Maybe it reminds them of Heroes or X-men? It does have that vibe. I think it's valid for people to say that, and…
Well I could understand that it reminds them of those shows, it's still a hero genre but imo, the storyline reminds me of spy dramas.
If it was Again or Timing adapted as dramas, I could understand it better.

Western shows disappointed me too much, I can't watch them anymore 😬.

Honestly I dropped western shows for a long time, only watching a few of them from time to time but I never managed to get as hooked as kdramas. So Idk what people refer to when they mention it looks like western superhero shows.

The only thing I remember from those kind of shows is about a typical guy whining thinking he's got the world on his shoulders to save, with a hot girl who doesn't notice him and mocks him until he does something cool, and he doesn't notice his female friend who's got a crush on him, and he's got a male friend uglier than him as a sidekick who jokes all the time.

This show reminds me more of typical spy kdrama but with superpowers, there's the typical cliché of the Korean school bullies, the struggle against villains who have too much power like Director Min, there's the typical conflict with others countries's spies found in other dramas.
What changes about this show is that it focuses both on the parents's story and the kids's life, making them intertwined. They show intense family love, the will to sacrifice oneself to save their family. They show students actually studying bruh.

That changes from those characters in western shows that end up cheating on each others after saying they love each other, drink alcohol, take drugs and go to party all the time. You never see them studying at all.

Honestly if I had to compare this drama with something else, it would be SpyxFamily.

It's a happy ending.
From what I gather there's no English translation of Bridge yet. I read the spoilers on namuwiki, I didn't read it, well only a few chapters that were free but it's in Korean.
here's the link for that namuwiki about Bridge

here's a link for Kim Doo Sik namuwiki :

It's a happy ending.
There are things that the writer will change in the ending that the fans wanted but nevertheless his webtoon had a happy ending and I probably guess what it is about.

The bully student was not in the webtoon and the camera girl had a minor role so I can't say anything about them.

In the webtoon, the main characters all live in the end and the parents are total badasses, it's just that BongSeok and his mum will runaway, and HeeSoo will see on TV someone wearing a yellow cape saving people from a fire in a building, she'll know it's him.

The next episode will probably show the backstory of the north Korean agents and the torture they went through. One of them, the big guy who was beating Jang Juwon will end up working for him in his chicken restaurant. There will also be a flashback about Kim Doo Sik with director Min asking him to go on a last mission but it's a trap and he was held prisoner. (spoilers: in Namuwiki it's said that he escapes in Bridge webtoon and goes full John Wick on the NIS lol)

Maybe the writer will probably changes things so that Kim Doo Sik goes back to his family earlier and that Bong Seok remains with Hee Soo at the end. I guess that's what the fans wanted.

Is Kim Do Hoon bad guy in this? I just started it and it feels again like stupid love triangle incoming O.o
Nope he's a good guy and he's got a crush on Hee Soo but that ship has sunk even before it floated. Bong Seok and Hee Soo are too lovey dovey for this. It's more action oriented and the parents are also main characters. This drama shows the best ships with the parents's story and the fluff from my BongHee OTP.

I was looking at Jo In Sung's bio, he served in the air force lol. How ironic that now he's playing a character who can fly. 🤣
Lee Jung Ha, now knows what to do. Follow the steps of his father Doo Sik 😁👍

The risk is getting harassed by stalkers and have no private life because everyone would want to film them. Then…
They could be hunted by more government s which would want to have them. And the stalkers could have superpowers too. I don't know why but it gives me vibes of My Hero Academia lol

Honestly I think it's quite obvious that the NIS knows that there are North Korean spies around. The reason as to why they didn't make a move is quite simple:

-they want to test the kids in a life danger situation just like they did with Hee Soo's appa

-they want to uproot all the NK spies by letting them make the first move and test out what kind of abilities they have. The director is conveniently not in the school right now but the old school security guard is there to keep watch of the situation.

lmao imagine not caring about such a good story and only an actor
One rule I learned after watching so many dramas, never watch them because of the actor but watch them because of the story.

Regardless of him leaving the school without being tested, he would still be kept under watch by the NIS after graduating. He's Kim Doo Sik and Lee Mi Hyun's son after all.

Bong Seok kept his powers hidden all the time, and the teacher couldn't test him at all unless he wanted to alert his scary mom. Hence why he couldn't write anything about him.

Which scene is that? I haven't read the webtoon.
Around 22:55 of episode 16, when teacher Choi mentions the name YoungTak who wants to transfer in another school. He's the only special student whose face wasn't shown at all during the episode. He can stop time.

Lol the crossover hint with Timing in episode 16. I wonder if it's not a hint for a sequel.
Lee Mi Hyun is on angry mom mode now, some people are gonna get their ass kicked XD.
