You are absolutely right. It is the SML that tends to be the annoying pestering guy that constantly wants to get the attention of the girl lol. But, that is probably why GYY was originally the ML lol - iQiyi just made the other ML because of "reasons" but it is known knowledge that at the start of filming it was supposed to be XZ's character and not the other guy. Hence, why when u see posts by iQiyi they will put the other guys name first and than XZ and in parenthesis state its in alphabetical order. They are trying to bypass what they did with a alphabetical technicality lol.

I mean it is what it is. I am enjoying the drama regardless lol. But if anyone watches it on the tv station - there are a lot of scenes that u won't see on iQiyi that is GYY centered showing that they did cut a lot of his scenes out.

Yea to be honest it is going to be weird when they end up together but I feel if he played fair it would have never happened. But he of course is going to be persistent about following her and making her fall for him even though she has rejectd him twice. I just don't find it plausible for someone to fall for someone just beacuse they stalk them lol. If it was that easy I would try the same lol. But it feels like they doing GYY's character very dirty so far

But I actually do agree with everything you wrote. I find it unfair that they treat Gu Yiye's achievements like they are nothing and that it is just expected. Just because he comes from a good family background it does not determine the person. We know that not every famous scientist/actor/President/etc. will have kids that become the same. They might not even become working adults - might just live off of trust funds or something like that. So, to undermine his achievements like its nothing is unfair to all the hardwork he puts in and kind of make people from that background believe why even bother to try when others are just going to say we are riding the coattails of our family to get where we are. Like no amount of work will ever get people to believe that they got there on their own merit because they already predetermined the kind of person you are just from who your family is.

And we know Gu Yiye tries harder than everyone - he reads books and uses nerdy ways to become better lol. But people jsut throw it under the rug because that is what they think he should be like even though it is not easy to do.

Well, idk if u watched the episode yet but she does kind of say that in the new episodes that were released. It just he sort of dense so I have a feeling he is goign to continue to pursue her even though she has blatantly stated that he is not the one for her. Muscle heads man - they just don't know how to listen.

And hahahah yea Gu Yiye is a damn nerd but he is likeable even when he is giving those random lectures about whatever he is talking about lol. When he started talking about rods & cones to see during the night. . . . . I was like mhmmmm whatever u say, I will just take your word on that one lol.

Agreed, that scene really was just amazing. Usually some actors would just fall in shout in anger but I know that when some people get angry they actually laugh to sort of diffuse their anger. I know sometimes when I get angry I tend to scoff or just smile to myself. And I feel that is what Xiao Zhan used in this situation - he didn't just play the basic "oh I am angry let me yell" but he added like a psychological element to it. Which is crazy to me and that is why that scene really blew me away. Because I am thinking it over and I am like yea that is what some people actually do when they get angry during stressful situations - they tend to laugh at it.

OMG, yes girl. He really is still at it. It's so infuriating. I thought that after he got rejected that he would ease up and not get in the middle as much - but nope if anything I feel he has gotten worse. Like he knows they like each other and yet he is always trying to get in between. I couldn't be Gu Yiye because I would be throwing punches if he kept doing that to me. And the girl is sooo obvious in who she likes and she was so sad about not seeing Gu Yiye but of course this guy just didn't care.

Me too. I am kind of glad that I know he doesn't end up together so I can be prepared for the disappointment to be honest. But it does upset me seeing how Gao is getting in between them. I feel if it wasn't for him than they would have ended up together. I mean the girl clearly loves him - the fact she dreamed about him giving her flowers was cute.

But of course we have 1 guy that just can't get the hint and let them be together.

Yea, I also thought he was a bit over the top and sort of acted like a clown in the beginning. But than started to slowly like him. But the fact that he keeps being a cock block is very annoying.

I feel the girl has now told him 2 times that she does not like him - and I feel he is not going to get the message. He could have easily given the bike to Gu Yiye because he KNEW the girl wanted to see him on her birthday. But NOPE he decides to see her after being rejected by her already. I find that so unfair - like excuse me sir but this relationship does not include u anymore. He practically is forcing himself and doing his best to make sure Gu Yiye is not included. He could have easily said don't worry I will go and get Gu Yiye but he didn't because he doesn't really care about who she likes he just wants the girl no matter what tactics he has to use to get her.

And ITS SO OBVIOUS that they both like each other - and Gao Liang knows as well.

So, in 1 & 2 what happens is that the new recruits (Gu Yiye and Gao Liang's group of new trainees) got mixed up in a battle simulation of sorts. It's pretty much practice for when real war happens. There are 2 sides (I think its the 720 regiment & I forgot the other one's name). They are competing with each other to see who is better and who has the better strategy. So, I wouldn't say either of them are enemies they just are from different military groups of the same army.

Think of it like playing war - hence why no one gets shot or hurt & if they tie u up they tell them to act according to the rules and surrender. Because in the end it is just them "playing" and trying to win the game.

The entire sequence in episode 9, where you see Gu Yiye finally see the end goal and he starts running towards the truck. When he fell down and looked up in despair that he was so close to ending the suffering of running with all that weight just to have it slip away - the man just starts laughing hysterically. That entire scene was just remarkably done by Xiao Zhan. The acting was just absolutely perfection.

I dislike Gao Liang being such a cock block. The fact that he keeps getting in between Gu Yiye and Nan Zheng is annoying. He knows that she doesn't like him - she has told him straight that she didn't. And he knows Gu Yiye likes her - its quite obvioius.

So, idk why he keeps trying to get in between them especially if he considers him as a "brother". If a friend of mine did that to me - we would no longer be friends anymore. Like u shot ur shot - and the feelings were not recriprocated. Now let them be together especially if they like one another. To get in between them and try to sabotage them is just unfair and honestly just a messed up thing to do.

YUP. It is annoying they don't even try to promote his dramas though so more people can know about it. But it is remarkable how much pull he has even with no promotion what so ever. And just dropping it 3 - 4 hours prior. Xiao Zhan's power indeed

It depends if ur into military type dramas/movies. It does have some romance but it does seem to be mostly about brotherhood in the army and just training in general. The acting is really good and I love Xiao Zhan's character Gu Yiye.

You could try the first 6ish episodes and see if u like it but if ur not into military related things than it might not be for you. I hope that helped
