I've heard a lot of good talk about Scent of a Woman. I'll consider it. I tend to shy away from tragedies. Life is already filled with too many disappointments!
I'm glad Lovers is working for you on some level! Sana is great. I think he and Mi Yoo's friend are a perfect match although he loves putting on the tough guy act! LOL
I'd actually love to see Kim Nam Gil in some other stuff, but nothing in his filmography strikes an interest, sadly.

You're welcome. Obviously I loved the movie!
Wished it had ended differently, but it's still one of my favs. Jung Woo-sung is a fav of mine too. He's amazing in pretty much everything I've seen him in! I'd love to see more Asian movies like A Moment to Remember, but with happier endings! :)

I'm glad you like the review. Thanks for the compliment! :)
Be sure to prioritize MARS one day soon. I think you'll like it. I remember you telling me that you can still appreciate a drama even if it's cliched just as long as it has a good story. Well, MARS isn't very cliched. It deals with some dark themes, but it's not overwhelming. Take it from someone who doesn't like dark, heavy, sad stuff. MARS is not like that. It's a beautiful story about facing your demons & moving past tragedy. Yes, it's a bit draggy in parts, but well worth the watch.
And just like Lovers the OST is nice. It's also translated! (not that you'll need translations ... will you?)

Hello, Ms. Winnie, sorry for late reply. How's Lovers coming along? Don't I know it about busy hectic life! Come next week I'll be back in the grind. See, I'm just not disciplined like you are to watch 1 ep & leave it at that! I have a tendency to marathon dramas so I only watch them when I have time. For eg, during public holidays or now when it's kind of a slow period in my industry. Although I only took 5 days off, I'm not working as much as I do outside of vacation season.
Anyway, Kang Jæ is one gorgeous man! I'm glad he's creeping under your skin! LOL I know he's generally not your type, but you can't deny the man is badass & HOT! He's not perfect, but it's hard not to like him.
Re: Mars, well I've actually been watching it on & off for a couple of weeks & finished the remaining eps while we were visiting our friends in Copenhagen. What can I say? I'm a serious junkie! :)

Anyway, we seem to share more favs! Jung Woo sung is amazing! What have you seen him in? I've seen him in a couple of things & I'm never disappointed. LSJ is my new fav. OMG, what a sexy man! I want to see more of him. I noticed that you've seen him in Damo which I unfortunately won't watch bcuz I dislike Ha Ji Won with a passion. After The World That They Live In I also really like Hyun Bin, but again she's the reason I refuse to see him in Secret Garden. That woman just ANNOYS me with her obnoxious acting style & facial expressions (sorry if you like her!).
As for MARS I loved it with some reservation. I thought there was too much exposition. I got bored in some parts & that took a little bit away from the drama for me. I LOVED the romance though. Wow! So sweet & so real. I love that there wasn't any of that fake ass kissing & stuff going on. I wrote a review. Check it out! :)

Hi Pien, sorry for late reply. Haha, I really had to laugh at your complaint about Oguri Shun! LOL But don't I get it! I wouldn't want to be reminded either. Actually, I find Shun quite ugly, but he has charisma so I guess that's why I'm drawn to him. I need to see more of his stuff to decide whether my feelings are just as superficial as yours or more genuine. Even though he stirs up unwanted memories, have you watched him in anything good or do you completely avoid his shows?
Re Japanese vs Korean - it's hard to put a finger on it. The Japanese, through their films, seem to have a deeper, philosophical outlook on life. They always get a gut reaction from me in a way Korean cinema doesn't. But Korean cinema I find is a notch above on entertainment value. Koreans as a people also seem to be more spirited & feisty in comparison to the more self-possessed, subdued Japanese.
How in the world Julian gets to heaven, I will never know.

Great review on A Moment to Remember! The part about shows having a tendency to focus on the chase & end after the guy gets the girl resonated particularly with me. I mean, all this is good & well, but it would also be nice to see more movies/dramas where the characters continue to show love & affectionate toward each other in marriage. Instead what tends to happen in shows that portray married life is that only the negative parts get air time, the cheating husbands, domestic abuse ... ugh. Dreadful!
Boa, what a name.
Immediately puts me in the mind of the snake.

