Yea if I am not mistake GL was 19 when Xiaofei was born so he should be 37 right now - both of them. So, its a long time for sure but I mean they could still get married and most likely will in the last episode lol. But I do feel like they kind of really extending this romance between them out a little too much - they should have just gotten married because it just feels ridiculous at this point.

He might be immature but the fact he talked about him like that - was very disrespectful and shows his character. This man has raised u when he didn't have to and ur acting like GL is ur "father" and bestie. Just feels ridiculous to me. True parents do sacrifice for their children but thats not really his kid - he just did it out of duty and I know people say they dont need praise or a pat on the back but most people actually do. They want to know that all the things they gave up meant something. Exactly why we have mothers day or fathers day - to show our parents that yes we love u and we are thankful for all u do. And for this kid to say that - it just means he didn't see it like that and just thinks GYY is in the way. That he loves his mother and thats why he is there - when that is not the case at all.

Yea, I don't really understand what is going on sometimes. It feels like the writers have an extreme bias to just make GL look like a cool hero and everyonee else is beneath him. They can't wait to add some rainbow farts about GL - its just ridiculous at this point to be honest.

Xiao Zhan did a great job at portraying an older version of GYY - it really looked like he was aging while others not so much. But I know he did do his best so he could portray that about himself.

Yea episode 40 is most likely going to be the wedding scene since I don't think there is other content to really touch on.

I would have preferred the original rule and had GYY lose than. Would have made more sense for the script rather than making GL look like an impressive Rambo/Robocop type that is able to fight off an entire army all by himself and just do everything himself. Just feels, again, that they are trying to make GL look too impressive while making GYY seem like a nobody whose efforts mean nothing. And the fact that the 48 hours time limit did not accomplish that task they decided to increase the time so they could make GL's victory even better. Just dumb to me in general - bad writing or I guess better way to say it is that its BIAS writing since their main task isn't to write a cohesive storyline but to make a character look cool.

She didn't agree with him being a soldier when she was like 16 or 17 - she was quite young while A Xiu is more mature. However, u could see that when they met the 2nd tiem around she accepted that he was a soldier and never once told him to quit. She still loved him - she just dind't want him to leave her.

And yea he might have never loved her at that time but it could becoem love like they are trying to show with A Xiu and GYY now. He never loved her either but since he made a committment he started caring for her. I feel they could have written it that way for Hu Yang - where she helps him with his grief and he slowly falls in love with her. Liek they do in other c-dramas. A lot of people have a 1 sided love but eventually the other side comes in term to falling in lvoe with that person.

After watching episode 39 I am more inclined to not like the whoel A Xiu & GYY relationship. After knowing the son finds GL more likeable than GYY - I felt his sacrifice was for naught. I am not a fan. GYY deserved better for all that sacrifice. But I can understand u being team YiyeXAxiu I just can't find mindself joining ur team though lol. I am sticking with wishing he helped her without marrying her lol.

Its so dumb in my opinion. They could have kept with him being disabled because being a tactician he never needed to even fight. But the constant need to make GL look like the amazing fighter that he is prevented them from using logic and threw consistency out the window -_-

OH, the kid that GYY has raised for 18 years - yea so ingrateful. The way he talks to GL about GYY was disrespectful to say the least. GYY sacrificed so much to take care of him and his mother when they had no one and when his mother was going through the worse time in her life. The only person that helped her was GYY when he didn't have to. When he had his own form of happiness and loved someone else. He sacrificed EVERYTHING just to help A Xiu and her son but what did he get in return? A kid that respects GL more than the man who raised him and gave him a place. Allowed his mother to get an education so that she could take care of herself and him better. But nope can't see that. Just loves GL because well he GL -_-.

More of a reason why I am Team Hu Yang and wished he never married A Xiu. He sacrificed for what? Gave up his happiness just so this kid can say "Oh I thought he was faking it so he could get my mom's love". Just so he could have his son like GL more than GYY. Like please bro. The only reason he is even with ur mom was because of his guilt & grief. I hate that their need to make GL look perfect/amazing they turned GYY's entire sacrifice for all those years into nothing - just useless to the people he helped.

