Well I understand but they could at least show Lee Yeon 1938 in one scene and Lee Yeon modern times in another, without them being together at the same time. One to fight the zombies, that Ryu guy with his sidekick and Satori, and another to fight the Yuki Gotei.

I'm pretty sure that would be possible. But anyway my hopes aren't high.
The next episodes will probably show Moo Young redemption's arc, him saving everyone with his medical powers and sacrificing himself against the big villain aka Ryuhei the dragon. Then season 3 will focus on Lee Yeon trying to save Moo Young from his stupidity in the ancient times.

Wasn't that from the earlier episodes when he fought against future Lee Yeon? Otherwise my hope would be too high.

I hope so. The best thing that would happen would be if that Tulipa lady or her butler husbando went to see Lee Yeon from the past, slap him a few times so that he leaves his druggie state and joins the fight.

That would be awesome to see 2 Lee Yeon fight alongside each others, but instead the writers decided to nerf my boy so damn bad against those demon fodders.

They better show a good fight for the next episodes.

Lee Yeon where are your thunder powers honestly? There's always big music to hype him but nothing follows him showing his powers. Like come on.
Finally some tension, I thought I would be disappointed but the tension gets higher now, that's entertaining. Bring the fight.

I don't think I'm in the mood to watch it right now. I'll wait a bit because honestly I expected the beginning of episode 9 to be better, that editing was done so badly. I dropped it half the way. Gonna watch it later on.

Honestly I've started watching episode 9 but I think I'm gonna suspend my watch for a moment or skip a lot.
Why doesn't the beginning of that episode follow the ending of episode 8?
Why does it feel that they cut lots of scenes and put them one after the other without any kind of logic?
This reminds me so much of the movie Fantastic Beasts 2. Lots of scenes that are quite short then you change for another scene with different characters.
I don't know who did the editing for that episode but don't let them work again on that. That's not professionnal at all. This is quite obvious that those short scenes were cut from bigger scenes and then put together in a non logical way with the previous episodes.
You cannot enjoy completely when it's done this way.

Honestly, the only thing I can say is we'll need to wait and see. I enjoy the second season, but Idk how it will end.

Kdramas have a tendency to start strong then make a horrible ending. Just like Reborn Rich drama, that was the worst case of strong beginning and horrible ending I've ever seen.

I don't even know if they are truly sure about making a third season. Only the future will tell us unfortunately.

I have to admit that when you watch Lee Yeon's resume, he ain't the best at taking care of problems or even remembering something important about someone.

He completely forgot for centuries about his friend Moo Young becoming a statue, never checked how he was doing. He never checked on how Hong Joo was doing after she lost all her family. He never checked on his brother and didn't even know he was a bandit in the 30's.

Imoogi always had the upper hand on him because he never bothered checking on what that snake was doing on his brother and his lover.

Honestly Lee Yeon is just a never bother dude who never truly cares about people until the last second. Even in this season, he never bothered checking on Shin Ju, or tried to find him. It was Shin Ju who found him.
Hell if he wanted to make a big change to help everyone, he should have went to see his past self and told him everything that happened in the future, whoop his past self's ass so that he will take care of everyone when he leaves for the future, instead of letting him remain an opium drug addict.
That's the biggest flaw in his character, he's an idiot. That's just the truth. But well I still enjoy his character.

We'll see if the next episodes will show this. Either they will do or it will become an unfortunate plothole. That's the thing when you make a sequel, when you are inattentive in your writing, you can forget important facts that you wrote before.

That's a mistake that should have been taken care of honestly from the writers.

Honestly I completely forgot about this. The thing is Lee Yeon wasn't supposed to stay in the past for long, his purpose was to catch his old friend who decided to be an emo thief/brocon.

Then from the time he went back to the past, he had to save his bro from death, catch his emo friend with his weird carnival mask, run away from Hong Joo's advance, fight against Japanese Yokais during the time period of Korea being a Japanese colony with all that comes with on the edge of WW2, deal with his own brother's switching moods, fight ghosts and zombie kids, got blinded, etc. Honestly I wonder how he manages to do all of it.

So no wonder if he forgets about something.

I think that's the risk of watching a drama with brotherhood. Brotherhood tends to be better than romance most of the time, mainly because it shows family bonds and it's quite heartwarming. Romance can either be well written or a total disaster.

I have to agree that in first season, romance wasn't really my most favorite moment as well and that brotherhood shown there was much better. In this second season, I like that Lee Rang has a love interest, because even when Lee Yeon is supposed to mend his bonds with his brother, he still has to mend his bonds with his lost friends, so he's quite busy and leaves out his brother a bit because of it. The guy can't keep any kind of relationship for real >.>"
Lee Rang needs someone by his side who will only focus on him. This mermaid has got great powers, she's a perfect bodyguard wife imho ^^.

The first thing you need to do is ask yourself why do you hate it? Think deeply about it and tell yourself the truth.
There's no shame on hating or liking something but you need reasons as to why.

I ship it because it's so freaking romantic. A romance happening in the 30's when the world was a mess, between 2 half-demons whom everyone reject and feel like they don't really belong anywhere, finding solace in each other's arms, with the girl being active and protective in the relationship and bringing joy with her music and her smile to a brooding man who suffered a lot.
How can I not love it? Even more when the characters wear beautiful clothing from the time period with amazing ost.
And the actors both play very well, through their facial expressions, their body language, the attractivness towards each other but also the reserve that they have (mainly Lee Rang), because they don't want to hurt the other.
And the tragedy thinking that one will die to protect the other is even more romantic. <3

In season 1, the lack of chemistry between the FL and ML was mainly due to the plot but also the acting of the actress. She was too stiff in romantic scenes, no body language at all that would show her attractiveness towards Lee Yeon. Lee Dong Wook had to do all the work seriously. He was clearly the leading actor there.

I am so hyped from episode 8!
But those shinigami fatasses better keep their hands off my mermaid unless they wanna taste my Bankai ! Or else I'm gonna call Ichigo to whoop their ass and make them return to Soul Society.

One thing that I'm actually thinking also: Kato mentioned they wanna target the spirit of Korea itself. And I'm wondering about something: isn't Korea represented as a tiger? And who else is a tiger ? Moo Young and his brother.

I'm guessing Moo Young is gonna play a big role in the later episodes.
