Yes many people don't like to watch those kinds of relationships, which is why I always caveat that it is not for everyone. I love dark themes and anti-heroes and don't mind good tragedies either so my viewing taste doesn't appeal to everyone.

Khatun is a pretty important character and it is just not IMHO well portrayed. Her parts are the only parts in this drama that make me roll my eyes and itch to FF.

Haha - just calling it as I see it. I liked L&R too but I did not like any of the couples. I just love good Xianxia stories and good villains are important to me.

She does have great taste - see the skeptical, slightly disdainful sidelong glance she gave the bratty crown prince?

Both dramas have some flaws. I think there was much better chemistry between her and the ML in the Wolf but there are dark themes in the drama that some people really don't like. Song of Glory is one of those dramas that starts out very strong and then sags in the end. But they are both good dramas overall. You can't go that wrong with either.

Yes I have seen a lot of that behaviour it is really atrocious. But I do wish more people who drop dramas for constructive reasons drop short reviews on why they did it. C-dramas are so long and sometimes I keep going thinking it gets better and then end up wasting so much time on something not good.

Li Qin is great - unfortunately her character in JOL doesn't get that much screen time. I really enjoyed the Wolf but it is a dark fantasy, not for everyone. Her character there is not complex but she acted well in it.. She gets to play a much more badass character in Song of Glory.

I don't know why but they always make me think of The Bodyguard.

I agree that it is not right to just trash a drama because of the actress or the genre (i.e, BL). And it is especially bad to rate something after watching 1 episode. However, I frequently rate dramas I dropped when I have watched enough to know that it is just a bad drama in terms of script and acting. But I won't rate it if I drop it because the genre or story doesn't interest me even though I can see that it is well done. I value people who rate and review dramas they dropped, it often saves me from wasting time watching terrible dramas. I don't think someone should have to suffer through a really bad drama to be qualified to warn off potential unsuspecting viewers.

The FL in Love and Redemption is as dumb as bricks and even though as a couple they had some pretty hot moments, they will most likely end up divorced. Unlike TLB, it is not a good character drama with a couple that definitely makes it. What saves L&R is the plot is good and it has one of the best villains out there. As much as I love TLB, I really think the villain here is atrocious and so badly acted it takes me out of the drama.

I hope the prequel is just someone's idea of a bad joke. No way I am gonna watch something that digs deeper into that borderline pedophile relationship... I would rather they just do something on Scorpion King by himself.
