Haters...targeting this drama because they can't stand a medium buget drama that actually has a plot be received…
I checked profile of quite a few who are giving low ratings...they seem to be rating other drama much much higher...it is not that such an occurence is impossible..it is just too much coincidence to not be suspicious about it
Why I feel SOTB is actually women-cetric and more wholesome
1. The Xie family is essentially held together by its matriarch, who carries the weight of the family and keeps everything running. 2. We see women being sacrificed for the sake of family honour and reputation and women sacrificing for the same 3. Xie Qingyuan’s mother’s suffering is a major part of the story. She was abused and still had to earn money to keep her abusive father happy. 4. The drama shows quite clearly how women can be forced to suffer under patriarchy, sometimes to the point of sacrificing the most precious parts of themselves. 5. And then there is our ML, who, even when proposing to FL, makes sure to preserve her dignity and give her the choice. 6. There is a mix of characters : some who abuse women, some who treat them with respect...
Yes, the drama also shows women scheming against one another for the sake of a manipulative, narcissistic man. But I do wonder—would we react to it quite the same way if the people doing the scheming were men? 😂 In "Blossoms of Power", when the men were scheming around the FL, I don't remember seeing the same level of criticism. Makes me wonder if we sometimes judge women a little more harshly for the same behaviour. 🤔
The drama also showcases women in all forms—kind, manipulative, loyal, cold, ambitious, calculating, self-sacrificing, resilient, vulnerable, protective, ruthless, and compassionate. They aren't all written from the same mould.

Even I observed that... They are jealous that despite budget issues..this drama actually has an enjoyable plot.. I would really like to know if the other drama didn't have all the manufactured hype how it would genuinely fare
I watched this drama without reading the novel or knowing any of the gossip and stories surrounding it. I went in with a completely blank slate, with no idea what was coming, and honestly, I think that made the experience even more enjoyable. I could simply take everything as it unfolded on screen and let the story surprise me.