Agreed on the whole JNZ's obsession with marriage is creepy. The girl needed to chill and especially when she came all dressed up ready to marry a man that wasn't even awake - I was like would this be considered legal? Doesn't someone need consent just to marry someone lol. And her solution to everything was marriage was just ridiculous lol. GYY is like we need to find someone else while she is like don't worry I got this - I am going to file our marriage -_-. GIRLLLL? She really thinks all GL needs is a marriage and his spine will just magically fix itself - like she the cure to all his problems lol.

It really felt like GL & JNZ thought this drill was real life or something. He started withholding information from the observation room and made people hostages. And the way he talked to those in command was just ridiculous - dude ur in a drill but those people are still in command. Is he even allowed to talk to them like that? I felt that should have gotten him punished on the spot - he got so weird to the point he was like I am going to put bombs on u so if Red team does try to save u I will bllow u guys up. Like, this dude made them into hostages (they weren't from the beginning) and now he wants to use them against the Red team? Isn't that just cheating? he is making his own rules at this point.

And JNZ getting all upset about GYY planting poison in their food - BRO? it's make believe and her reply was good thing I never let our relationship go further. Clearly someone forgot who broke up with who as well lol. But felt like the Blue Team went a bit too hard on a drill that wasn't real life. While GYY kept reminding his Red Team taht its just a drill so they actually cared when Blue team were getting injured and trying to help them. It felt entirely ridiculous - GL should have told his team that this was a drill and to not risk ur lives for it. Ur not going to get a merit for dying in a drill for ur honor - they do know that right?

GL just felt like Robocop or ur example is good too of being Rambo lol. Never did he felt like he had a plan of any kind ot go against GYY - at least write it in a way that it felt like GL knew or had a plan. It jsut felt like he was making things up as he went along.

Yea, idk what they were doing lol. And the limping made me laugh at the end. So for 4 or 5 days he never had a limp when he was running around the island and kicking butt and stuff. But than once it was all over he realized he has a disability? Okay sure lets go with that one lol. Logic was already thrown out the window a long time ago lol

Pretty much but idk why they even continued on with the fight and had that ridiculous 1 on 1 fight. It really seems like they were going to make GYY win but than they decided to take a knife to the scrip and started editing like crazy (and not in a good way) just to make it seem incomprehensible so people wouldn't know who won or they were trying to go for a weird draw? Maybe?

It's a hard question to answer. According to the observation room - GYY did win because they said "Red Team retreat and Blue Team lay down ur arms" because the Blue Team was getting their butts kicked and I think the observation room wanted it to end since it just felt like it was getting to a point where the Bleu Team couldn't even stand.

But for some reason the drill kept going and GL & GYY started fighting - and GL some how was beating him. But that has nothign to do with the drill to be honest - just felt like GL was getting beat and to make it feel like a draw they decided to throw in a 1-on-1 fight out of no where. Very strange overall to be honest

Agreed, the whole GL being smart would have made more sense if they started him off like that. I understand some people who don't have the opportunities won't be able to show their smarts but the amount of intellect that they are giving GL it makes it seem like he is supposed to be smart from the get go. But his actions in the first few episodes contradict that entirely - he made foolish mistakes and relied on GYY to make most of the decision making whil he was just the work force making sure his plan went through.

GL definitely is supposed to be the heroic hero but than that means he should have been a soldier and never a tactician - that part makes no sense and they should have never went that route at all.

I feel the poor writing and making GL this absolute perfect person just made me want to hate his character. What is this where he is perfect in everything he does and everyone absolutely loves him -_-? But people don't like GYY because he is smart? But in that respect wouldn't almost no one like GL because he is smart and strong? Just weird logic

Episode 39 was freaking ridiculous. A team with less than 50 people on one 1 side somehow was still able to fight - and it seemed like it ended in a draw? But before the huge fight between GYY & GL the observation room had already made the announcement that Red Team leaves the battlefield while Blue Team lays down arms -_-. All because they felt sympathy or because they felt the guy who was injured but still trying was showing a form of heroism? Ummm huh? The Red team would have easily beat him up and taken the flag from him if they didn't care about him hurting his leg (Remember victory goes to the GYY's team when they get the flag). They were trying to help him so he wouldn't get injured further. Like, sorry but this drill should have been over a long time ago but because of some weird reason the observation room let it keep going even after GYY's team gave the Red team a huge butt whopping. I am all for a underdog coming from behind but it has to make sense - and in this case it was a bunch of nonsense how GL's team was even still standing.

