because everyone knows what kind of person she is. The guy that was bullying XCS in episode 24 - he was also saying that is who HHL is. She is just the type of person who just isn't willing to help with someone else's burdens. YGH doesn't need any kind of help so he won't notice it but when he gets low he will look around and find out that HHL is no where to be seen. And I feel that just isn't what a relationship is and I know people are saying she came from a tough background but a lot of people did. Qian Amao the soldier who died. His life was 10x harder than HHL and he still did his best to support people. I think having a tough background should not forgive her bad behavior of not wanting to help anyone but herself. And worse she uses people and once she got what she wanted she throws them aside. Even XCS's sister - similar situations but she isn't like HHL either. She supported her brother & father who were disabled.

I wonder if they even did date during the army like she claimed. Probably just said that & that was why YGH was shocked lol. He probably was like huh? We were dating? When did this happen? lol.

He has a lot to make up for. AND HHL better give that pen back to XCS. That pen belongs to Xiaomei!!!!

I think HHL never let it develop into anything. She kept doing things that just would make XCS even question if she wanted to be with her. I don't fault her for taking money from YGH because that is her mother's life. But the fact she always goes to YGH when she has some issue related to financial or work It's like she has 2 bf's - XCS for love and having a good time with. But YGH for the financial stability. She just had them both hooked and never gave anyone a definite answer. If she didn't want to be with YGH - she needed to say it and let him try to move on. But when she constantly kept going to him - it gave him hope that she might still become his.

Looking at the previews now I wonder if she dated YGH just for his money. It seems like she still likes XCS. Or at least wants him to be jealous of her relationship with YGH. Even YGH was like "WHAT" when she said they were dating for years and were going to get married. Like she hasn't changed - she still thinks every man will continue to pine for her and wait for her.

I think XCS realized from Xiaomeis action is what a person in love would do for someone & when he compared it to what HHL did for him - realized that she was never the one for her. HHL didn't even try to stay by his side when he was literally at the lowest point in his life - instead also abandoned him. Actually guilt tripped him into breaking up with her just so she could feel better that she wasn't the one who broke up. But in reality we know she did - she didn't want to wait for him and gave XCS no other choice but to initiate the break up.

Xiaomei was always the one who stood by XCS no matter what. She put her own dream on hold just so she could help XCS and make sure he was never alone. I feel just the presence of Xiaomei made him have more hope - and that is all he needed at that time. Someone to stay by his side & just give him hope that he can still move forward. HHL deprived that from him while Xiaomei kept holding onto his hand and never letting go even when he tried to shake her off.

Honestly Xiaomei & XCS are just the cutest. Even the way they look at each other - u can tell how much they care for each other and how they will never let the other one go. The acting is also just really impressive.

Yea he said it really well in the letter. I think he was just attracted to her - I don't even know if it was love to the point one can't live without the other person. I feel he was able to move past her really quickly. Yes, her leaving her when he was at the lowest point in his life probably shook him awake into realizing she didn't care for him and questioned if he should even love her but in a matter of months he started having feelings for Xiaomei. I feel there was no true love between HHL & XCS - just attraction.

Anyone see the previews for 27 & 28. HHL & YGH are back - *eye roll*. But of course HHL starts off by telling everyone how she & YGH have been together for years and they plan to get married. Why do I feel like she is only saying that to get XCS jealous? She did the same thing in the beginning as well. Where she woud ask YGH to go to the ice rink but only to make XCS jealous. I wonder if she regret leaving XCS now that he can walk again -_-? TOO late though! He has Xiaomei and they are the cutest together.

I also agree with people here. I think what XCS & HHL had was nothing more than puppy love. They had nothing in common - even when they were together he would repeat a lot of things where she would say "u told me this already". It feels like they were attracted to one another but weren't compatible. While I think Xiaomei & XCS are compatible and have similar ideas.
