In ep2 when the whole family is discussing FL falling into lake with ML and the possible implication on Xie family's reputation, Zhengjun is sitting and playing around with something in his hand, completely oblivious to what is happening...clearly showing his simple mindedness and lack of involvement in Xie family's businesses.
I am glad you are enjoying the drama and prefer that over this....but there are many who feel the opposite...and as this Spring of the Blade drama page, we will highlight our preferences

The time around which FL is bullied is when FL has just entered the Xie household. Her mother was accused of murder and exiled from the house and removed from family history. The Xie family has recently been under a lot of negative events. A fortune-teller tells that Xie family needs a sacrifice. FL has only been brought back to be sacrificed and that is the only reason grandma stands by her. Her standing in the family is very very weak and she can be easily bullied. Even now because she is insisting on the investigation of her mother's accusation, she is a threat to Xie family.
I don't like to comment on other dramas in another drama page, but as the original commentor is clearly trying to mislead others and is the one who started it...I'll share my thoughts here ATC is overhyped...pacing is very slow...watch at 1.5x and don't miss anything..scenes sprolonged beyond necessary impact, too long transitions...FL can't do no wrong, no flaws...the tone completed shifted after she got released from Lin household...and romance is forced...and now a random villian, FL s kidnapping a whole lot of plot devices thrown in... High budget is reflected in the costumes and visuals but unfortunately the heart of the drama which is a script is good at the beginning but hs entered the trope territory now
ATC is already doing extremely well, so I’m not sure why ATC fans feel the need to come into the SOTB space…
Because high budget doesn't necessarily mean coherent script...despite the high budget there are obvious flaws and the only way to cover it up is attack the commentors and another drama airing at same time

If Yn Rui has the imperial token that is an all-pass and can command armies, why doesn’t he simply use it to order the Marquis to provide troops? Why the whole scheme of using FL to get in touch with the Marquis? And even if Marquis didn't want to see him,and Yan Rui had to scheme using the FL, he could have used the token at their meeting? What is the point of handing that token to FL instead when the whole village is being looted and plundered?
The whole bandit attack on the village—the plundering, deaths, ML surrounded by villains, the fight, the visuals—was undeniably made for maximum emotional and visual impact. But was all of it actually necessary for the plot? Or is this the point where the writers abandon their usual intelligence and plot coherence for spectacle and emotional payoff?
If ML comes to know FL is his childhood friend in episode 14, then all his actions of pursuing her becomes downright creepy to me...the only reason I assumed he is trying so hard, giving her everything is because he knows her real identity and their past