Don't even get me started on the GL vs. GYY fight - let me get this right a man who is disabeld and just got off a huge surgery was able to beat up a well trained soldier that he was never able to beat before? Yea . . . . totally makes sense. And oh right he is also starving and thirsty from days of no food or water. But yup he can beat someone up like Robocop would. I feel they really threw out any kind of common sense in this drama all too make GL seem like this amazing soldier that everyone would love. I mean what was with the guy that became traitor at the end for GYY's side - like oh I fought GL and we became besties so I am going to become a traitor now -_-. So much inconsistency all too make 1 soldier look good. I wonder how the story would be if they didn't change it though

Oh and yes totally agree - GYY was completely handsome 😍😍😍😍 lol. My bias kicking in whenever someone says GYY looks good lol 🤣🤣🤣

I mean I guess we just differ because in my point of view a commander should never leave his post. What would happen if he falls in battle? Who will take his place? The fight he had with that soldier 1-on-1 he could have easily lost (and honestly should haev since he is disabled but plot hole so its w.e. I guess). Now he lost - wouldn't that make his entire time loose? This is a drama but if in real life someone did that - they would have lost the war in a minute wihtout a 2nd thought. I feel they just want to show him look cool while fighting these battles when they should have just had him maneuver people like GYY was doing. The actions of GL does not fit with someone who is playing chess in my opinion rather someone being played with. But just my opinion.

Yea its the halo effect again u know. GL has that main character halo so it has to seem like he is perfect and that he can do everything himself without anyone's help. But it doesn't make sense logically at all. They are in a military not in an anime. It is supposed to illustrate real life events not a fairytale. And at this point it just feels like a fairytale - I mean isn't this man also disabled? How is he able to run around and fight people?

EXACTLY. There is a reason why the tactician never joins a battle because if he perishes than who will take command. There would be no leader to rally the soldiers together and victory would be no more. It is noble of him to want to be a soldier but in a logical standpoint if ur the tactician ur not doing any justice to ur fellow comrades by being involved in the action. It's like playing a game of chess - GL's job is to move the pieces in the right manner to achieve victory but if he is removed than there is no one to move them anymore. Hence, the other side wins. I understand the writers want to show GL being all cool and stuff but his job isn't to be cool and throw himself in danger and act like Robocop - his job is to give orders.

Lol, a Gundam makes sense too since they can fly. And GL now can fly as well. But Gundams are cool I cant say the same about GL 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am preparing myself before I watch episode 39. In 38 it was quite obvious who was winning and who wasn't. GYY was clearly kicking GL's butt - there is no way GL's team can win when they have like 50 people left and they are starving and have no water anymore. And the fact GL never stays in the observation room when he is the commander makes it so strange to me - is he a commander or is he just a soldier taking orders? It really feels like he RoboCop/Terminator just going off and fighting the other side all by himself and being victorious (somehow) everytime. Did thye also forget that he is supposedly "disabled" so how is he even able to fight at this point in time? I think the writers forgot that this is supposed to be a "military" drama and not an ANIME. I mean in animes its definitely super cool seeing the main character kick butt with just himself against 100 guys. But he also has superpowers so it makes sense lol. However, this is supposed to showcase military strategy (like a game of chess) - they both are supposed to move their pieces in a manner which will achieve victory for themselves but instead it feelsl like GYY is moving while GL is being moved.

But, I am ready to see some magical spell being placed on the next episode and seeing GL somehow beat GYY since we know the main character can't lose.

U find out at episode 40 that this entire time GL was just a alien robot that was able to hypnotize everyone and use his super strength to fight entire armies without the help of anyone.

Yea, the drama does show clear signs of immense editing where they took a lot of GYY scenes out just to cater to another character. But, what can we do? We can just watch the drama and enjoy the parts we like and hope that this doesn't happen in the next projects that Xiao Zhan has. I think it won't either since there are new rules in place to prevent it from happening. But does suck because GYY's story is really interesting and I do at times wished they gave us more about his story as a whole and his relationship development.

Don't feel too overwhelmed about the ratings aspect - just do what pleases u without feeling badly about it.