Ik, how's it going? Back from holiday.
Gah, you only 'like' Ha Jeong Woo??? Only 'like'? LOL
To be honest he has a very dodgy face, but I think that's why I love him. The way he reacts to things is very interesting to me.
Who are some of your favourite male actors? I see you basically have only Japanese favs on your profile. There's something mysterious & deep about the Japanese, but I still haven't found any bonafide favs yet. Well, aside from KimTaku, who I've only seen twice, in Pride & Love & Honour. Have you seen the latter?
I like Oguri Shun too because of Rich Man, Poor Woman but again that's all I've seen him in so I don't know if I really like him as an actor or if it's just his character I was drawn to.
Please recommend some of your favourite J-movies. I struggle to find just the right ones. The Japanese doesn't seem to infuse romance the way I like.

Winnie, I see you've only watched 1 new ep of Lovers. You really are going at snail's pace, aren't you! :)
Yes, LSJ has a very nice butt from what I could see. No, no bare cheeks! LOL, this is a k-drama after all. But the guy dresses to the 9s in some really tight fitting suits that would make other men look henpecked & gay. So that's how I know! Anyway, WATCH for yourself & make up your own mind! Haha
Hey, you said you wanted to watch a Taiwanese drama, didn't you? Well, I know I've already advocated against your first choice being Autumn's Concerto (& with darn good reason!), so all I'll say is watch MARS instead. It's not a perfect drama by any means but it is SOOOO much better than AC and Devil Beside You! I really liked it.
Plus Vic Zhou is HAAAWT & the romance is mature, just like we like it. Give it a go!

Thanx for the info on Cruel City & Crazy Love! While I'm disappointed to hear there's little romance in CC I'm still going to give it a go, so impressed was I with the first 2 eps that I saw. Hopefully it will not disappoint.
As for CL, I'll probably pass on that one if there's nothing special beyond the crazy drama cliches. Moreover, I started a long drama (Smile, You) before heading off on holiday so I just might pick that back up. Or try to finish The Greatest Love which I parked back in June.
I seriously don't know how you have the patience to watch airing dramas! The wait for new eps would just drive me crazy, esp if I'm really loving the show! :)

What else are you watching? Anything good?

Now you got me really intrigued.
I know in the drama he's dead, but I hear there's a lot of flashbacks showing his life with his wife & kids. Is that why you dropped it?
LOL, please tell me. I need to know because if he's not featured a lot in the drama then I don't want to watch it! :)

Something I've been meaning to ask you ...
I see you've rated Cruel City with a 6 so far. Why's that?
I saw the first 2 eps & I really liked the atmosphere & the characters. It seems like a gritty, underworld drama to me & that's probably the main reason I want to watch it. I love that there seems to be a pretty nice romance going on between the two leads as well. I dunno why but I got the impression that they'll handle the romance in a pretty mature fashion, just like in Lovers. But why only a 6? Am I wrong in my assumptions?
Also what can you tell me about Crazy Love? Even for me 100 eps are a bit much, but for a good story I can cast a blind eye. Is it heavily cliched & cheesy? Is there a lot of dragged out, negative angst?
Please tell me all you can! :)

Nameless Gangster made me discover Ha Jeong Woo & I mainly enjoyed the movie because of his contribution. There's just something about that man's eyes & facial expressions that are so intense...
I'm a Choi Min-sik fan too. He was wicked in I Saw The Devil alongside the lovely & fantastic Mr. Lee Byung-hun. As for Old Boy I mainly enjoyed it for Park Chang-woo's direction. Absolutely exquisite & by far the masterpiece of his career so far IMO. The story was wild & out there, but I loved it because of Choi & Yoo Ji-Tæ, another ahjussi I go goo-gaa-gaa over! LOL
I will add A Better Tomorrow to my weekend watch list. I'm also going to check out The Hotel Venus, recommended to me by someone who has an unique view on the technicalities of filmmaking. Have you seen it?.
I can't remember my life before drama! haha I know a fair share of work has been sidelined due my addiction! :-)

Haven't watched Lovers in Paris, but I've been eyeing it. The reviews are a little off putting so I've been wavering whether I should watch it or not.
I'm extremely disappointed to learn that Lee Seo-jin is more interested in being a businessman (he's a NYU alum) than an actor these days! He doesn't have much credits ... omo, I need to see those dimples and hot bod again!
I see from your convo with Winnie that you're watching Shark. How is it? Is it anything like Lovers in the slightest? Are there any good kisses & romance? I really liked Kim Nam Gil as Tæ San in Lovers and wouldn't mind seeing more of him. Unfortunately nothing he's been in, other than Lovers, interests me...
