Indeed I know that is what is implied but if she had SS she is long past it. Otherwise she would be sympathetic to and defend her stepfather but she doesn't. She loathes and fears him. I think it is more likely her brother and indeed her stepfather creepily keeps alluding to how he and his son have a special relationship. To me, it seems implied he is more into boys than girls. But even then, usually pedophiles are no longer interested in their victims once they grow up. I enjoyed the show overall I don't mean to pick at it. But if you look a bit harder, there are many, many logic and plot holes. They deviated into making this a bit of a different kind of drama but didn't have the substance or research to back up some of the themes they were delving into.

The title and the advertising poster is just misleading. It should be called Entourage instead. And yeah it looks like there are some odd editing issues... I love this ZQL but we see so little of him... I heard in the Lost Tomb this character stole the show. The stepfather threatened to expose the pictures to ruin them thus identifying them as the kids in the photos. Given they were minors in his custody and he has the pictures he is the obvious abuser or at the very least negligent... I agree she/they may have had Stockholm syndrome but lets just say that that was one of the weaker portrayals of that that I have seen...
A lot of logic flaws emerged in the second half... like how he must stink to high heaven after being locked up there for a year... They should never have even smuggled him up to her apartment just kill him there, don't even bother to dispose the body and just alibi each other out like they used to in school. Gosh we are terrible - just casually talking about bumping people off like this! LOL!

No, I meant the Mark Chao/Yang Mi version. As a half Cantonese half Fujianese girl, I was an avid TVB watcher until I moved to the US for college. And then I only watched Western shows. But I've been working on China related stuff for a very long time now the different accents don't bother me, most of my friends and business contacts are mainlanders I can more or less tell where people are from. I guess I just got roped me into watching c-drama with them. I still think Cantopop rules the world though but I have to concede the drama space.
